The current story arc started with this strip: Hit-Boy.
Haha, I have no idea how you correctly pronounce the names of the Burmese cities I’m referring to in my strips.
- Larisa: Don’t worry, Ralphy. As long as you don’t support the Burmese junta you’ll be perfectly safe.
- Cloud: … I dunno, Liz. Ever since that “incident” in Myitkyina, she certainly also has it in for drug traffickers.
- Brandon: Sup, bro?
- Ralph: You’re still dealing?! Stop this sh#t!!

I get a million points for spotting cloud in the window in the last panel 🙂
What worries me is that cloud followed him home, a little creepy.
What, you never followed a friend home to make sure he got there safe?
Well, Cloud may have noticed Ralph got worried of a sudden… and is estabelished before he’s not the sharpest pencil in the box… heck, it’s stabelished now, with his screaming to his siblings to stop dealing at full lungs in broad daylight.
Anyway, good development of what started as a couple of funny gags into a promissing arc.
We also get to see Ralph as a deeper character now, should make other encounters with him more interesting.
Not without them knowing.
Cloud is going to grow up to be a superhero.
Cloud already is a superhero.
Is it just me or does Brandon look like an evil and grown up Ron Stoppable?
I’d love to see Ralph explain his reasons for his bro to stop XD
“You don’t understand! Cloud’s mom is going to ninja in here and beat up everybody!!”
I wonder if Cloud and Larisa set him up to expose his brother. Or maybe it’s all a coincidence. I spotted Cloud as well, I get a free internet.
This seems like it’s going to unfold into a great, interesting story, and somehow fitting in some lulz along the way.
Behold cloud’s tree climbing/ninja skills
So they do drugs huh, send Woo in for a talk, that should clean them up. If not, send in Cloud’s mom, about 5 min ahead of calling the ambulence and cops
Took me a while to spot him. I noticed something odd in the window but I couldn’t make out what it was. Then I read the comments saying it was Cloud’s face and I was like “Huh?” So I looked again and still couldn’t make it out. Finally I looked at his face in Panel 1 for reference, fixed his hairstyle in my mind, then when I looked back at Panel 4 I was finally able to spot his hair, and from there his face emerged. Probably just me. It’s obvious enough now that I’ve spotted it, but I just for the life of me could not make heads or tails of it at first.
okay…so when i looked out the window in panel 4, my first impression was that it was a squirrel…a second look (and a scan of the comments) made me realise that it was cloud.
excuse me…i meant panel 3.
I speculate that the next comic, Cloud tries and fails to distract his mom from going in there and utterly pwning the two druggies. The only reason she doesn’t kill them is because of Cloud’s and Ralph’s puppy-dog eyes.
Cloud’s Mom probably has him follow at least one random kid at school around all week just to see if he can do it without being noticed. It’s good stealth training!
I hadn’t even noticed that!! >.> Cloud’s earning his allowence via spy work for his mum, then? Ha!!
I don’t think Cloud’s mom is (or has put Cloud) after petty small time dealers – but, from there on he can spy leads to the big circles. Perfect training for espionage?
Poor Ralph, typical bully with bad background who only compensates for it in school.
I always like to see backgrounds and see how some characters “tick” in the background, spec this time since I never thought aboot Ralph as a friend since the last time I remember he was trying to steal Clouds MP3 in the “Major Mistake” strip.
It is wierd that Cloud followed him home (Would’ve never seen him on my own so thx for the comments on the last panel.), but we’ll just have to see how the story goes on right? :3
And suddenly Cloud was a spy. Why am I not very surprised? xD
Also, great match yesterday! Too bad we -Spain- won, huh? :B
omg, that kid on the right that isn’t cloud has such a pointy nose, and I think I know why.
No, that’s a friend of Ralph’s brother. Cloyd is on the faaaaar right, and looking thru the window 😉
>_>
<_<
Ceiling cat… Tree Cloud is wachting you deal…In first pannel they sure are playing mindgames with Ralph XD
Hmm. Maybe Cloud could talk to his Mom, and she could put the scare on these guys? She doesn’t strike me as the type to go after every small-time dealer in town (and thus draw attention to herself), but this is a special case with one of Cloud’s friends.
Also, profanity on the front page? Orly?
Whatever happens, I hope that this revelation of what scum Ralph’s brother(s) is/are, I hope it doesn’t soften him up much. It’s way too easy (And way too common) to take the revelation of complications going on in the bully’s life (Bad parents and such) and use it as an excuse to redeem the bully. I want to see Ralph’s brother get what’s coming to him, then I want to still see Ralph threatening to beat up kids on the playground for their lunch money (And then get smacked around by Cloud for it, but I digress)
I find it odd that the script says “Sh#t” but the cartoon itself doesn’t bother with censoring. Must be a finicky system.
That *is* the strongest swear word the comic has seen yet. Kinda jarring.
I lol’d
Then I srs’d.
Pretty rotten looking place he has to live, no wonder he’s had to tough up – or at least act it – to get by.
I don’t think he’s supposed to be a “friend” of Cloud, but maybe a classmate and someone Cloud is able to, in some kind of zen way, look past the outer nature of and actually be concerned for. They weren’t three pals sitting around chatting at the start of all this remember – Ralph was just walking by and WTF’d at something he overheard. Which probably would have been my reaction as well in that situation… I mean, me & my friends managed to sneak the occasional bootleg tape of films rated much higher than our actual ages or supervision levels (oh, halcyon pre-interweb days XD), but it was never parentally sanctioned. In fact, the amount of sh#t 😉 that hit the fan when dad realised his Amazon Queen tape was only half rewound was quite spectacular. So… yeah… er, where was I. Yes. Sometime bully who may not have paid attention if he wasn’t so curious about what was going on… and then was drawn in to a set of far more frightening revelations.
My guess is Cloud’s going to end up striding in there wearing some kind of (purposefully) dumb costume, somewhere between KA and HG, and attempt to lay down the smack, so to speak, only to need rescuing by his mom 😀 😀 … and Ralph may (or may not) recognise / realise it’s them, but be too dumbfounded and terrified to ever say anything.
The question is, whether mama bear will draw the line at a light asswhuppin’ or go all out in the style of the movie.
Larisa in the first panel look really weird
Answer is simple. The places which automatically link here can see swear words in the text, but can’t see them in the actual cartoon strip. Since many of these don’t like words like sh#t, Novil chooses to self-censor just to be safe.
Didn’t see this one coming. Good development on one of Cloud’s friends. Can’t wait to see what we find out about the other two.
Although Ye Thuza vs Ralph’s brother could also be interesting.
“CLOUD’S MOMMY’S GUNNA KILL RALHPYYYYYY!!!” D’:
Cookie for whoever guesses the reference first.
Obviously Cloud leveled up his, “looking like a squirrel,” skill recently
I can just say one thing:
It is absolutely impossible to predict what will happen in this storyline.
I think Cloud knows about Ralph’s brothers’ activities, and just threw that last bit in to mess with Ralph.
I’m guessing we’re going to see a little more of Ralph eh? That’s good, having a drug dealing brother can have some averse side-effects to a childhood.
Honestly, i thought i’d see Cloud’s mom in the window…
“A Christmas Story” 🙂 (and I like oatmeal-raisin cookiies! 🙂 🙂 :-))
Hm. If Cloud ends up as Hit-Boy, as the arc name suggests…
does that make Ye Thuza “Big Momma”?
Poor Ralphie.. He’s certainly learned to take Cloud’s family seriously after that MP3 player incident. (#27 – Major Mistake)
Good news is Cloud seems to be very forgiving…
Bad news is that there is a very good chance Ye Thuza would strike out against a known drug dealer…
Ralph himself is probably safe enough though. Ye Thuza seems to me more of a surgical-strike kind of rebel, and not likely to cause collateral damage.
Cookie for you! 😉
Clouds part squirell. :3
If drugs were legal and we could by them at the store, there would be less overdoses because users wouldn’t be so worried about getting caught and thinking that they have to do a lot of it at once. Also there would be less users because part of the thrill of doing drugs is because you know that you’re not supposed to do it. Less people would do drugs if it were legal because then drugs would only give you one high rather then the double high of rebelling and the regular high.
