[0328] Values That Count

I wrote the basic concept for this strip in 2008 already, but I was not able to come up with a good idea for Sandra’s line in the final panel until recently.
- Sandra: Look at that pretty bird over there!
- Woo: Wow.
- Woo: *sneak* *jump* *catch* *behead* *devour*
- Sandra: Great job, Woo. Yet again a little less beauty in this world.
- Woo: Don’t be so shallow, Sandra. It’s the nutritional values that count.

Ok, they are a pony’s body and mane colors. I wasn’t entirely sure for a few refreshes, but Twilight made it obvious, and Rainbow Dash even more so. I still have Pinkie on this page, so I’m glad I broke the fourth wall this time.
coul’ve been worse, sandra. woo coulve set the fresly devoured bird’s head at your feet (many of the cats i’ve had though my life have presented parts of their kills to me).

I agree. It might just be the outfit, but it seems to me that the fact that she was drawn abit less cartoony and abit more realisticly might be the main factor.
This strip highlights an oft-forgotten fact. Mother nature can be a brutal and ugly thing at times.

On a day when most of America is eating a bird (properly cooked and stuffed of course) I find this funny and appropriate. But Woo is missing the best part, stuffing and gravy.
Gotta love it when “behead” is used as a sound effect.

I don’t really understand why people voted down your comment. They must’ve seen “ponies” and were like INSTA-HATE. I’ll admit, i thought it was a stupid comment at first as well and then I checked it out. I never noticed it before. Thanks for drawing my attention to it. XD
