[0178] Hit Boy

[0178] Hit Boy

This is the first strip of the inevitable Kick-a*s inspired story arc featuring Cloud and his mother Ye Thuza. I think this strip works quite well even if you have not seen the movie (which you totally should!). If you are interested in the controversial Hit-Girl character played by Chloë G. Moretz this Hit-Girl trailer at YouTube gives you a very good impression of her.

This month there will be no new vote incentives at TopWebcomics.

  • Cloud: … and after Hit-Girl did that sideflip my mom said…
  • Ralph: Huh, Hit-Girl from Kick-a*s? Your mom lets you watch R rated superhero movies?
  • Cloud: To say that she lets me “watch” Kick-a*s would be quite an understatement…
  • Cloud: This jump is impossible! It must be a special effect!
  • Ye Thuza: Don’t give up so easily, buster! You just need more momentum. That’s all!

Ye’s right. After all the things Cloud did in AC, I’d say he’d eat that girl for breakfast :-)

The comic will always be so much better, I dont want to sound snoby but thats is true.

But the movie is Awsome, you know I still going to see “Capitain America” and “Thor”, cause even if they are horrible (like all the adaptations of Alan Moore) I will always like them, also Kick-a*s is too awsome in 2d and in 3d kicks a***s!!!

PD: My parents allow my brothers and sisters to see R rated films just if they promise not have nightmares or t”raumatical” behaivour. My Dad seems to have bad drreams after seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2

Gerardo, Neither Thor nor Captain dumb are adaptations of Alan *Praise him* Moore’s comics not that he likes movie adaptations of his novels anyway.

havent seen hit-hirl but this strip TOTALLY makes justice of how I though cloud’s family would be…

The old Karate Kid had Wax on and wax off.
The new one has jacket on and jacket off.

Cloud has… jump, somersault, spin, slash with weapon mid-air, flying kick, land ON table.
Kick, knee, vault over target, back slash with weapon mid-air, Limit Break, land OFF in the distance.
    Will Smith’s kid wouldn’t stand a chance.

    Definitely a great strip!
I’ve only seen previews for “Kick a*s” but it looks worthwhile. If it’s as good as “Mystery Men” it definitely is! :-)

Cloud intents to be Kick-a*s or just Cloud as really fan of Hit-girl?
But if Cloud was hero…it’s interesting for see that! Larisa will be Hit-girl, because she have the same personality like her

snowsoul: Ye’s right. After all the things Cloud did in AC, I’d say he’d eat that girl for breakfast

I doubt that, because Hit-Girl’s daddy also trained (brainwashed…) her to be ruthless, cold and calculative. Cloud hasn’t shown (yet) that he’s capable of switching gears from his normal, quite emotional self to steel-cold battle mindset in an instant. If he can’t do that he’ll be in trouble at first when faced with a girl-enemy.

    Argh XD’
and again I can make half my comment from quotes since a big part is already said :P
Maybe I should be awake at midnight when the update comes ^^’
(Yes, at this time It’s midnight here :P )

Shippou-chan: I bet he doesn’t believe in Limit Breaks either… Can’t wait to see THAT practiced.

I had this very thought! But I guess they are already over this ^^
At the other hand he seemed close to his Limit Break somewhere in between the CloudxSandra-shipper thing :P

coyoteBR: Great strip. A word of advice, Cloud… never watch Kill Bill with Ye Thuza

Well, in comparison… and dispite that no one is using firearms Kill Bill is relatively realistic…
Can’t remember anything from Kill Bill that would actually break the laws of physics.
Or did I miss something? o_ô

Also a good thing that Matrix ‘explains’ that it’s not real XD”’
What’s left…? “Bulletproof Monk” is one that comes to my mind right now XD
It’s good dispite the crappy B-Movie-like title. Whoever gave it that title should be hit with a fish… (no connection to the movie. I say that every time)
    Any other (un)realistic movies? ^^

I’m also adding “kick-a*s” to my ‘have-to-watch’ list… right behind some Anime :-x

See, this is what I like about this site.
I have not seen the movie. I have no idea what scene they’re talking about. And yet, I still find it funny. Good webcomics like that are hard to find.

Jupp. Think about the fight with the long-bearded master in the cherryblossom grove. Standing on the other’s sword tip… I didn’t lean about that in my physics lessons.

But yes, that’s the only one unrealistic thing I could think of, besides the morningstar-on-a-chain from the Gogo Yubari fight. Even if this was made physically correct, I don’t think anyone could survive a morningstar bouncing off your chest after a full-speed impact.

What is it about Hit Girl that makes us want our kids to be her? On the way from the theater to the car, my husband told my daughter she was getting a balisong and would learn how to use it or else! Of course, being that she’s 14, that’s a different sort of scary.

PD: And please dont make this into a DC vs Marvel, I like Capitan America (aka Capitan Alitas)

please remember we are talking about a person who managed to find a tonberry and killed it while exploring a factory. I don’t think the laws of realism apply to her, she probibly would succeed, dispite it being impossible.
