Sandra and Woo celebrates its 50th strip with the first COLORED one.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a video game with particularly awesome sunsets.
There is also another version of this comic which references an unpleasant recent event.
- Richard: The sunsets in Twilight Princess were more impressive.
- Sandra: Indeed.
- Cloud: Damn sure!
- Ye Thuza: Yep.
- Larisa: I hate you all!
- Woo: ?

The colour comic looks really good and I agree with the alternate version wholeheartedly.
Very nice 🙂
Nature just can’t compete with computers, it’s true.
Is it just me, or does Sandra look a lot like Penny from Inspector Gadget?
Great job on the color!
Mr GBH-I kinda thought that too.
Poor gecko lost his tail. Maybe one day he will get his revenge…
Awesome :D. And you know she really does look like Penny.
I thin I have to agree with them 😛 played Twilight Princess just a couple days ago, and every time the sun went down I just had to stop and look at it 😛 same with the sunrises.
Not only are they more impressive, but you can sit and stare at them without getting dirt on your pants or having little crawly things run all over your hands.
…actually, I guess that all depends on how clean your room is.
So nice
I highly enjoyed the alternate version, that incident was highly annoying, but I really like reference to twilight princess
I much, MUCH prefer real sunsets. Out where I live, every evening, the sky is set ablaze with the sun’s fire, red mixing with yellow and purple, blue with orange…*sighs* I miss home.
Wow.
finally some colors, chestnut and orange was a good color combo for Sandra .
computers all they need do is grow fur and walk and all computer geeks will officaly become qualified doctors!
hey todd, dont you mean vets? cause of the fur part of that comment. oh and i agree with you novil, hackers suck the balls.
(“Congratz!” +”Way to Go!” + “Mazal Tov!” + “Congratulations!” + “Felicitations!”) x 10
I really like how the comic came out! They look just as how I imagined they would look in color!
It took me a minute to figure out why Woo was holding.
I also agree, hardly reproduction of a sunrise or sunset is as good as in real life (I have not seen a good sunrise/sunset picture in a game yet (I also have not played Twilight Princess yet))
im running my intivirus now
I didn’t get any of it at first.
Lizard tail that comes off. Thought that was Woo…wiggling a finger at something. Which also didn’t make sense what the creature hiding in the rocks was.
And, why the comment on “I hate you all” was even there.
Suddenly; crystal clear.
Sunsets depend on where you are. I live in a rubbish little suburb east of London, so most sunsets are viewed between the houses. But there was one really spectacular one I remember seeing from a train window. The sun lit the clouds up bright red, and the nuclear power station in the mid-ground just set the scene perfectly.
Then the train broke down.
Yeah, I thought that too Reindeer, until I noticed it was a different color. That’s what happens when you keep reading B&W comics 😛
yes, the sunsets in LoZ: TP are very very awesome. =D
Agh, I’m so tempted to play Twilight Princess now. Must resist.
We have skinks here, but I’ve yet to see one. Reminded of a “Toonces The Cat” episode on SNL involving lizards.
Jup-raindeer seconded!
‘cept for the ‘I hate you all’ comment. Will someone explain?
I rarely see the sunset, though this is mostly my fault for being inside all day :p
I’m not sure, but I think she’s pissed because she loves nature… unlike her friends there.
Oh, and it is unclear what woo is holding. I didn’t bother to figure it out until I read all the comments.
I can relate to this – quite a few times me or friends have blurped “man, what a beautiful sky; it almost looks like a painting / videogame / Disney movie” XD
And alternate version – second that. >_>
“But the real one has better resolution!”
I heard a story once about a boy who had grown up in a big city and hardly ever seen more than a narrow stripe of sky at a time. Once he went to visit his uncle’s farm out in the middle of nowhere, and one dark moonless night his uncle took him out in the forest, and they walked until the lights of the farm faded behind them, and there was nothing but darkness all around. They went up a hill, and the uncle told the boy to look up. The sky was clear and dark, and full of stars all around them.
The boy stood staring into eternity for a long time, and then he said…
“Gee, Uncle! It’s just like a planetarium!”
I guess Larisa must just be anti-geek or something 😀 I like how even Sandra’s dad joined in.
I’ll second the call for either her shirt colours to be changed, or Woo to be given big floppy ears, a radio collar and a nose that flashes red when a call comes in (and S to get a computer-book)… we’ve already established that only she can hear him talk after all. Does her dad drive a Trueno that turns into a minivan? (hahaha – ah, memories)
Never mind the resolution, it’s in 3D! I think I had a similar experience to the city boy when going up the mountain on Tenerife recently. Being a semi urban lowlands dweller, where cloud and sky are things that definitively happen above you, and horizons aren’t that common, it was unreal. Like being in a plane, or flightsim or something 😉
Just went to top web comics and voted. moved up from 1309 to 1288, woo hoo, hope everybody else goes and votes
Mm.. I think the Oblivion Sunsets were better than both. xDD
*snicker*
Agreed, the sunsets there ARE more impressive.
Yeah, the Twilight Princess sunsets/sunrises are awesome, so are minecraft’s in my opinion… Both have their own unique beauty to their respective world.

Upon that, I must see the sunsets in Oblivion, as I’ve never played it… I greatly enjoy video game sunsets and sunrises. 😀
I loved Twilight Princess, but I’m sorry to say that I disagree with the sunset comment. There’s just something about a real sunset that makes me feel as if I was alive somewhere before, that a simulated sunset can never replace.
Sounds just about right. The sky’s too pixelated in reality. I feel that whoever created it could’ve done a much better job with the graphics engine. Maybe he could even go ahead and update to DX11.
Bull crap! Twilight Princess was a terrible game and an insult to the Zelda Community
They really were.
Odd…i was just playing Twilight Princess ^^ i agree
@ Tim:
You take that back TAKE IT BACK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! And the sunsets were f-ing awesome.
Three things: Yes, Twilight Princess, is a freakin’ awesome game with freakin’ awesome scenery, yes Hackers should get shot straight into the sun when it affects other people in a noticable and angering way, and no, that is not a sunset in the twilight princess photo, but, in fact, a scene with the sky of the twilight realm in the background. The sky there is not a sunset, just a brightly lit sky with black clouds.
@ ill eat yourself:
Oh yeah, I LOVE that scene from twilight princess. Quote: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA(you get the idea by now, it hurts)AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH *dead silence, Ganondorf dies but stays standing as if refusing to kneel to Link’s power*
haha i actually play twilight princess. i have to admit though, i never really… payed attention… to the sunsets… i just played the game. finally got Ilia’s memory back, that made me so happy!
not all hackers try to do harm, actually, it’s surprisingly few. most hackers only want to show off their skills in what they are good at, this is usually finding and exploiting loop holes and leaking information of large websites and/or companies, they think of their work as a form of art in itself. think about it, what if drawing was frowned upon and people wished death upon artists like yourself. not good, right? sorry, but i have to disagree with the alternate version.
But wasn’t there another colored comic before this one with the fox about to eat the squirrel? Or did you go through and start recoloring certain comics after posting this one? 🙂
I have to agree, the sunsets in Twilight Princess were beautiful.
Yup. That game has AWESOME sunsets!
And, regarding the other version of this strip, I agree (with the exception of those employed by governments)!
I’ve seen quite a few sunsets better than Twilight Princess sunsets… though the latter were pretty neat.
The Twilight Princess sunsets were great.
I have never played it, but I know enough about it to understand. I loved Midna so much and I hope they figure out a way to bring her back. I even wrote something involving that because of a reviewer request! Rock on!
I don’t know why people do such stuff, its really irritating. Plus it makes you do even more work to fix such stuff. I’m sorry that the people hacked you
