Nice rendering of Horton!
At first, I thought the second one was a “woo doctor”, or someone who practices “alternative medicine” or “new age” medicine. I’m glad we have comments here, otherwise the first one would have been the only one I would have gotten. I love “Woo watches the Watchmen”. 🙂
Nice Puns, took me a moment to get the second one, but the first was quick and the last, that was brilliant! Woo watches the Watchmen…hehe…funny stuff…I have a friend who’s gonna love the middle joke, she’s a huge doctor who fan…Doctor Woo…heh…
ahhahahahahaaa i get it now thanks curb. now…for me to answer a question from the movie
“if the watchmen watch us .. who watchs the watchmen?”-something along those lines is a qwote from the movie-
woo watchs the watchmen
lol….
If I hadn’t read the strip’s title, I wouldn’t have realized you were going for puns at all. After that, I got all but the last one without assistance — because I thought they were all just titles, not phrases.
Reading all the comments, it seems that some people saw different puns than other people did… like a Rorschach test for puns. So is Rorschach in the comic another pun?
Woo wanted to corner the market on a certain orange-flavored breakfast drink. Unfortunately, it was all terribly complex and he had to write it all down. What did he decide to call it?
TLV, you don’t need to see Watchmen (and you shouldn’t, you should READ it) to get this. “Who watches the watchmen?” is a phrase dating back to ancient Rome – and, for those who don’t know, it only appears in Watchmen as a recurring piece of graffiti (which I think the original Latin was as well, possibly?). It’s never used as a line, but it is the source of the title.
The first one you can only get it if you are a native english, Why? because in ther countries the name of the book gets translated and the Who-Woo pun is lost.
The third one is too dificult, I got it but I think you would hav to know the “who watch the watch men” say.
I got it because Novil Said “at least now woo wacth the watchmen”
And this is geting so many comics becaus It is not so simple!!!
Its funny to “think” and then to Laugh. Its like those “can you see the….” picture
horton hears a woo, doctor woo, woo watches the watchmen. puns on horton hears a who, doctor who, and who watches the watchmen. 😀 awsome, took me a while 2 work the watchmen one out. >.<
I love this, thus I must hate it?
All I can say is.. Woot. <3
Feels a wee bit too much like filler for my likings but at least it’s nicely drawn.
@ColdFusion: Not “Woot”, “Woo” 😛
Steely Dan reference? Officially Best Comic Ever now.
I get the first two, Horton Hears a “Woo” and Doctor “Woo”, but what is the third one supposed to be??
Addition to my last comment: I never saw Watchmen so maybe that’s why I’m missing the pun?
@ Oddling: Well, at least Woo is now watching the Watchmen… 😉
The last one is “Woo” watches the Watchmen. From the Latin “Qui custodiet ipsos custodes?”, or “Who will watch the watchmen?”
Is that 2nd one a “Dr. Who” Woo or “Are You With Me Dr. Woo” by Steely Dan? Also too much like filler.
Can someone explain me the first?
The last one took me a moment, but I got it.
Lauma, the first is Horton Hears a Woo, a popular children’s book by Dr Seus.
Hehehe, I thought the puns were good
When I saw the second one, I thought of Steel Dan’s “Doctor Who”. Even if it wasn’t the intended pun, its still awesome.
HA :D!!!
Wow, I felt like I EARNED the right to laugh at this one (though I never would have got it without the written hint). Nicely done!
Haha, I especially love the last one. “Woo watches the Watchmen” 😛
Nice rendering of Horton!

The middle one is my fav. I have never seen Woo with such a smug face before
Horton Hears a Woo. Doctor Woo. Woo Watches the Watchmen.
Christ on a unicycle, Novil, you should be ashamed of yourself.
I got all the references without reading the comments! WOO!
Well Novil, you promised more Woo and you delivered! I definitely hate to love and love to hate these cheesy way to give us a Woo-fix. Lol.
well… the guy in that frame of watchmen is rorscach thats as far as i can guess lmao
.. all three of them together is another pun ..
Woo can it be now – Men At Work song, 1981
Nice Puns, took me a moment to get the second one, but the first was quick and the last, that was brilliant! Woo watches the Watchmen…hehe…funny stuff…I have a friend who’s gonna love the middle joke, she’s a huge doctor who fan…Doctor Woo…heh…
I love puns. *thumbs up* I jus thought of one: “What Woo you do for a Klondike bar?”
ahhahahahahaaa i get it now thanks curb. now…for me to answer a question from the movie

Boooooooo… for Puns 😛
I loved the puns! Although that last one did make me groan when I finally got it. 😀
Liked this one, proves that text bubbles aren’t needed to make a good strip.
and i don’t understand how people manages to relate this to a filler. how do you get fillers in a comic strip??!
Woo are you? Woo woo, woo woo.
Thanks for the explanation, napkins. I get it now! 🙂
Horton hears a Woo, got that.
Doctor Woo, got that too.
I don’t get the third one. Still haven’t gotten around to watching Watchmen.
“woo” watches the watchmen, took me a second to get the last one
I’m surprised this strip gets so many comments. I didn’t think there was much to talk about.
Have to agree that Woo in the second picture looks just perfect. I would like to get that one biggger, or colored or something like that…
Would the Dr. “woo” one have been less confusing if it had shown Woo entering the TARDIS?
Here’s one:
Woo wanted to corner the market on a certain orange-flavored breakfast drink. Unfortunately, it was all terribly complex and he had to write it all down. What did he decide to call it?
The Woo-Tang Plan.
Novil you are so cheesy xD.I love this strip,I instantly knew what each one was.

horton hears a woo, doctor woo, woo watches the watchmen. puns on horton hears a who, doctor who, and who watches the watchmen. 😀 awsome, took me a while 2 work the watchmen one out. >.<
The second one… is such a groaner… D:
Ah well, still entertaining. 🙂
Woo-t!
(Woo’s on first?)
Thanks to the commenting community for explaining this 😀
I like Rorschach’s ‘:3’ face.
