Suggestions for Sandra and Woo merchandising
I’m currently discussing various options for Sandra and Woo merchandising with a company. So I’d like to ask you if you are interested in a specific kind of product? So much that you would actually BUY it although it will certainly cost more than a similar product in a generic store, especially when considering the shipping costs? You’re not limited to printed stuff (t-shirts, mugs, etc.) with your suggestions, though. It could be anything.
Plushies and keyrings based on the characters! BIG coffee mugs (16oz or better) posters
I wouldn’t mind a Plush Woo.
My own personal Woo to cuddle just I won’t let him near my Dad’s budgie.
Agree with Faem, coffee mugs and posters. Also coasters and maybe Sandra and Woo printed Snuggies?
I second (third?) the plushies. Especially of Woo.
I know this probably not what you’re asking for but I would love to be able to buy volumes of the Sandra and Woo comics.
definitely key rings. a woo plush would be good. i’d plasce him between menchi (excel saga) and ein (cowboy bebop).
Definitely a stuffed plushy of Woo
Going with the large coffee mugs and the stuffed Woo plushy
and maybe a t-shirt
WOO, SID, AND SHADOW PLUSHIES. You have no idea how happy that would make me. ;o;
Poor as I may be, a good Woo plushie would drive me into a buying frenzy.
That, or a cosplay hat.
Woo plushie would be nice. I’d also consider buying a mousepad that something like… a picture of Sandra hugging Woo? Or Sandra/Cloud laying on a grassy hillside, with Woo between them.
(no Larisa please)
Tee shirts. To many quoteables to count for tee-shirts. I’d buy a Terror-Squirrel t-shirt any day. “Ducks are bad for you” would make a good one too.

What?!?!? A Larisa plushie that comes with a working lighter would be awsome. j/k
Seriously, I would love long sleeved T-shirts, big mugs, or perhaps a nice warm throw blanket. ie I want something that I can use in a practical manor.
A Woo plush toy would be so cool! And a hoodie with Woo or Shadow on it would be great aswell!
Hello,
The Larisa-plushy, with real lighter! Just AWESOME!
A Woo-plushy is so … expectable … plushies of the human characters would be much better!
Larisa, Sandra or Cloud as plushy.
Greetings
Juy Juka
Hahaha, a lighter with Larisa’s endorsement on it would be hilarious, though it’s not something I’d actually suggest 😉
I’d be interested in some postcards from the forest, and seasonal cards. Maybe a snowglobe of Woo, Shadow etc!? That’d be novel! And, of course, plushies are a must.
As far as apparel goes, personally I find myself so bogged down with t-shirts that I’m actually adverse to the idea.. I’d much rather see something like scoop/v-neck shirts with an image placed on the side or near the bottom edge, or zip-up hoodies. The characters are all so cute and the forest setting is so nice, it’d be a shame to see something plastered on the front of a t-shirt when it could be made into something a little more stylish.
Okay, here is my suggestions:
1) Book version, with some extra bonus arts that only appear in the book, complete with bonuses like stickers, book plate, and limited special edition with randomly drawn graphic in extra page from powree!
2) Some already say about plushies, how about Squishable? they have Raccoon version too! : http://www.squishable.com/pc/squish_raccoon_15/Big_Animals/Squishable+Raccoon maybe you could order them in bulk for cheap or you can go to them and order your own custom Woo version, they already do it with other webcomics, Questionable Content and Dinosaur Comic, and the result is a squishable Sparrow and a squishable T-Rex.
3) Pins, key chains and mobile phone straps are for them who prefer smaller items to be carried around or the one living in small housing/apartment, and they’re cheap too!
4) Original Powree sketches, nicely framed with wooden frame.
5) Create figures based on S&W characters, you can go to http://www.patchtogether.com/ and request figurines, example is Shortpacked webcomic figures: http://www.patchtogether.com/store/robin-desanto-204.html
If I find another ideas I’ll post more.
Thumb drives. But of a reasonable size. Lots of sites have thum drives that hold 2 g, but I stopped using 2g thumb drives 2 years ago. Get one on your site that is 8 or higher and I will buy at least.
Lighters were already mentioned … how about matches in a Larisa-branded matchbox?
I’d say T-shirts with each of the main charictors indepentantly. Just dont stray to far from what made the comic likable. Woo chasing some bugs, Larisa laughing with the background on fire. Cloud dressed as FF7 Cloud with a “i can’t believe I’m wearing this” look on his face, and Ye Thuza in some RPG rouge outfit.
This probably sounds a bit unusual, but I’d actually buy some tech stuff if it was made, like a laptop case, or something else similar.
Also, I again agree with plushies of the characters. I certainly would like a trio of Sis, Shadow, and Woo.
I would love a T-shirt with Woo on it doing something funny 🙂
i second the woo tee idea!
waht about cards… u know, like for bdays and get well and all that??
i would LOOOOOVE to send a sandra & woo birthday card!!
I like the idea of plushes and tees, but could you also do posters? There are some moments that I’d love to have some moments on my wall such as the “Love, Peace, Cookies” splash page, or some of that artwork you have up on display.
A T-shirt with a picture of Larisa with a zippo style lighter and a caption reading “FIRESTARTER” below it.
A Woo plushie and a poster of the background piece where they’re in the rock band called “The Woo”. that was awesome! Also I agree with keyrings and coffee mugs. Woo and Larissa are my faves. 🙂
Going with the idea of the Woo plushie and poster.
Ummmm, perhaps a beanie of Woo’s face with his tounge sticking out? Hoodie’s are quite popular so perhaps one of Shadow so it look sorta like he’s nomming your head like this: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/1880/homesharkft0.jpg I’m thinking maybe I could draw you a sketch up of what I mean and send a link cause that’s not the best example. What about A belt with Woo, Shadow and Sid all running around it, like a parade 8D A range of mugs perhaps? Like Sandra & Cloud sharing a hot Cocoa on one and Woo, Shadow and Sid on another, y’know what I mean? Definately posters, perhaps shirts with the character on them quoting from the comic (I can’t think of any good examples right now). Plushies are a good idea but make sure there’s one of all the main characters 😛 Bobble-heads might be an idea, not sure how they would sell though. Keychains and mobile phone straps would be nice little items for people who are mild fans, or want something small or cheap to have. I could come up with more stuff probably, just need sleep…and food.
I think a locket would be cool. That way you could keep your favorite characters with you =]
The plushies would certainly be a good start. Given our current story arc, a Sandra and Woo themed water bottle would be great. I need a new one for the office anyway. 🙂 I’m also in the coffee mug camp.
How about mouse pads? Maybe one with Woo, one with Sandra and Woo, one with Sandra, Woo and Cloud, maybe one with Sandra her Dad and Woo. It would be a good thing for any requested existing art cell, although it’d likely need to be colored.
And while we’re on the Larisa subject, why not a pill box? Sell them, donate part of the proceeds to a good cause (asthma or diabetes research, perhaps?) and see how many you can sell. Get the 7 compartment box with the letter for the day and a head shot of a different character on each. 🙂
Another good and likely inexpensive to produce idea…coasters! Or drink glasses, like the old Welch’s brand Jelly Jars that had Saturday Morning Cartoon Characters on the sides of them and, when empty, could be cleaned and become a juice glass? Those were quite collectible and some of them are worth quite a bit of cash these days.
Poster size framing of certain story arcs would be good. Such as the ‘Kick-Ass’ parody from Cloud and family.
I would fire off a variety of small knick-knack sort of ideas, but I think those are already well covered.
Although a click ball point pen with one or more of the crew on them would be great. I saw one yesterday where you can print the name of your organization on the side and on the front of the clip is a round spot for a picture or logo. Not very big, but a smiling Woo face would fit there, possibly. 🙂
What about hoodies for Woo, Shadow, and Sid with ears on the hood and the rest of it the color of their fur? Like this panda one, for example: http://www.hoodiepeople.com/product_images/r/889/White-Panda-Hoodie-01__50186_thumb.jpg
BACKPACKS! Bags! Key charms! I would by a coffee mug in a minute! Cosplay stuff! Buttons! Postcards! Wallpaper! Stickers! Post it packs! Pens/pencils! Badges! Pins! Hats/scarves! TankTops! Other clothing!
I know it’s been said a few times but a Larisa zippo lighter would be awesome (I collect zippos) honestly I’d have to buy two one for the collection and one to carry
a poster of that one comic where Sid is dropping an acorn on a wolf would be cool, also pins, pendants, rings and earrings (jewelry) based on the characters would be neat. maybe some buttons with the “Freedom! Justice! Cookies!” slogan on them.
HAW HAW! My suggestion was taken seriously! -fistpumps-
Yush but I would LOVE to have plushies, cell charms, and posters >w<
Oh and clothes! CLOTHES! Especially hoodies. -drools- Hoodies..
After going and reading the comments, I ADORE the idea of a hoodie with Woo nomming on your head, and I love the idea of a belt with all the characters parading on it! You should also get cute little pendants made like in the shape of Woo or Cloud.
a Larisa pocket knife. like a swiss army knife but maybe has a lock pick attachment
Maybe a shirt that reads, “Caught in an RPG’s Crossfire” with the image of that impaled Tonberry from comic #0134. It would look like the Tonberry got stuck onto you because you were walking too close to the fight.
@ Jeremy:
or maybe one with Sid climbing up it, looking like he’s scared of something on the ground
Hmm so far the list covers a good range, I ‘ll summarize. We have, of various characters: plushies, hoodies, cups, one manical pyro lighter, posters, backpacks, key rings, necklace/lockets, pens, T-shirts, holiday/greeting cards, snuggies, hats, mouse pads, pill box, blankets, books/volumes. Other ideas: Cloud’s training sword, the various disguises/costumes used thus far, stickers/patches, lanyards.
could we have hoodies with art on them?
I really would like a Woo plushie and also a couple of shirt designs:
-Silhouette of woo jumping (including his eyes)
-A series of picture from woo and his forest friends that says food chain and it all points down to the squirrel (sorry forgot his name at the moment)
-Queen Sandra
-Cloud and his mom in their kick-ass-esque costumes
Just some ideas.
I’d definitely buy a T-shirt, but even if they went up immediately, I probably wouldn’t be able to actually buy it until October
A Woo plushie and maybe T-shirts or mousepads.
@ Cloud+Larisa_Shipper:
How about a Larisa Zippo lighter? Or refillable butane lighter.
The only thing I’d probably buy is a lighter with Larisa on it.
Definitely a line of cards like for birthdays and anniversaries and get well. I’d buy them
Sorry to post again so long after the convo has died down, but I was reminded that I know people who were fans of the anime Sailor Moon who purchased check book covers with their favorite characters on them. (Yes, I was gifted one, too. :p)
So something along the line of a wallet/change purse/checkbook cover might be good. Or a ‘CCG’ sort of thing, a release of, say, a card for each character with their basic backgrounds on them or something. Magnetic perhaps?
