    Let’s face it…no matter how many times this particular joke is used, it’s always funny.

    Great comic, as always!

    Billy – Yes it is; that’s kinda part of the joke. They made a reference to the movie in the form of a joke by saying,’why so scared?’ rather than the actual line, ‘why so serious?’

    Garrett makes a good point – is this the first time someone else has heard Woo speak? Should be interesting to see what happens.

    Ben – since this is a public place, I won’t tell you what you should do with your post. The reason you’re flaming is because you’re jealous of the author’s creativity and the fact that you can’t even doodle what you see on deviantart :roll: This comic is one of the best I’ve seen and it reminds me of so many creative people and their projects in the past and even now. So, dear Ben, please go back to your sad life and contemplate your sad life

    I wan’t to suggest some older scary films.

    See “The Shining”, by Kubrick. You have to find the right one, though. The original was written by Stephen King, and directed by Kubrik. Check the label – just in case you never wan’t to sleep again. The remake is worthless. Also, you will need sub-woofers, and real stereo sound: the original uses sub-harmonics to induce fear. If you have a decent digital TV, or HD, you should be good, though. But be warned – not all DVD’s can carry silent sounds.

    And “Phantasm”, 1 & 2; the first movies to use real digital sound. Unregulated, and awesome for it’s age.

    There are some older films that might scare you. “Alien”, and it’s sequel, “Aliens”.

    @Garrett Williams
    I think, Woo does not speak (he probably thinks only) because the last speech bubble is differently framed. But I can be mistaken.
    @ Ben: Your last sentence shows clearly that you exclusively want to offend. Meanly !

    Actually, the shape of Woo’s word balloon is caused by dashed lines — usually used to show when a character is whispering.

    And please, everyone… Don’t feed the troll. ^_^

    “Looks like another character now knows that Woo can speak.”

    Not necessarily, Woo is talking really softly so perhaps he wasn’t heard. We will have to see what happens though.

    It’s possible that Cloud overheard the previous statement Woo made.

    The real question is, did Cloud bring the lipstick with him just for the joke, or did he find it there?

    For a great live flash animation comic with raccoon heroes, type “Raiders of the Lost Trash” into youtube. You won’t be dissapointed, I promise :)

    Ben: poor effort, I give it 3/10. Would have been 4 but for the distinct lack of misspellings and txt spk. Back to troll school for you, miladdo.

    Shouldn’t it have been Why So Cumulus? (ahem, sorry…)
    How did he get into their house, though?

    For my 2c I only recently saw the Dark Knight on DVD as well rather than at the cinema (dont ask why – I did get to see Iron Man at least), and I thought it was a damn good film, and Heath put in an excellent turn as a slightly unhinged but otherwise just straight out uncompromising bad guy with an uncertain but definitely shady past. Don’t quite get why everyone was raving about it though, as there’s arguably been much better – just because of how much of a departure from his clean cut golden boy norm it is? The performance was about par for the rest of the film. (IE still pretty damn good. My main beef with it, all hype aside, is that they killed two-face off straight away … or have they?;)). And certainly not all-out scary, maybe not even if I was a kid (try watching T2 at Sandra’s age – you won’t sleep for weeks), though I would probably soil myself also if someone pulled Cloud’s trick.

    Not trolling myself, that’s just the opinion. Maybe it would have grabbed me more in the cinema?

    At least they didn’t go the easy route and draft Hamill in, though I still would have happily watched THAT version ;)

    Wingshadow: Haaaaaaaahaha I thank you for giving me a very amusing last ten minutes. Raiders was a good start (good concept, drawing, animation, combination of painting and flash, and lots of little touches), then De la terra a le lune or whatever it was called, and the somewhat more violent “Vex hates you” (still hilarious though). Followed up with Roses are red….. can’t recommend the last two for younger audiences I’m afraid. But still four good and stylistically strong 2-to-3 minute long little viddys.
    Also: it appears the rocketmen are home counties homeboys. Nice work.

    Obviously Cloud has played more RPGs than you have. It’s easy. You just walk through the door. Well, in some cases you may have to stop at the door and press “A” or “X”, or maybe “Up”, whatever.

    @Pizzasgood. Being an old skool gamer, I’d say Cloud did something like this…

    > Walk North.

    >>> Cloud walked over the cobblestone path to the porch. In sight, he saw a door, a doorbell, a door mat, a chair made from wood and a busy ant.

    > Look door mat.

    >>> Cloud inspected the door mat with a cautious eye before he lifted the door mat. Under door mat resided some previously unseen dirt and a shiny key.

    > Get key.

    >>> I do not recognize what you are trying to get.

    > Get shiny key.

    >>> Cloud has acquired the shiny key into his inventory. There is nothing else of interest under the door mat.

    > Look self.

    >>> Cloud looks at a very attractive specimen of the Human race.

    > Use shiny key on door.

    >>> Cloud has unlocked the door and lost all but the most elder of audience members by this point, who would have walked through ten dungeons and acquired a hundred chests of gold by the time this clunky, outdated interface has managed to open a virtual door. So, time to upgrade to something visual, if you please. Door is now openable.

    > Quit game.

    pizza, jup …. good points….

    *loads zsnes* *loads ff6* *loads old savegame* *wanders around narshe barging into peoples houses and taking their stuff*

    but then there’s always that one house which you can’t get into, either until much later in the game, or at all ;)
    however if it’s either completely inconsequential, or important to the plot that you go in straightaway, you can usually gain access. I submit.

    also:

    >>> Cloud’s torch runs out of batteries. It is dark. Cloud has been eaten by a grue.

    >>> Your score: 12.
    >>> Your completion level: 2%
    >>> Better luck next time.

    READY [K]?

    I love this comic to death. But why do you keep telling us when things happen and/or when they’re going to happen. “This is the beginning of a new arc”, “You’ll find out what happens in strip 7″, “This is the intro”. Haha there’s no mystery if we know what’s coming!

    Why oh why do so many people dis the remake of The Shining? The remake was much more faithful to the book. Yes, the Jack in the remake wasn’t as good as Jack Nicholson, but that’s because Nicholson is a genius and you just can’t compete with genius.

    The classic is a classic for good reason, but that’s no reason to bash the remake. The remake was made for TV, and damned good considering.

    Now, back to the comic… it’s nice to see that Cloud, has a mischievous side. It’s exactly what I’d expect from any boy who knows a female friend is sitting at home alone after a ‘scary’ movie.

    I have said for many years that the villains have more fun, get better lines, and are more three dimensional. Any bozo can put on a rubber suit and play Batman, but it took Jacj Nicholson to play The Joker.
