[0339] Little Red Riding Pony

A series of pony strips was inevitable sooner or later. I watched my first episode “Fall Weather Friends” in February last year. My favorite episode is “Sonic Rainboom” which I already endorsed in my post on 28 March 2011. Although Rainbow Dash has some of the best moments in the series, my favorite pony is Fluttershy, shortly in front of Twilight Sparkle. I really wish there were My Little Pony action figures of the same quality as my Wallace & Gromit or even my Princess Mononoke action figures. Powree is, of course, also a pony fan.
- Little Red Riding Pony: Oh, Princess Celestia, why aren’t you wearing the royal tiara?
- Little Red Riding Pony: … And oh, Princess Celestia, why is your horn so short?
- Little Red Riding Pony: … And oh, Princess Celestia, why are your fur and feathers pink??
- Princess Celestia: All this is because the pinheads at Hasbro don’t understand that all pony fans over the age of 10 want lifelike action figures of their heroes instead of cheap plastic toys.

I don’t even watch FIM that much but the first thing I saw when I saw the commercials for the new toy was “why isn’t she the correct colouring?”

Well there we go. A whole week in which I didn’t feel like I had a proper Sandra and Woo experience. -.-
Can we get back to just some strips featuring, I don’t know, Sandra and Woo perhaps? And I mean ones that I can read without hours of decryption.
This strip attracted me because of its light-hearted fun with its characters. Keep doing what you always have, this gimmick strip was unneeded.
I always figured this was a before the series figure.
I thought I heard about MLP:FIM from your site last year! I just want to say thank you a thousand times, because it is so awesome, and the fandom is wonderful. Thank you!

FLUTTERSHY! Woo! She’s my favorite too; I actually only just started watching the episodes on youtube a few weeks ago; I watch with my Netherlands friend using Livestream. Anyone else think the Parasprites were the cutest things ever?

Yeah, I remember last fall when I was (stupidly) thinking “Well, if Hasbro is making both the cartoon and the toys, at least we can count on the toys being accurate”
~yay~ In the process of re-watching the entire MLP:FiM series or at least what’s out yet. And after episode 8 I decided to take a break to read up on some of the online comics I follow.
More MLP:FiM 😀 I won’t complain. It’s the artists choice what she or he does with her or his creations. If you want to make MLP:FiM related comics then I welcome them. Don’t let the parasprites talk you away from doing as you desire.

Screw My Little Pony cheap toys and F*** the pretty expensive (At least here in Brazil) Hasbro Toys – Mainly Transformers Voyager (Medium sized) Classes! Not to mention the LACK of transformers Prime toys, despite I could EASILY find MLP:FIM stuffed dools – And none of them are avaliable to “open TV channels” in my city. F**K!
The cheapest Transformer Voyager class here was about R$ 75,00 (About US$ 42,00) and the Optimus Prime Wallmart Exclusive (Optimus + Comettor) @ R$99,00 (US$ 55,00). And any Voyager Class from Dark of the Moon series costs almost R$ 130,00 (US$ 72,00), so you can imagine how expensive are MLP (And Hasbro toys, to the matter) toys…
Well, at very least, Transformers fans won’t be TRULLY disapointed with LACK of Transformers toys with “accurance”… Just walk a little longer, find more toy stores and, in very last instance, Import them. That’s what I did for Fireburst Optimus Prime. =/
Just make a favor for yourself, Sandra. Buy all the “female” transformers avaliable before they become a “Male-only” race again… >_<

the show is made for the toys. the toys are not made for the show.
this shows how out of the loop i am as i wasn’t aware hasbro was still in business. back when i was in my early elementary school years, i had several toys made by hasbro (when they called themselves Hassenfield Brothers), mostly cap pistols patterned after ones carried by old western tv show characters like roy rogers.

Oh well. I knew I would have to pick a side eventually; it’s impossible to use the internet without joining one side or the other. But I won’t pick yet! I’m holding out as long as possible, because I don’t break my own promises that easily. Feel free to convince me one way or the other, though. Just don’t fill up the comments page.

Is it out of the realm of possibility that Celestia was made pink on purpose, so that the people wouldn’t mistake her for a genuine Unicorn or Pegasus pony? Maybe she was made pink for the same reason toy guns are made safety orange. To keep little boys from getting into big trouble. After all, someone could see little billy playing with Celestia from across the street and think he was pulling the wings off a flutter pony. Pink and lilac are a conditioned male deterrent unless you are secure with your masculinity or metaphorically playing for the other team.
I’m not a fan of the show, and while I’ve stupidly committed myself to making a parody of MLP and Hasbro in general. I can’t stand to watch more than 5 episodes of the show… If anyone can direct me to an episode that needs or deserves lampooning let me know. Otherwise I’ll probably just limit myself to making fun of the pilot episode. Making fun of corporations is a lot easier, I’ve seen enough examples of that to know how to do it properly.

A friend of mine got me the pony toys of Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinky Pie, Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight Sparkle, and upon seeing them, I had the urge to correct ALL of the inaccuracies I immediately saw, mostly with the main and tail. Pinky Pie has straight hair, while fluttershy’s is kinda curly. Twi doesn’t have any bangs. The list goes on. Now I’m worried my parents are going to catch me alone in my room playing with ponies. I just…. can’t help needing to fix them!
I think, to be fair, we all like them.

The last time a MLP referenze was in the comic, they where in the banner.

I don’t suppose I could somehow persuade Novil to make a strip with Sly Raccoon references in the next strip or series? It was that reference in the first comic that got me onto this webcomic in the first place, and yet it seems completely forgotten.
Yeah, this probably isn’t the place for something like this.
