[0244] A New Adventure
└ posted on Thursday, 10 February 2011, by Novil
Woo! The first strip of our new looooong and very important storyline. I’ve written the first strips for it when Cloud and Larisa were just two generic schoolmates of Sandra and did not even have their names.
- Richard: What’s with this massive backpack in the corridor?
- Sandra: It’s for the camping trip, duh.
- Richard: Oh, is that today?
- Sandra: You forgot about the trip!? I’ve been talking about it for weeks!
- Richard: Sorry. All I can think about at the moment is that super important meeting in New York.
- Jelena: Here’s the list of things you aren’t allowed to do during the trip.
- Larisa: “I will never leave my group!” …… Hmm.
- Larisa: “I will not touch my chaperone inappropriately!” …… No fair! He’s sooo cute!
- Yuna: You’re in a group with Sandra and Larisa? Oooooooooh.
- Cloud: Yuna.
- Ye Thuza: Our little Cloud Tribal is quite the ladies’ man, isn’t he?
- Cloud: Mom!
- Yuna: Have you told Sandra that you’ve got a super big crush on her yet?
- Cloud: Yuna!
- Ye Thuza: And that you want to give her some super sloppy smoochies?
- Cloud: M-O-M!
Wow, CLoud’s mom enjoys acting like a 10 year old her self at times, doesn’t she?
Here we go again!
@ Nobody:
Yeah but that’s what makes her so cute!
For the love of Christ, leave the poor boy alone!
Tribal!? Ladies man!? Don’t think that reference went unnoticed! I’m so glad to see it in this comic! Thank you! Thank you so much for making note of such a great game!!!
Kinda having a hard time feeling sympathy for Cloud. He’s got two girls after him. Some verbal teasing is more than justified.
Looks like Level Two take place in a forest dungeon! Classic!
…Larisa’s, “Hmm…” worries me. She’s planning on using a technically correct definition of group that her mother should have expected her to use, isn’t she?
Agreed. You can just see her looking for loopholes
Wow… ususally Mothers have worries of there children going to camp with “less than scrupulous” counselors… it would seem Larisa’s Mom is more worried about getting a law suit instead of having to file one.
Larisa. Just Larisa! XD
@ Eka:
Yup, that was announced by Novil a while ago. I already rejoice like a fresh crumbed squirrel!
… is it just me or does that sound a lot more funny in german? o_O’ Does it even make sense in english? Well, not that it actually did in german…
He already told her, and they were there
“pizza plants”
“go, Cloud, go”
They have alzehimer
Sandra’s Dad: My daughter will go for a camping trip today, oh well…
Larissa’s Mom: Dear, I know your chaperone’s cute, but don’t you dare ruining that fine young man life will you.
Cloud’s Mom: Clandra shipping GO!
Extra note: Seeing Larissa’s mom eyes on the fourth panel it seems that she have that “I know your attitude lady” look, maybe she’s just like Larissa when she’s youg?

After living her childhood life in an oppressed country and expecting uncertain future she deserve to enjoy a little bit of childishness in her everyday life.
Larisa’s actually paying enough attention to her mom’s (2nd) rule to get upset about it??
Woo is going to get lost in the forest, I’m calling it.
Will this lead to another opportunity for Cloud and Sandra to kiss?
I must stay tuned!
Other items on Larisa’s list:
I will not burn down the forest… AGAIN.
I will not fake a Bigfoot sighting.
Seriously, I won’t burn down the forest.
I will not make my fellow campers believe we’re sleeping on an ancient indian burial ground.
I will not attempt to ride a bear.
NO BURNING DOWN THE FOREST!!!
A talking animal to help you out should be a requirement whenever one goes camping. I’m a little worried about Larisa… and poor Cloud :D! He’ll get over it, they just like to embarrass him :). I’m most intrigued that this storyline was written so long ago, I’m looking forward to it :).
Is it pronounced Luh-ree-suh or Luh-riss-ah?
“Super sloppy smoochies” is the sort of thing no one should ever hear from their mother. 😛
Also, Larisa being Larisa. Always a treat. =]
Oh, so many things that can go wrong…
Is three months even enough to cover half of it?
Wait, Larissa’s there. Is three months even enough to cover one percent of it?
@ Blitzkrieg1701:
I was beginning to wonder if anyone else noticed the lack of a ‘no setting fires’ rule for Larisa.
Reminds me of the strip where they’re getting ready to explore the old factory.
@ AtcyJAC:
Heh! I wondered if someone else would catch it too. Had to do a doubletake there “Wait, Tribal’s not his last name!”
Fits him though! Something about the facial structure, and the hair…and the sheer awesomeness and everybody liking him.
Now let’s just hope he doesn’t have any older brothers with terminal health conditions, or things could get scary, eh?
lol i feel exactly like cloud sometimes.
All I have to say is, No Larisa. Don’t get distracted by the (presumidly much older) chaperone even if he is cute or for that mater any of the other cute eyed boys you have no doubt been kissing off and on for months. Keep your eyes on the prize. Remember you are going camping all alone with cloud (as soon as you get rid of all of the others… forest fire might do the trick). Oh and when Sandra calls you on it, be sure to pull out a portable CD player in order to play Avril Lavine’s “What the Hell” song as your justifiction (er… despite the fact that the song doesn’t apply to you at all).
I like how Larisa, despite her generally chaotic nature, seems to have a weird kind of lawful relationship with her parents. They let her get away with some things but manage to draw the line at a point before the authorities get involved. Most people would no doubt think them horrible for raising such a juvenile delinquent but I suspect that they might quite possibly be the best parents to ever exist. If you want proof of this, I cite the fact that a crazed pyromaniac like Larisa has even survived long enough to get as crafty as she now is, not to mention that her mother at least is still on the ball.
And are applications for that editor position still open? Because Novil used the wrong tense in the blog. “I’ve written” should have been “I wrote.”
I love Clouds family.
And OMG Larisa is incorrigible!
@ ekimmak:
I bet she hears them so often that she doesn’t even bother responding anymore.
AtcyJAC wrote:
I wonder if that’s his middle or last name though? 😛
But yeah, that was a good referance there!
haha, that’s brilliant!
but is this a flashback? I thought cloud and Sandra had a thing going on already ;D
Is that woo in the bag? The “in the past” thing about the strip is not really adding up to me……. BTW Larisa FTW
@ Piña: I think it’s the later. She’s Russian, after all
@ tfeth282: Where does it say “in the past”?
Woo: *zzz…roasted campfire marshmellows…zzz*
OMG! Zidane references spotted!
Thanks so much for it! 🙂 He is like my favorite FF character of all time 🙂
I bet they’re going to be attacked by a ninja with a giant throwing star, seems to be what happens when you go off into the woods (kind of want to play FFVII again)
Out of interest, was this drawn back when it was written? Looks a bit like it, character design and all.
Having only just noticed that Cloud’s middle name is Tribal, it wouldn’t surprise me if Yuna’s middle name was either Yuffie or Selphie.
so, wait, if thats a list of things she’s not allowed to do, wouldn’t that mean that she could say those are double negatives? Cause she not allowed to never leave her group would mean she can totally leave her group.
So Larissa is not allowed to [..] never leave her group.
Double negative phrasing, meaning she *must* leave her group.
I can see funny things happening already !
Pour cloud…
I’ll enjoy the following comics of this arc. I can feel it, characters and story development, here we go.
@ Nobody: Almost all moms do.
Woo’s already packed for the trip! I hope they camp in the same forest that Sid and Shadow hang out in.
Teasing Cloud has to be one of the funnest things ever in that household. 🙂 I wonder if Dad comes in on Cloud’s side or Ye Thuza and Yuna’s… 😉

I had a cousin who used to do this; then he’d go hang out at the redneck bar at the end of the logging road and wait for reactions. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I love Larisa! She’s so… interesting!
😀 oh my god hoheh you’re here too!
best
family
EVER
i have feeling things will get a little hectic when larisa has her turn to start the campfire…

Yuna…. MOM!
Poor Cloud, I really feel for the guy.
