If you missed the news posted the day before yesterday: The first trade paperback collection of Sandra and Woo, entitled The Woo, is out! I don’t want to repeat all the details about it already mentioned there, but apart from all strips published from 19 October 2008 to 30 November 2009 it contains, among other things, up to three drafts of each strip.
The book cover is also available as a poster (and on some other products, for example on a mousepad) in our store! Of course without the captions on it.
–––
Today’s strip is the first one of a new story arch that will at least cover the whole of December. This means that we won’t publish a Christmas strip, for example, to not interrupt the storyline.
- Sandra: Hey Lis, I’ve come up with a stunning plan!
- Larisa: Really? Does your plan involve smooching with pretty eyed boys or torching an abandoned building?
- Sandra: Nah. It involves exploring an abandoned building th–
- Larisa: –at we might – purely accidentally, of course – set on fire during our exploration?
- Sandra: No!
- Larisa: Dang.
- Sandra: But I’m sure Cloud will be joining us, too. So there’s at least one cute boy involved.
- Larisa: That’s great, Sandy. You’re serving me two pieces of cake, and I’m not allowed to eat either one.

Again a story arc about Sandra and friends? I like to see more Woo! But I will have patience. But about this strip. He’s really nice one. I like the look on Larisa’s face in the second window. It’s so hopefull. And Sandra is so mean to destroy all her hopes….

Loves setting things on fire? I could easily be her friend.

Me and Liz would get along well. And don’t worry, i’ll be a good boy and avoid making any perverted jokes about this comic (BUT YOU SET ME UP XD!!!!)
Bert says: Again a story arc about Sandra and friends? I like to see more Woo! But I will have patience.
Woo was featured in six of the last eight strips. I really thought that would be enough Woo for a while.
Enzeru Kagai says: And don’t worry, i’ll be a good boy and avoid making any perverted jokes about this comic
Yeah, that’s probably better. Larisa will already make enough perverted jokes herself in the future. xD

Burning things down is fun ^^. But try to restrain yourself, you can easily be sent to jail for that.
A plan to explore an abandon building doesn’t seen very stunning (still really fun), but I can’t wait to see how it will come together and “Sandy”… I didn’t know that Larisa had a nickname for Sandra.

@Novil: Larisa is going to make perverted jokes?
For some reason I’m looking forward to this XD’
Is there a reason why Larissa called Sandra Sandy?
(Did I forget something?)
Also, just because the joke is obvious:
In before: the cake is a lie! … >_>’

After Monday’s strip, I thought today would be something about Christmas, albeit the religious side of Christmas. Good to see Larisa again though, even if she is making fun of Sandra by deliberately shortening her name.

I meant that “Woo and friends” last story arc ended at 083. We have seen since then Woo but his friends also want a litle strip-time.

Committing arson (burning down an abandoned burning) is no laughing matter in RL. This past summer the city of Lewiston, Maine came very close to losing the core of the city when some kids torched an abandoned shoe mill dating to the mid-1800’s on a windy day. It wasn’t the outstanding work of the fire department alone that kept the fire from taking out everything down wind of it. It was all the onlookers on the roof tops who were watching a piece of history burn to the ground, who, in turn, were noticing all the cinders landing/smoldering on their own roofs and scrambled to grab fire extinguishers/water to put out their own fires. The next mill over, that stretches for nearly a half-mile and also abandoned, started to catch, but miraculously, the fire department was able to contain that blaze.
The original structure burned for over 24 hours. More than two dozen other buildings, some a mile (1.6km) downwind, had roof damage from burning cinders.
Arrests have been made, but no trial yet. On the positive side, the city is finally taking action to dismantle the larger, fire damage mill.

Exploration of old buildings, the urbanites alternative to spelunking! =^^=
Just be careful of putting your feet through the floor!

Of course, Tbolt! Not going to be too many caves lying around, are there?
Well, Sandra does not want to explore that building for the sake of exploring itself.

Larisa can be subtle, but only if she wants to…
I guess the picture shows a flowery meadow with a picnic in it. The flowers are painted with lively reds and yellows, and the picnic contains all of Cloud’s favourite foodstuffs.
I wonder if she manages to get it between her dad’s pictures to let him sell it.

Darn it, mystery penguin! I thought for a second I could read through the whole comment page without a “cake is a lie” joke… so that I could make a crack about it myself.
Also, yay for Larisa!

“…that would be enough Woo for a while.”
Never. (Even if he has to break the fourth wall and do a Mortal Kombat thing, like popping his head up in the lower-right corner and call out “Woo! Woo”…I mean, “Whoosie!”)
As for the building…reminds me of a low budget sci-fi movie, released from over the last year. They sent a bunch of actors, dressed in soldier uniforms into an (obviously) abandoned factory building to shoot it out with (computerized…I think.) monster/aliens. Copy this idea. There you go. The film gives them the right to explore the abandoned building, have some ‘pretty eyed boys’ smooching AND blowing the place to kingdom come.
Creativity: There’s always a way to satisfy everyone.

I like the fact that Larisa’s face lights up (no pun intended) at the notion of the old building old to get shot down by something more rational by Sandra.Gotta love those chaotic neutrals, they keep things interesting and in perspective. Also,I’m not making any cake jokes because they just aren’t that fun to do anymore.Let’s do some peels jokes :’D.

I want to say that if Larissa don’t find a boyfriend I am all up. Haha. Joking. But seriously, call me… ok?
Also, why don’t she just ask him out? Or tell him. Guys are always dense and slow. Diamond-dense and continental-movement-slow. You have to stick out for yourself, girl, or face hundreds of comedy/romance/drama strips, muaahahahahaha.
Also, I wouldn’t want to see Cloud with anyone else.
Larissa, call me. Seriously…

Too bad Larisa isn’t left-handed.
But I bet she’s either atheist or ignostic.
