So, who’s already looking forward to the World Cup in South Africa? Since there will be a story arc about a different topic going on during its course, I wanted to do at least a football related strip in anticipation of it.
My tip for the winning team of the World Cup is Spain. Spain does not only have some of the best individual players, but they also work together brilliantly as a team, as can be seen by their Euro 2008 title and their impressive record during the World Cup qualification round. They won all 10 games in their group, which included such strong teams as Bosnia and Turkey.
Sandra and Cloud are obviously not thrilled about Woo’s performance as their goalkeeper, but I’m sure England could only profit from putting him in before a penalty shootout.
<– *has just eliminated half of his English readership*
Someone has an alternative version of “… and easily leaps Philipp Lahm’s tackle.” ? I’m not really happy with the way it sounds, but I’m lacking the English football vocabulary.
- Justin: Lionel Messi takes the ball…
- Justin: Brilliant one-two with Andrei Arshavin!
- Justin: Feints right… and avoids Philipp Lahm’s sliding tackle.
- Justin: And Messi shoots!
- Justin: Oh no! The ball bounces off…
- Justin: … and slowly rolls towards the goal.
- Justin: Goooooooooooooooooal!!
- Woo: ?
- Sandra: We need to sign a new goalkeeper!

So first Andrew and now Justin, Larisa is a Black Widow
By the Way, GO CHILE!!!
I cannot wait for the World Cup. I’m Irish, so I want bad things to happen to France.
Love Woo in the last panel.
I, for one, can’t wait untill the english team looses, and I can stop hearing about the worlds most overated game.
Does every other country have to put up with the flags everywhere too?
Loved Woo though, he like me just doesn’t get the appeal.
VIVA MEXICO!, yes we can dream….or who knows maybe not.
yeah mexico has a great team, plus we love football
Cool action sequence bro!
I myself am not interested in football, but still love this strip and I wish doog time for you all during the cup.
BTW realy? Did Sandra at least tell Woo what he should’ve been doin in the first place? XD
Justin is the second boy in S&W whom I’ve mistaken for a girl until someone used a telltale name or pronoun.
No.
Well, it’s sometimes even quite hard to tell in real life if a kid with medium long hair is a boy or a girl.
Football (as everyone knows It exept for Yankees) is the Passion Play of our times, of course things goes mad once in a while since everyone is in extasis but the thing were the same in ancient pagan religions.
In fact, Football should remplace War as a way to solve political conflicts. =D
Ah may be from the U.S., but ah ain’t no danged yankee!
Yeah; any kind of football is better than war.
if that is footbal, then what is soccer?
by the way, in brasil we refere to that as football, and refere to the other football, that one in wich north americans play in college, as american football.
here on brazil, E-V-E-R-Y kid plays football, i am the only one that dont play it.
there is the occasional case in wich somebody dont like that much, but i simply cant stand it.
fortunatly there are so many things that i cant stand in my day-to-day life, that i am already used to them.
Brazilian Caos, nearly 80% of the world play football (yeah, Chinese too) The only big country aisolated from this game is U.S.A with their baseball and Rugby-like Football.
Well maybe in burma the dont play, but this game have something i dont know that make everyone become a fan
Ah may be from the U.S., but ah ain’t no danged yankee!
Yeah; any kind of football is better than war.
I’m loving Woo’s confused expression as he watches the ball roll past. :3
I don’t think footie is the best way to resolve conflicts short of war, because there was a war started over the result of a football match!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_War
Some people just don’t seem to be able to resolve conflicts without violence.
Just some lines into the article, Wikipedia states that: “Although the nickname “Football War” implies that the conflict was due to a football game, the causes of the war go deeper.”
Sometimes not only checking the headlines makes the cake.
As of this date (6th August, 2010), the World Cup had ended almost a month ago. And guess what? Spain went back home – with the trophy.
Congrats mate. Give yourself a prize. You’re officially psychic.
Larissa, kissing girls seance May 2010
Its funny cause the more of this i see the more i think Sandra looks like Roll not Penny like someone else said a few comics back. still quite fun to read.

I believe it was English Public School (which means not state funded) rugby-playing schoolboys, who called their own game rugger and the other game, soccer, from association.
@ wasneeplus:
well, between the author and you, the final has been covered
