The current story arc started with this strip: Hit-Boy.
- Yuna: Mommy, what does “motherfucker” actually mean?
- Ye Thuza: It’s an extremely offensive swear word.
- Yuna: !
- Yuna: Oooh, sorrrrrrrrrry!

ROFL!
Poor Yuna… embarassing herself live on TV, or rather video…
She is so CUTE! That family is amazing, gosh.
Hahaha! xD Thought such an expletive is too unusual for Yuna xD Now we know the truth 😀
Wonder where she learnt it though ;>
d’awwwwww :3
Does she really not know or is she just pretending very very well?
Anyway, I love Ye Thuzas sober response.
But nothing beats Yunas face in the last pannel ?
btw: I’m still alive XD’
Yeah, Yuna is almost sickeningly cute in this strip. :3
D’AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
I almost expected a double Gomen from her in that last panel… it would fit, considering her name, though not necessarily her heritage *chuckle* My first ever comment on one of your strips… LOOOOOVE the comic, absolutely awesome, and anyone who says otherwise is probably certifiably insane…
That’s soooo cute.
You shold totaly develop Yuna a lot more. I mean, as a “cute moments provider”
Okay, I take it back—THIS was the perfect end to that particular arc! VERY nice!!
Hahaha. D’awwww =]
awwwww. This is so cute som e readers will get close to a diabetic coma. I think I already mentioned one of the best things on Sandra and Woo is the ability to jump from serious strips to action-packed ones, and to comedy ones in a blink of an eye.
YAY 😀
Hey, this is the first time I’ve commented on one of these strips, and I’d just like to say that this comic is pretty awesome in general.
coyoteBR
I think you meant so sweet some readers will get diabetic.
nice comic and nice story arc. Cant wait for the next comic.
The cute, it burns! In a good way, like Tiger Balm.
Great arc! And yes, Yuna is extremely cute in her embarrassment – wouldn’t have it any other way!
I think this is the rare “aww” moment at the use of “MF”
Well considering that Ye Thuza was having Cloud watch and imitate the moves from Kick Ass, my guess would be that she heard it from the movie.
Haha, been there, done that! Once after my(then very young) brother tried out the word ‘fuck’ in a sentence, he fearfully said, ‘Is Santa not coming this year?’
awww thats so cute
From “Kick Ass”, one assumes…
oh my Yuna really got it…
First time in a while I’ve loled at a comic. 🙂 Yuna is so true-to-life.
Yuna looks to be just at that age when she wants to always do “the right thing” but isn’t sure what that is. Hope she retains that attitude into her teens. Which reminds me to ask Novil, do you intend for any of the characters in this strip to age, or will they always be the same age (as is common in cartoons)?
I agree with all the other commenters that Yuna is so cute int the last panel :D! I didn’t expect that ending, well done!!!
gotta remember shes underage X_X
gotta remember shes underage X_X

I’m not one for complaining but really…I think you may have some issues lol x
@ Draco Blair
She probably saw the movie
Hehe, she sure isn’t Hit Girl 🙂
Sorrrrrrrrrrrrry?
Does she really just roll a continuous “R”?
One would imagine she’d use an “O”…
Rolling the “o” usually deontes sarcasm. I think she really is sorry, so she rolled the “r” instead.
BTW, Took me a moment to remember what the little square target meant :-p
Dawwwwwww
what a cutie!
here Yuna, you get a gold star.
That is adorable.
Makes me wonder if she understood what she was saying when she called Cloud a pussy earlier, too.
This calls for a Precocious quote:
Yuna is “exceedingly cute”
It’s funny the way the mask makes Ye Thuza look so blasé when she’s explaining.
Oh, now she finds out. XP
I love this comic, but PLEASE let this storyarc end… It’s horrible -_-
Excellent twist there.. perhaps things like objectionable language ought to be explained beforehand next time?
*chuckle*
Heh go watch cardcaptor and Nanaho and then you will realy have a problem >.> heh so cute!
Heh. This is why my parents always told me “Don’t use a word if you don’t know what it means.”
Well, his comment is about as creepy as the one friends’ (no clue what his character’s name was) comment about Hit-Girl in the movie. Maybe he’s just channeling that. :p
Excellent writing as always, Novil!
Damn that’s adorable! Yuna’s cute today.
LoL, Yuna looks so cute in the last panel.
Everyone knows sorry can make anything better. 😀
Heh. Love the fact that there’s not so much as a “mea culpa” from Ye Thuza. Tell it like it is, rebel child.
Yuna is the only character in a comic strip so far that can make the word “mother(ahem)” sound cute. I hope she shows up more often.
I always thought using the word ‘pussy’ was worse than ‘motherfucker’. I hardly ever use the former as an insult or slang, but I’ll shout the latter if I’m playing a difficult video game. Maybe the social morays are just different down South than they are in the Northwest?
(^_^) That made my day.
I have to agree, she is in today’s strip as adorable as Precocious’s Tiffa when she was rolled up to sleep…can infuse even in the toughest bloke gentle mother instincts
I have truly never seen the words “mommy” and “motherfucker” in the same sentence… XD
Ziggy: Well, one is also an affectionate name for a domestic house cat, or in extreme cases any member of the Felis group* … the other is a fairly unequivocal accusation that the target of your slur has taken their oedipus complex a touch too far and has, hopefully, only stopped short of murdering his own father.
So, yeah. One you can say on TV during daytime hours so long as you have the correct context (similar to Dick, when it’s one of: 1/ a short, once cute form of Richard, 2/ a bread pudding full of raisins, 3/ a private investigator, 4/ german for “fat”), ref: Mrs Slocombe in “Are You Being Served” skirting the very boundaries of innuendo, the other is very definitely reserved for late night, generally adult-oriented programming. Heck, even risque comedy shows here in the UK drop the f-bomb by an increasing amount, but I haven’t heard any of them conjugate it in any serious form or even really use it in it’s literal context (it’s just a severe exclamation).
Maybe you’ve had an overexposure to Samuel L Jackson (the “L” is for “Motherf*cking”) and unexposure to cult british 1970s comedy or something 😀
The comic itself … hmm … was this planned from the start as a twist denouement**, or is it a hasty backtrack to avoid fan backlash? Discuss.
Actually no, don’t. It gets tedious after a while and will lead to the comments being closed again.
* Despite my BSc Biology (class: scrapin’ it), I can never remember which is the correct term out of Family or Order (or…?!), so “group” it is.
** My favourite just-learnt word of the day – it’s the final loose-end-tying bit of a film, book, etc that comes after the climax and answers all those “so what happened to…?” and “so, whose side WAS (XYZ) really on?” questions. Well executed in films by James Cameron, Edgar Wright, etc. Sort of achieved by Lucas and Spielberg. Totally ignored by many others, including – sadly – Disney and Miyazaki***. Guess they get worn out by the time the “important bit” has been sorted and just down pencils rather than slogging another few weeks on a wind-down.
*** He used to be quite good with stuffing the afterstory into the credits as little silent vignettes instead but doesn’t seem to bother any more. The closest we ever get to a proper one is either Cagliostro, Sen or Mononoke, but they’re still pretty short****.
**** Unlike this typewritten one.
Also, Goro San:
gotta remember she’s a line drawing?
And more non-dictionary-backed-up language learning (though it shall all evaporate… hey, I wonder if the strips could be compiled into one of those bilingual learning books?)
Bedeutet – “means” (I presume)
Eigentlich – “actually” (ditto… wouldn’t bet against the two having the same root. Eigen means something fairly important that I can’t remember)
Schlimmes – offensive, naughty, bad, etc?
Schimpfwort – swearword, cussword, etc.
OK, I largely picked up on that because they sound a little “funny” to my foreign (mind’s-) ears, but still nice to know.
I knew a girl that was like that, she beat me with her cuteness. She lift me up and down and everywhere, I was like a hungry wolf without fangs.
Helpless girls are the most dangerous kind, be careful with them, they make You helpless
From badass to adorable in one strip
