Sandra, Woo and Larisa
No, I won’t change the name of our comic, but I’m currently having so many ideas for strips featuring Larisa that she will basically become the third main character in the next time. That’s also a surprise to me, since at the beginning she was the character I had the least ideas for.
But in the meantime I have come up with a much more detailed personal background for her that goes beyond the concept of “she likes to set things on fire”. I’m sure there will be a few readers who won’t like the way she acts or who will consider it inappropriate for her age, but I can assure – without wanting to reveal too much already – that she’s having her reasons for behaving like that.
being a big fan of characters like non sequitur’s danae (and even gina from dennis the menace) makes me interested in what you could do with larisa, especially in regards to the idea of “what makes a bad girl tick”. by all means, go for it. watching how sandra and larisa play against each other thus far has been a blast (especially that little trick she played in hogging cloud’s attention a few months ago)… yeah…getting inside larisa’s mind. could be a cautionary tale somewhere in there.i’ll be looking forward to seeing how it will be revealed.
Heh, I feel the same way about naming my comic “The Kenny Chronicles”. I feel like I have to keep it centered on Kenny. Thankfully, I have a definite end for that series(in a few years, before it wears out), and the sequel’s name(still a secret) will allow for more main characters.
Sometimes, you don’t know how well the name fits until a few years into the series.
You know, I may not like the way that Larisa acts, but she’s a fantastic character! Having all your characters be saints and angels doesn’t make for an interesting story, and that’s coming from a guy who writes Christian fantasy.
Cool. More Larisa. The first time I saw her character try to burn down the school, I knew she’d be my favorite.
Well, I think it should be changed to “Larisa and Shadow”, but that’s just me. 😉
I too,am interested in why Larisa acts the way she does beyond being a chaotic neutral, especially with how she seems to intentionally annoy her mother.
Well, “Kudzu” rarely features Kudzu anymore, and “Barney Google and Snuffy Smith” probably hasn’t had Barney in decades….
