The current story arc started with this strip: Two Pieces of Cake.
- Sandra: Cloud.
- Cloud: Sandra.
- Larisa: CLOUD! SANDRA! COME DOWN HERE! YOU GOTTA CHECK THIS OUT!
- Sandra: What’s up? Did you find the Holy Grail?
- Larisa: Yeah, that too…
- Larisa: … But first of all this.

I hate to sound anything like a pedant, but I LOVE Arthurian legend, and…
From what I remember, the sword in the stone is not the same as Excalibur. Arthur wielded the sword in the stone until it was broken in a duel with the black knight ( whose limbs were NOT sliced off) and Merlyn told him to go to the lady of the lake to recieve Excalibur.
( coincidentally, the sword isn’t magic. The scabbard is, and it made Arthur invulnerable when he wore it
“I can help you find the most Holy Grail! . . . To the north there lies a cave — the cave of Kyre Banorg — wherein, carved in mystic runes upon the very living rock, the last words of Ulfin Bedweer of Regett proclaim the last resting place of the most Holy Grail.”
Larisa, The Romance Breaker 😀
I think they are getting hitched this weekend…arent they?/
I was very pleased to find this website. I wanted to thank you for your time for this wonderful post!! I definitely enjoy reading it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you blog post.

Which is not how William I, Henry VII, William III and a few others got to be King of England, although they did get the coronation.
Is it just me or does this comic have a lot to do with vents?
So, the question becomes…what happened to the Grail after this strip? Did Larisa travel to the Holy Land to hide it in the ancient ruins of a necropolis? Did she hide clues to its location in various locations around the world? Did she simply drink from it to cure her afflictions? Did she put pretty flowers in it? Does she keep weapons-grade uranium in it?
So many questions…
And I think everyone’s beaten the sword in the stone vs Excalibur vs ruler of the United Kingdom vs the Holy Grail into submission.
They are SO way too young for that…
@ maark30:
Actually, Excalibur just makes you unable to lose a battle, and it’s scabbard made you invincible. Given to Arthur by the Lady in the Lake. The sword that had the “rightful kingship” thing attached was Caliburn, the sword in the (anvil in the) stone.
@ Kazekage:
Knowing her? She put lighter fluid in it and melted it down.
