Why Italy? Why not?
Sandra and Woo updates three times this week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- Sid: Hey, what are you two doing?
- Woo: The same thing we do every night, Sid – try to save the world!
- Sid: And? Any progress yet?
- Shadow: Yes, Sir. We have just come to the conclusion that, for a start, we must eat at least one squirrel to boost the economy.
- Sid: That’s what you think! I’ll pursue all possible leg actions to thwart your nefarious scheme!
- Woo: Don’t be so selfish! Just think of all the starving children in Italy!
- Shadow: Great, yet another elaborate plan to save the world ruined by dirty lobbying…
- Woo: Yeah, no wonder that more and more people lose confidence in our political system.

A squirrel rights lobby? That is something I need to see :3
lol i like the Pinky and The Brain referance.
They look like the powerful elder leader type peoples standing around that stump like that. xD
Excellent expressions too.
Ide vote for em. :3
The top panel is beautiful.
Agreed, Chris. It’s GORGEOUS.
Pink and the Brain, yay.
Great strip, sutnning visuals, and it’s funny.
but I get where the plan failled: instead of “starving children of Italy”, woo should have said “Economy of Greece”. Makes more sense, nowadays 😀
Again, congratulations!!
Don’t be so selfish Sid! It’s for the greater good of the economy, and soon the world!
Heh. I can’t believe noboy’s gotten the reference to An American Tail.
I guess there are starving children anywhere, eh? *shrug*
First panel is, indeed, awesome. 🙂
I think Woo has never been in Italy, as Italian I can assure you that children starving is not a common sight 😀
Great comic too 😀
Is that supposed to say “All possible legal actions”?
anyone else humming the theme song now?
Love the first panel! Well drawn and a Pinky and the Brain reference. 🙂
“…all possible leg actions” I think means he’s going to run like ____! 😉
I like today’s incentive sketch too! I really want to see that one with text.
Well, there’s a non sequitur if I ever saw one.
Oh lol XD
Sid is Larry!!! XDDD
Woos gesture and facial expression in the last pannel actually reminds me of a politician…
But I can’t remember
woowho …no, wait… it actually reminds me of Brain O_O’
Anyone else thinks that also the difference in size between Shadow and Woo is the same as between Pinky and Brain?!?
yes >,>”’
I miss the old shows… *sob*
This is so wierd… I had that theme song stuck on my head all morning BEFORE I checked the comic.
Thats it, no more TV reruns before bed.
hmmm…about today’s strip….
NARF!
Wow. Woo looks positively diabolical in that last panel.
I really do love strips with political connotation, and well timed too! Especially since lobbyists managed to get a bill on peer-to-peer file sharing up for vote without it going through parliament.
Ha-ha, great P&tB reference. Great comic to start my Friday morning with.
Take one for the team Sid.
Italy?? But… …
I thought they had all the Italian food??
*gasp* Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! My life is a lie!! *sob* *Sob*
:p
@Someone:
Once again, Larry leaves the group.
Firedome, you beat me to it… NARF! (Shadow as Pinky… interesting.)
Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
I’m humming the theme to Pinky and the Brain now…I CANT STOP
Come to think of it, it was Sid who came closest to uttering Pinky’s starting question.
Quite a bit going on reference-wise though. Between that and the expressions, this is definitely of the the better stand-alone strips.
@ Frank: Are you talking about the original AAT movie? I still don’t get the reference, and I watched that movie many times… when I was about Fievel’s age.
Egad Ollie, that’s brilliant! Oh, no, wait. If they eat a squirrel that boosts the economy of India, not Italy, and that just throws the entire scheme out of kilter. Maybe if they eat a chipmunk instead?
It would be nice to see a political system that didn’t require diligent faith. Also if it didn’t require its squirrely man kind to sacrifice themselves for whatever cause… This is starting to sound like a dark religious cult rather than a political party. -_-
@Tom Flapwell: If I remember correctly, the scene goes
Fievel: But I don’t want to eat it!
Mama: I don’t want to hear about it! Eat it now! Just think of all the starving mice in St. Petersburg! What wouldn’t they give for something like that!
Tony: (Whispering to Fievel) My mama used the same trick, but her starving mice were from Sicily
Everybody pick on the squirrel now. Sheesh
Of course, they’re always joking when comes to eating him, right?(excluding the Oreo commercial)
EPIC WIN. I love all of the facial expressions!
The idea of people starving in Europe….strange. Well, starving, homeless, poor are everywhere, but Europe is a quite well-doing place, even after crisis. If speaking of African starving has already become boring – you can call it Russia\Ukraine\Georgia starving. That’ll be more precise.
Thank you! ^^
I already thought no one would remember him XD
Time to get more Oreos… 😀
*Walking through the forest, talking to camera*
“Hello, everyone. I know that with today’s economy crisis, you, like me, are probably wondering, ‘what can I do to help the world?’ Well, now, even the poorest among us can do our part.”
*Stops, kneels, and puts his hand on Sid’s shoulder*
“All you have to do is eat a squirrel, like little Sid here, and you too can help save the world.”
Sid: “Uh–”
BE A HERO. SAVE THE WORLD. EAT A SQUIRREL TODAY.
:3
Okay, this is really stupid and is prolly going to get removed due to low ratings, but I was just looking at the paw gestures in the last three panels and I came up with alternate dialogue. Please don’t hit me.
Panel 1
Sid: Hey, what are you two doing?
Woo: We’re balancing movement lines in our open paws.
Panel 2
Sid: Wow, cool beans! Can I learn?
Shadow: Sorry, little buddy, this is a skill for predators only.
Panel 3
Sid: No fair! The only trick I know is making my ears smoke!
Woo: Sorry, not our problem. Oops, dropped my line.
Panel 4
Shadow: I guess he’s off to learn his own tricks.
Woo: Why can’t I hold onto these dang movement lines? Look, I dropped another one!
Narf FTW XD
Also great update.
@Solario the Visored
What the… XD”’ words fail me again… *shakes head*
I won’t hit you but srsly, drink less coke or coffee or whatever XD
(btw: is your avatar an Hollow-Espeon ??? o_Ô )
Also, to boost world economy and to lower green house gas I recommend to keep voting for Sandra and Woo ^^
In this case there is no need to eat squirrels 😛
The Pinky and the Brain… And here I thought the world (minus me) completely forgot about that show…
loving it, and as I continue to wade through the archives I am impressed by the evolution of your story skills. Still not the BEST comic I have ever read but getting farther and farther away from the worst. Just thinking that where the rules forbid criticism of the content, does that include constructive criticism? because my comments aren’t always full on fan-mail but I do love the job you’re doing.
leg action?
@ Alectric:
no, it was a joke.
Hey for just about all of you struggling to get that girl you’ve always desired, my best advice is learn how to talk dirty to women. You need to also have a positive and confident frame of mind towards gals to win them over. I actually have picked up a lot of ladies and read a huge amount of adult dating guides. So go on it from me, if you can learn these three factors, you’ll be able to pick up just about any girl you want.
They’er Shadow and The Woo,
They’er Shadow and The Woo
One is a Fox, The other’s a Ra-coon
Pinky and the Brain!!!! i love ’em!!!
p.s. i’m italian, here there aren’t many starving children, but I guess that pretty everywhere there are some poor children starving
sry for bad english ^^
@ Daniele:
To be honest, I think just because you don’t see em doesn’t mean there are none.
Homeless are everywhere, here in italy too (yes I am italian) and even though I have thought “Why Italy” as well, I know that not everyone is wealthy as much as I am!
Why is Sid a European Red Squirrel anyway? And what is such a squirrel doing… in the comic’s setting… alone? We barely even have any of those left in Britain due to the verminous greys.
Think about unemployed guys, too… They are much more than starving children, here in Italy…
