Starting with this story arc, Powree will begin to draw the characters slightly more mature so that their appearance finally matches their real age.
Sandra and Woo does no longer follow the seasons. Too many strips that will be published during the next months will require spring or summer weather.
- Sandra: Tomorrow I’m going swimming with my class. Cloud’s going to look super cute in his trunks for sure!
- Woo: Go get him, tiger!
- Sandra: Haha, I’ll try. So you’re no longer jealous of him?
- Woo: No. I’m sure that Cloud is someone who’ll do anything to protect his mate and kids.
- Sandra: Aw, that’s sweet of you to say!

Interesting, a simple. newspapery style of story telling, is the next Sandra and Woo will have something surprising? A big reveal?

So a change in style? Hmmm that sounds interesting. I’m not good at understanding or seeing these things, but if this is for making the comic get mature and evolve with time… THEN I’m IN! Go on man I can’t wait to see the next page. :3

But not TOO much aging. I don’t want to see Woo 3 or 4 years from now, gray-furred and arthritic — even if he and Lily are surrounded by a couple of dozen grand-kits.
Honestly, Sandra already looks quite a bit more mature than she did back in the early days of the strip. I can see where you’d want to tweak a few things, but for the most part I think it’s about right!
Also, it’s always good when the pet gives your relationship his blessing 😀

I don’t think Woo was that old, maybe he was in his 20s, so 2 or 3 years after Lily and him will still be young. On another hand, that change of style towards maturity is already good with Sandra: she definitely look even cuter than before (and that’s a lot to say, because she was already cute in the previous comics) and so is Woo, so I’ll be looking forward to see how the change in style will affect the other characters of this comic.

I’ll miss the old Sandra, though variety is the spice of life. Besides, one can’t expect her to ALWAYS wear her hair up. Change is a good thing and I think this is a good change.

Yes, raccoons can live to 15 (or 10. or 12. The Internet offers wildly varying numbers for the average and maximum spans) and I’m sure Woo is as well-cared for as any have ever been. His greatest risk is obesity.
Sid and Shadow (and, unless she’s adopted, Lily) won’t be that lucky.
BTW, I _like_ Sandra’s knife-edged ponytail. It’s cute and it makes her stand out. I hope she retains it during the daytime.

I think its good that sandra and woo characters age a bit because you know rly famous comics/cartoons that are a bit like this, like peanuts and calvin and hobbes? it always made no sense that the characters never aged after 10 years or so and in the end it just got creepy with the same characters doing the same stuff with eternal youth.
