I thought the “Doctor Woo” was “Dr. Woolittle” (Dolittle)
Woo as Roger Daltry of The WOO. 😛
We could so easily have had “Dr. Woolittle”.
…”If I could walk with the animals. Talk with the animals…” (But, from Woo’s POV, would the ‘animals’ be Humans?)
For those of us too slow to get ALL three puns, it is in order:
Hortin hears a Woo
Doctor Woo
Woo watches the Watchmen
My respects for drawing Rorschach so good. Hell, my respects for drawing him at all!
I’m just rereading all these strips…
Is that supposed to be ‘Woo’gie Houser MD?
[I like Neil Patrick Harris.]
It took me longer then I care to admit to finally get these jokes.. but now I can’t stop smiling. Gotta love ‘picture puns’.
Heh, Horton Hears a Woo is the one that took me the longest. Love it! You get three snaps in Z-formation!
Heh, new to the comic love it so far, i get horton hears a who, but the other two, not so much, i watch doctor who if thats what the second one is buuuut its to vague XD and the 3rd i dont get at all, i may watch alot of the popular shows, but explanations when you make puns on them does help alot =3
WOOtchman I think
I caught ’em all instantly. -Thank- you for the second panel.
Horton Hears a Woo
Doctor Woo
Woo Watches the Watchmen
I think the one at the end that wee keep missing is: “Woo is watching”
@ Oddling:
Woo Watches The Watchmen LOL
@ Oddling:
wootch-men
Horton Hears a Woo
Doctor Woo
Woo Watches the Watchmen 😛
okay i get the first two panels but the last one o’ tha’ dude from Watchmen……i dont get at all…..can someone plz explain to this Irish lass, what it means?
Doctor Woo!
Doctor Woo….. I like that. I can so see Woo in a bow tie and fez.
@ Oddling:
“Woo watches the watchmen??”
@ St.Patric:
you dont get filler in a comic strip…fillers are reserved for when an anime starts to overtake the manga. so this is no filler, and is a very puny one to be sure….*cringes at own pun* sorry ya had to hear that….
Wolf in bears Clothing (its the last thing they’d suspect)
@ Oddling:
It’s an old expression, “Who watches the watchmen?”, which is meant to say that even the police force must be policed in order to avoid corruption. Oddly enough, that’s actually a major point in the “Watchmen” film and books.
@ Oddling:
Watchmen was and still is a comic book first. Read that first.
Is this also a reference to the lame pun coon?
This strip is bloody brilliant!!
/squee AHH! Alan Moore! I was instructed to read The Watchmen by my father when I was a kid. Of course the movie doesn’t do it proper justice but still! You’ve officially stolen my heart.
@ Oddling:
Woo Watches the Watchers. At least, that’s what I think it is.
… Non-sequitur much.
Even with the explanation of all three images in the comments, I can’t help but wonder whether this is supposed to be funny or not. I really can’t tell.
Ithought the second panel was a Jurrasic Park reference with Dr Henry Wu (pronounced literally ‘Woo’), but I can’t decide between that and Dr. Who, since Wu was an actual scientist and doctor with a lab coat.

@ KzT:
::sings a la Steely Dan::
Are you with me, Doctor Woo?
Are you really just a shadow of the ‘coon that I once knew?…
I think I got this…
Panel 1: Horton Hears a Woo. (Horton Hears a Who)
Panel 2: Doctor Woo. (Doctor Who)
Panel 3: Woo watches the watchmen. (“Who watches the watchmen?”)
@ Sedrosken:
Uhmmmmm… I didn’t read all the comments or the tags before I posted that last one…
Sedrosken wrote:
… I guess that makes sense… unless like me, you pronounce “Woo” drastically different to “Who” … in which case none of it makes much sense at all.
@ Zaiki:
If your name starts with Z, it seems you didn’t think this was too much filler, and was awesome.
I thought the middle one was “Dr. Woolittle”. 😛
Suggestions for a similar strip: Woo Let the Dogs Out?, Woo’s On First?. Anyone else have any suggestions?
Human bean juice.
… next comic
Watchmen references are always welcome
