Brings to mind the accounts of how animal rights activists almost wiped out the water vole in Britain by releasing thousands of fur-farm minks into wildlife preserves. Do you think that, even with Eminem singing the song, that your German readers can get the “8 Mile Road” reference? What would the German equivalent be?

That drug dealer looks like a real cool cat.

    I’d buy from him.

  15.     Rate this comment: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

The German equivalent would be “8 Mile” :)
Since it’s referring to a geological location, the film title would normally remain untranslated when dubbed. I’m sure the movie is as well-known there as it is in the United States.

La Cosa Nostra’s idea of human pest control is usually a matter of using the right caliber.

Incidentally, the popular term “Mafia” as a name for a criminal gang originated in a 19th century Italian play.

Well, for C. Nostra, that IS a humane way of dealing with human-variety pests, compared to more…*ahem* “traditional” methods.

Oh this one is easy.. give the crazy woman something else to obsess about! Something else to fix! Should keep her out of the forest for a while.

I also know someone that vehicle could transport…providing the suspension were beefed up first. Perhap Woo will put them all into realistic fursuits and turn them loose in the woods to be hunted.

…. and i just realised about the human-sized cat box :-D where did they get that?

I figured she would be dropped off at the park somewhere and forced to survive the traps she set for the animals, I just thought it would be more karmic that way.

OMG, they’ve been relocated to an Eminem music video!

Now if we could only do that with our congress…. Of course several of them would already be acquainted with the drug dealer.

Okay… so… So far I’m getting mixed messages from this plot. First off, why is being essentally kidnapped and abandoned in a slum supposed to teach her that she should not be using illegal non-humane trapping methods? Indeed, how is it supposed to do anything but make her furious? The fact that her family apparently did nothing to help her when she was drugged is just funny tho.

And if the supposedly humane method of trapping an animal and releasing them in a more fitting habitat is bad, then what are you supposed to be doing?

Now, that comment is just completely stupid. You should not make such bold accusations against other people based on a harmless joke they have told.

I do not think she did it on purpose , but looking at the last panel shows how she unconsiously thinks people in poor neighborhoods behave.

We have problems , and it can be dangerous at times , but poor people are not all predators.

Did anybody say they _all_ were? You yourself acknowledged that it can be dangerous at times. This happens to be one of those times. Of course they won’t dump her out in a peaceful part of town. They specifically sought out one of the dangerous spots. Maybe if you walk two blocks away you’ll be in a perfectly safe, yet equally poor, area (and I suspect this is the case – they don’t want her in mortal danger, just scared).

Dang. Frankly, I think the “experts”— who haven’t got it right yet, anyway— need to be told to take a flying leap. In the choice between struggling in a new environment or getting flat-out mercilessly KILLED, I’ll pick door number ONE, thank you.
