I wish I had wolves in my state, but sadly, the colonials decided that wolves were evil and killed them all so their precious cattle, sheep, and other retarded animals could be farmed. Did any of them even think that through?

@ Naniki: Wolverines, not wolves, there’s a very significant difference which you really want to know should you end up on their turf. Wolverines are the only animal, besides humans, which I know of who will kill merely for the pleasure of it.

I find sandra’s comment to be rather random, if you ask me. Woo comes in with something that could have been potentially dangerous, and she just brushes it off with some random fact. It’s like me going up to a friend saying “I had a sandwich” to which he replies “99% or more of people in jail are bread users” and then walks off.
Funny, none-the-less… just, kinda random…

If you think wolverines are the only animals that kill for the fun of it, you probably don’t have a cat. Wolverines are just scary because they’re tough. Not as tough as honey badgers, but still pretty tough. Most mustelids are tough mean little bastards.

Dolphins also are on record killing for apparent sport. They chased a group of porpoises for miles before running them through. There was no evidence of any other reason to do it.

I’m a South Floridian – we have no dangerous mammals or birds (except for a very small Florida panther population and of course humans), but three of the four poisonous snakes in America have been spotted on my BLOCK of the suburbs in the last few years. One was in my house. Add gators, non-native pythons, and poisonous spiders to the mix, and it’s pretty rough down here.
Sandra’s such a show-off. And I can totally get Woo uncomfortably rubbing the back of his neck.

Bah, Florida. The US has hardly any poisonous snakes of note.
Try Australia.
Venomous snakes, sea-shells, jellyfish, octopi, spiders, fish… stuff that kills in two minutes… plus as a bonus the world’s only venomous mammal…
And crocs that’ll eat your alligators for lunch.
Sure, the most dangerous non-human mammal in Australia is the wild pig, but the rest of the animal kingdom more than makes up for it.

you know, i never heard of wolverines killing for fun. what i heard was that they are viciosly territorial and will attack anything that get too close to their dens. like, trying to murder a bear. another animal that kills for sport is a weasel.

A raccoon can take down a wolf if there isn’t another wolf around to bite it off, using similar methods. (though two on two the wolves would win, because they are suited to pack hunting and would work together in a way the raccoons couldn’t) I’d say Woo has little to fear, he’s in the same category when it comes to fighting.
I think there’s a video somewhere on YouTube of a raccoon nearly killing a wolf like that if anyone wants proof…

I think I’ll be staying in little Ol’ England for while. Our only dangerous animal (The Adder) hasn’t killed anyone in over a hundred years. I’m pretty safe from wildlife. Except Bluebells…… I have a bad history with Bluebells.

I live in the Wolverine State, yet there are none–until one was found in the thumb area just a few years ago. They call her “The Furry Old Gal.” They’re the best at what they do, and they’re not pretty.
