Guest strip by Mort Janu

Unfortunately we received only one guest strip for our guest strip week which had to be canceled because of that. The following comic was created by Mort Janu who asked me to not publish it along with our normal strips. But since he has obviously spent some time on it, I wanted to post in our news section at least:

This strip is beautiful! If it weren’t for the formating and the fact it said guest strip, I would have thought this was drawn by Powree.
Beautifully done. Love the Cloud vs Sephiroth (complete with One-Winged Angel playing the background) theme. It’s just so fitting and so evil. For future reference, remind me not the spar with or piss off Larisa.
That fan strip is perfect. I could easily see that happening in the main comic.
As for the main comic..yeah, boys his age can be pretty dense. Hell, boys of ANY age can be pretty dense. I should know, I’m a boy and I’m dense, and I’ll be 31 on Wednesday.

Wow! A great comic! I can’t believe I forgot about the guest strip part. I meant to do one to show my love for the comic, but I’ve been so busy with my MA project, I forgot. Maybe I’ll just do one for the future. =P

how strange that it would be the only one, though! next time I see an appeal go out I’ll have to break out the crayolas and make Sandra And Woo: Stick Figure Theatre or something

The style is indeed similar to Powree’s. One thing does stand out, though; the proportions are slightly different, altering the kids’ apparent ages. The effect is most pronounced for Larisa, who looks perhaps 13-14 in this image (her canted-hip posture contributes a *lot*), and least for Sandra, who still looks around 12-13. Cloud actuallys look a little younger; there’s no full-body standing pose for him, and the two where he’s upright are drawn from a low camera perspective, which obfuscates it further.
