The current story arc started with this strip: Bad Sign.
- Paul Rye: He took the contract home to have another look at it! ARRRBRRRGLLLL!!!
- Richard: I’m very sorry, Mr. Rye. I should have been more attentive.
- Paul Rye: If we lose this order — I don’t even want to think about it!
- Richard: When it comes to the crunch, my department could do with one man less, I suppose.
- Paul Rye: We’ll see.
- Secretary: Hey, what’s that?

Aw… not cake.
Okay, guys, let´s brainstorm: what company has a logo that looks like a piece of cake?
Woo just came to the realization that the cake is a lie.
(Sorry, but the quote was inevitable though.)
Any ideas of what Woo found?
ARRRBRRRGLLLL!!!

I think it’s the actual contract and that THE guy tool THE wrong pièce of paper with him…(sorry for caps and stuff, but my iPad thinks it’s smart…
This is a very interesting look into the life of Richard when he’s at work. Normally we only ever see parental characters when they’re at home, especially in comics with children as the main cast.
I’m liking it. It’s a step away from the usual. Even if it does leave few opportunities for me to make witty observations.
I… must… resist… argh… I… I cant, im gonna say it!
THE CAKE IS A LIE!!
@ alex Longclaw:
It’s ok, we forgive you.
Richard’s very savvy. He’s got an employee he’s suddenly not so fond of, and a need to placate his boss: certainly put himself out of the firing line!
cheese cake? =D
not cheese cake. =(
Richard should give his coworker a break. Anyone could have lost Woo, he’s a crafty little guy.
well woo found it. XD
Woo’s needing a snack. I’d provide one or the next annoying animal he sees is toast.
What, no cake!
That is a tragedy.
OK!
We all know that curiosity killed the cat. But what does it do to the raccoon???
Wow, didn´t expect Mr. Rye to be capable of fluent Nerglish (murloc-speech) 🙂
Arrrbrrrgllll meaning: I hope when he comes back, he´ll bring cake.
@ Sir Chaos:
Aperture Science? :p
hmmm someone define arrrbrrrgllll
@isaac
*I just jammed both my hands in a fiiling cabinet!
…but why is Woo there at work with him? Take your pet to work day?
How are things going for our esteemed artist right now BTW, what with the … complications over there?
@ tahrey:
Well, maybe Sandra is in a trip or something and couldn’t take Woo with her, so Richard took him so he’s not alone in their home, who knows what can he do there.
Oh, dear God…
If they lose Apeture Science Laboratories as a client…
Think of the repercussions! No more free shower curtains!!! O.O
Is that . . . Colonel Sanders?
@ Bucc-i:
it takes away his cake =(
the cake is a lie but thats ok because there is no spoon to eat it with
I wanna know what kinda powers Woo has, his stealth is amazing.
I mean, she noticed the piece of paper floating around, but not the raccoon sitting up straight.
Or the fact that the racoon was even there
Funny how this strip give the impression that a head’s going to fall of one’s shoulder. I sure hope that won’t be the case. Jus think about the absurdity: someone’s head rolling just for a wandering pet (here: a raccoon). There are more serious motives to be fired (like stealing money from the society), don’t you think?
this what will do for this time being.
@ chickenmobile:
yah that works lol
The P. Rye industries want to make cake with them.
@ Mystery Penguin:
Hahahaha……. huh?
Rye = Crop
P. Rye……. Prye……… Prey………
oh…..
teach him gamer memes! @ Bucc-i:
“Hello and Welcome to the aperture P. Ryence enrichment Center.
Certain Racoons may be vital to your success. If at first you don’t succeed, you fail.
We want to remind you that the companion-coon will never threaten to eat you. (Unless you are Tweety)”
Looks like Woo just found the
cakelie in the contract Mr.Rye is talking about. Why is Richard blaming it on his employee? He was the one who decided that it was a good idea to bring a racoon to work.

as my grandfather used to say “it’s always the person at the bottom who gets kicked the hardest” in business, the boss is never wrong or at fault…. so long as their is someone beneath them who they can offer up as a sacrificial-goat
@ Racer X: I’m not sure Richard knew he was bringing Woo to work, in the last panel of ‘A bad sign’, Woo is suddenly in the window of the car. I think he was probably snoozing in there when Richard left for work. Richard brought him inside the office then because leaving a pet locked in a car unattended is all sorts of cruel.
THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!
@ JHSpence:
yes, yes it is.
@ gamerjoel135:
Aperture?
Yes Woo it’s not a cake I bet it’s just some tasteless document about how the other guy planned to ruin Rye’s compani so just drop it. 😀
… I’m just blabbin here don’ mind me. XD
@ Sir Chaos:
Aperture Science? X3
The cake is a lie,
So let’s have pie!
But the pie is a fake,
So let’s have some cake!
Woo looks so cute in the las pannel~
now now Richard seems to be a i too harsh at time don’t ya think? people make mistakes and I’m sure he’s made more than woo could ever imagine. u~u
I’m guessing at the end it’ll all be a triumph.
I Bet Woo the Racoon gets All the Free Stuff XD
Must…. resist…. cliche…. comment……..
