Clearly, she is describing the set-up to a night of on-the-table romance, and Cloud finds humor in her reckless passion.

I agree with above. I was busy for a couple months and loss track of the strip, so when I look at it in this context it seems like Larissa is countering Sandra’s advances, and with far less agression (ice cream and a book versus taking Cloud on a vacation) but with perhaps more accuracy. It makes me wonder if Larissa is really interest in Cloud, or if she’s just being a chaotic meddler.
I agree with RA. I’m not sure if Larissa isn’t just flirting with Cloud just to egg on Sandra, being the chaotic neutral person she is.

I assume they’re discussing sword swinging… techniques..
The possibly unnecessary(maybe not) arm movements bring to mind Virtua Quest. Otherwise I feel Sandra will eventually confront Larisa about this matter of arm swinging.
trust me, been there Sandra, Larissa is Miss Russian style evil, I think we now have a very cold war coming, either that or Larissa going up to Sandra and asking whats up. in my experience, the guy likes you more, but you need to be more aggressive, Tifa kicks aerith’s rear anyday, just make sure it is an actuall problem first.
Forget the hand motions and the panels, I have one problem with the strip. Unless this is a different day, our ponytailed girl has changed from dress to pants. Inconsistency there.

Anyway,I agree with the general consensus,Sandra just needs to be more assertive.If she likes Cloud,she needs to step up her game.Then again that depends if he returns the sentiment.

I think the game Larissa is playing is half true half lie, Myself being Chaotic Good in every game I play. I kinda like see how ting burns (not to set them on fire) in fact thuersday I hide in University while a Bomb Threat just to see if the cops failed in disarming the thing, at the end the hole thing was a big pratical joke, I was happy of course, but why cant I be in some place when somenthing goes PUM BOOM!.
Anyways yesterday my parents where in a car accident, my dad was ok and my mom was unconcious till today, she is fine now. Of course I reread the whole comic, thannks for make some awsome real characters Novil.
PD: Is Larissa developing a plan? as “are you jealous? so stop beeing a fool and tell him/her!” plan. bipolar/schizoid/sociopats and Chaotics aligneaments tend to that sort of thing,
@Cold Fusion: I was thinking maybe she was describing a prank she was planning to pull on Cloud (without telling him that he’s the target), but your idea is much funnier than mine.
Sandra just needs to go find Larissa somebody/thing else to be interested in. Like a recipe for black powder, or a stack of cream pies. Then give Cloud a milkshake and everybody can be happy. (Well, except perhaps Larissa’s parents after she starts playing with her newly made “happy powder”).
Some interesting ideas in this discussion what’s going to happen next, but I still like my version the most 😉 since it includes some serious character development and not just some wacky jokes about explosives.

I was in a similar situation. Best friends were dating and I had fallen for the girl…spent my entire high school life feeling like crap for wishing they would break up.

Surely too young for surges of irrational hormonal jealousy, right?
Yeah, I know that feel… Sis? I guess? Yeah, I promised myself freshman year that I would not get into any drama, that I owed myself more than that.
And then, come the time that one of my best friends starts dating the only girl I liked out of the entire population (don’t get me wrong, many of them were reasonably attractive, its just that… this girl shared many interests with me and she was also a close friend, and compared to her, everyone else felt really… shallow? I guess?)
And they wondered why I started distancing myself from them, and got really… moody/depressed when they were acting all lovey-dovey. I got depressed, and I felt I owed more to them than to screw up their whole deal. Thus the distancing began.
In retrospect I was really lucky, it was INCREDIBLY close to the end of the year, and it was no secret that I wouldn’t be at the same school the next year (being that I was moving more than an hour and a half away).
I averted a major drama situation there, but I weathered quite a bit of drama swirling around me like a friggin’ tornado, not about me, but what some of my friends were doing to some of my other friends.
For the most part I kept that promise to myself. I had never had a girlfriend or anything of that sort before, being more socially awkward than Peter Griffin would be if he was a real life guy. To this day I just distance myself from people of the opposite sex that I take an interest to, because there’s bound to be a repeat… and I don’t want that.
Somehow I made this all about me, I guess the anonymity of the internet took hold there for a minute and I guess I just had to get this off my chest. Sorry it had to be you guys who had to read this, in fact, I actually debated posting it…
Anyway, I’ll give Sandra the soapbox back now because here, her troubles mean far more than mine.

Y’know… just for a moment there I was interested in your little story.
Not that it seems special or anything. I’m sure it is a story repeated all over the world on a regular basis… but that is just it…
It is the sort of story that people just blot out of their memories because they don’t want to imagine a story without a happy ending.
Still… if there is a lesson to be learnt here, it is this : If you opt to keep yourself out of everyone else’s drama, chances are they’ll probably shut you out in return… and what results is generally a relatively quiet and boring existence.
And while it is perfectly fine to live such a life if you so choose, most tend to crave some sort of drama of their own sooner or later… and that tends to be difficult without at least adopting a little of someone else’s. A double-edged sword, essentially.
Oh, and another piece of much more sinister advice : Just because someone is already accounted for doesn’t mean you don’t have a chance with them.
