The current story arc started with this strip: A New Adventure.
- Ranger: All on board?
- Hunter: The talking raccoon!
- Ranger: Excuse me?
- Hunter: That raccoon! He can talk! “LOOK!!! A talking raccoon!!!” That’s what he said!
- Hunter: No, don’t let him get away!

Well, that was a sudden shift. A ranger appears out of thin air? It feels like I missed a strip o_O
ROTFLMAO loved Woo’s parting shot at the hunter
From that day on, he vowed that he would catch that raccoon, even if he went through hell and back, he would not rest until he could prove that what he heard was the truth.
He will hold on to this notion, even to his grave, that he saw a talking animal. Even with his final words and under his last breath, he tried in vain to not be seen as a crazy old fool.
I. FREAKING. CALLED. IT.
~Leptictidium, the coolest “graceful weasel” around. B)
Maybe, if he was Drunk…no one would care about his mental fitness…just maybe
Why I believe we have the last laugh…all of us S&W fans, and woo.
ACK! The darned thing can do a raspberry, too! Believe me!
His hat makes him look like a talking raccoon 🙂
I think that hunter breathed too much of that mountain air.
Talking raccoons, pffft…
Anyone here who thinks the racoon can talk must ne imagining things. It’s some kind of collective illusion. I will revoke your gun-licenses as well.
Careful man you’re going to rip that hat in two… and some other animal might have to loose it’s life to satisfy your vanity.
Meh heh heh…
@ WolfieMario:
Well… I know what you mean. But it’s like that in most movies: Cut, next scene.
We just skipped the “15 minutes off walking back to wherever“-scene.
Reminds me… they did untie Larisa… right?!
A villian appears… to be continued…
The fact that he’s wearing a coon-hat sure helped his pattern of reasoning…
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it appears that this is the very first Sandra and Woo strip with only Sandra and Woo as tags XD’
Poor Harvey is still combing the forest looking for them.
*10 Years later*
A man come out from the forest, rough and grizzled, his blue eyes are still clear after all these years. His search is not done, but he heard from a lumberjack about a supervillain, called herself Torch Girl, he know who she is, he know it is his fate to stop her.
And he also knows that she’s finally legal :p
@ WolfieMario:
actually, you did. See comics 265, 273, 274, 275, 277 and 278.
@ Drone:
Ok, I won’t lie…. I lol’d.
~Leptictidium, who has a nose for humor. Seriously, that is one big nose.
@ lemonlime: First, I’ve read all the strips already :p
I was talking about the Ranger (which is what it says in the dialogue below the comic). I was actually expecting to see the hunter by now. But this is the first strip with this ranger, and we never saw how he found the kids.
Though to be fair, skipping the kids meeting the ranger saves time, since I’m sure most of us want to see what interesting things happen next. This strip trumps most ways the kids could have met the ranger. Though still, him walking in on Sandra and Cloud kissing and wondering why Larissa is hanging from a tree would have been amusing :p
Sure buddy. Why don’t you and Tanya Dean go swap stories?
…And how did he know that was the same raccoon he encountered before? It’s kinda hard to tell one raccoon from another, isn’t it? Or does this mean that he’s been following Sandra all this time..? O_o
LOOK!!! A talking raccoon!!!
@ Wolfen:
STALKER HUNTER. O_O
~Leptictidium, who really hopes there aren’t any stalker hunters behind him right now…
…And suddently, the help have come.
Oh, wait… the Ranger haven’t EVER asked WTF Larisa was tied in the tree!?!?
How many TIME SHIFTING we have between cap. 292 and 291? The 10.000 hours of “kiss training” of Sandra & Cloud? O_O
I know I’m just nitpicking here, but someone in law enforcement would be more likely to say investigation. I love Woo’s reaction, though.
That was mean, Woo! I really wish I didn’t think he deserved it.
Wait… Where does this comic take place?
This story arc was lame. The only one who wants to laugh is the looser that thinks others are snearing at them. There’s a reason they tell you have three fingers pointing back at you when you make any statement. Because, what you think of others is what you think yourself. a good critic knows this and can make pun of if they lay their cards right. The goal of a good critic is to improve the experience of the viewer. And, a good critic also knows their weaknesses better than anyone else. For instance, I for one cannot stand ‘hate’ and ‘worthy’ speech and I think the worst thing you could do to a person is take away their right of discovery. Practice, like he who laughs last laughs best, does nothing to make people take action or spark the imagination. It’s repetitive Status Quo B.S. that was designed to separate and limit people while making them slaves to authority. Not to mention it’s kind of obvious and completely unimaginative.
Plus, what happens when there isn’t anyone around to be a salve for your wounds? What’s the moral of the story? Tell me honestly, is it: When in doubt use excessive force? Get angry when things don’t go your way?, When you’re afraid attack people? When you see something you want grab it? When you bite off more than you chew, you should let it get the better of you or run away? Clearly, these are questions that won’t be answered in this tale of vanity. Then again this story was either rushed or entirely based on the fears of the creators about the world outside their safe little lives. The only solid morals of this story are “don’t get caught” “watch what you say in the presence of others,” and “the unknown is bad. However, that’s okay if you’re a main character, because then you have plot armor. ”
Thankfully, this isn’t my creation and Sandra and woo will return to it safe formulaic storytelling very soon. If not, then it’s the arch at least managed to be good practice for the __REAL__ story and we can look forward to better writing, plotting, pacing, and artwork in the future.
I post just to mention that the ranger’s last speech bubble is missing in the text box under the comic!
I like this comic. 🙂
To Slimecat (nice name btw)
What that wall of text tells us can be summed up in a few words, you are not a fan, your a hater!
You tried hiding this behind a long commentary from those who don’t bother to read, but obviously your just a very bad critic.
Sandra and Woo is a very nice comic, and if you cant appreciate someones work for what it is and say something nice, then say nothing!
I think this is a good panel, good work once again Powree and Oliver :), keep it up.
About that which Slimecat wrote:
This storyarc portrays some feats of the characters long expected. Cloud plays out the character feats long expected from him, he and Sandra get closer (in a really comic scene), Woo creates his first really bad antagonists (talking to hunters and eating eggs) and makes new friends, and all of it is done like a Hollywood action scene- in most of which I doubt anyone sees a lot of ‘moral of the story’. It’s part of a larger work, and seen in context of what came before and what will follow, I think it will fit. Plus, I really don’t know what you think was so bad about the art, I think I even complimented on three of the scenes in this arc.
So, opinions may differ, and, your critique will be used- as far as I know, writers and artists are dependent on the good as well as the bad.
But please, don’t criticize the commentary and commentators (even ahead of being accused of being a hater- which is quite funny as it happened right after, wonder If Voinescu did that on purpose), or ‘defend’ your critique in advance. It’s pointless.

I personally do not think so, but there was alot of more interesting arcs I will give you that much. However this arc made it all for me with the kissing scenes, they are so cute a white butterfly flies out of my screen everytime I open these strips, and trust me: I have too many butterflies now!
I seriously don’t know how to say it, but I follow up few web comics (LFG, CAD, The Meek, Safe Passage so to say…), and I gotta say while the story of S&W is not the deepest but it is absolutely the cutest and most calming moment in my Mondays and Thursdays are when I read these strips. That said; I still do believe S&W offers a really great story and the character development is picking up slightly. Don’t forget that it is a relatively new comic, not even 300 strips yet and still the writers and artists managed to provide some depth in their character in a pure comical fashion. I hope you see where I am coming from.
@ Slimecat:
Given that it’s actually a raspberry, “the last lick” might have been more appropriate
@ Slimecat: While I do appreciate a well-written critique, I felt this was actually one of the more realistic arcs (of course, considering the world where this takes place). Animals will fight like their lives depend on it when they’re wounded, because it actually does! People will fight to save their friends like their lives depended on it, because it actually does!
Oh sure, Sandra and Woo may be aware of the fourth wall, but what kind of a story would it be if they just stood around saying “Don’t worry, Woo will be fine. The plot will eventually turn in his favor”
I guess Woo now has an Arch-Enemy the hunter.
That’s right, Woo, give him the raspberries! THAT will prevent him from hunting you down in the future! So, who else wants to say hello to our new recurring villan? I personally look forward to seeing his intricate traps fail hilariously to small coincidences or him own incompotence.
I think about this stuff way too much.
Wait, where the hell did he come from?
Oh well, at least everyone’s sa-WAIT A MINUTE WHERE’S HARVEY!?
hmm. in the last panel you seewoo but not cloud or sandra (or Larisa) i wonder what there doing?
Wascawy talking waccoon!
——————————————————-Line of seriousness————————————————-
@Slimecat:
… That was the longest string of nonsense I have ever read, and I’ve the feeling you never bothered to proofread it. You not only manage to contradict yourself in several places, but you even manage to take entirely the wrong message from what you were commenting on, and demonstrate your lack of knowledge in the process. If you’re going to criticise someone, at least know what you’re talking about.
Lol.
@Slimecat:
look a cliff. go jump off it.
Lol.
@Slimecat:
look a cliff. go jump off it.
@ Slimecat:
Don’t flame it now, its not over yet.
No if you want tothe raccon to talk you have to have the right music. *Plays frog theme from loony tunes
Meh xD i wonder when sandras friend will find out woo can talk .. =3
@ JA_of_MN:
lol star man

Now…..seriously…Cloud must at least be sure that woo can talk…..of course..IFhe has a good memory…
Is it just me, or does the ranger look like the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George? O_o
Haha. Anyways, love the comic!
I wonder if they untied Larisa or left her tied up dangling from the tree? That would be interesting, wouldn’t it? Haha.
Can’t wait for the next strip. 😀

BINGO!!!! that music is perfect…..and I watched Son of the Mask yesterday..thanks to you..I can see Woo Dancing and a Hunter going Crazy (wasn’t a bad movie….but it’s not a greeaaat one….).
hmmm i fear that this wont be the last we see of him
Yesterday I decided to read through the first half of the series for the second time before heading out to a short film shoot.
While we were filming an adorable raccoon snuck up a corridor behind us to see what we were doing. As he realized there were so many of us he turned around and ran away.
A little while later while in the middle of a shot, my sister(Holding the boom mic) gestures to me(Recording sound) I look back and see the raccoon with his arm in our bag of corn chips. As I stood and waved my arms, he shrunk back a bit and looked really frightened, but never once took his paw out of the bag until we called cut and ran over to chase him off.
He was so cute. We all wished we could have pet and cuddled him. But of course knew better.
All I could see was Woo.
Wow, I just read this entire comic and it’s even better than the one on this link. http://wildcritters.ws/pool/show/371
