How many other countries have you visited (at least two full days) so far?
Looks like Sid has brol’ed a critical failure against his brachiation skill. Take 1D4 /2 damage for the fall, save against stunning to avoid concussion, and oops – looks like he’s also got a random encounter: 1 hungry wolf. Now, what would be a reasonable penalty when we determine initiative…
Poor Sid. >:=(>
This might turn out ugly.
@ Greenwood Goat:
It doesn’t matter – I would say the Chuck Jones Law of Cartoon Predators automatically gives initiative to the wolf.
Just watch. Sid is going to befriend the wolf.
Maybe the wolf will be friendly. He doesn’t look mean and aggressive like the other wolves we’ve seen. His expression is too…human.
Sid, Sid, Sid…ALWAYS use all FOUR paws AND YOUR CLAWS when leaping from branch to branch. ALWAYS.
sums it up
where’s shadow when you need him? -_-
It will be hilarious if the next comic start with another story line and making us anxious about Sid’s fate….
i think in his next life sid should come back as a creature with a bit more agility…
@ Sand Fox:
He’s a wolf, he’s hungry, and he doesn’t have to be “mean” to want to eat.
I’m unsure what “brol” is supposed to mean, I’ve never heard it before.
“thunk”, “whoop”, and “fwip” are all ones I’ve seen in comics before, but never “brol”
Well, if that is going to be the case I will hope that Sid has a high diplomacy stat.
That wolf’s looking kinda… I dunno. Worn out, maybe? Sid’s chances might not be that bad.
If the wolf yawns it’s getting dinner. Good deal for the wolf, bad deal for Sid.
I’m pretty sure that’s supposed to be the sound of stepping in/through snow.@ Neospector:
What do you think the chances are that Sid lands on wolf’s noggin? Stunned wolf, Sid up tree in a flash, back to tree hole. Sid decides he can go hungry awhile longer.
what!? no nutcracker? I feel cheated somehow.
Sid is perfoming leap of faith like a professional assassin. He’ll lie in a pile of snow for 5 seconds, and wolf will forget about him.
this really looks tight for the poos squirrel. but it was also kind of stuipid, you would theingk he might be a little more carefull after seeing the poos bunny beeing eaten and jump rather langer and not underestimating the snow.
I do agree the wolf somehow looks more human than the others but also like he is starving. Maybe he is a vegetarian wolf and doesn’t find food so sid is in fact safe an has a new friend.
Or he is just hungry and it will enbd in a wild chase3.
What we can be sure of is that The wolf doesn’t know yet meal falls from heaven, so he will be surprised.
Also Sid won’
t die. Really, it wouldn’t fit the comic to just randomly kill characters (especially such that areas cute, as Sid 😉
Sid looks different in this new arc, I kind of preferred the old style but I guess that’s just Powree’s linework evolving over the years.
Hey, isn’t this how his mother wound up getting stuck in America?
What would the odds be that we already know this wolf from an earlier summer episode in the woods? Yeah, yeah, this area of woods is supposed to be very far away from the summer adventure but wolves do travel quite long distances if forced to due to food issues or being kicked out of the pack.
“Brol”? What exactly was that, the sound of the snow being pushed through?
Erm…. Did you know it’s bad luck to eat falling squirrels?
Fellow wolf! May you have a prosperous winter.
It’s a good thing this is a comic, Sid, or she’d make mincemeat out of you. But then you probably would be hibernating. That’s why we have to suspend our disbelief.
Looking at the final panel… I’m having a flashback to “The Sword in the Stone”
Exactly. Let’s hope a chittery girl squirrel comes to his rescue.
Just caught up on comic, and I really like it.
Man, that’s disappointing. I was really enjoying this comic strip until the big, fat F-bomb in #183 (where comments are closed). Things like that are pretty much a “Go Directly to Jail” card in my book. Unfortunately, Jail is already pretty full, and I really hoped this one wouldn’t have to go, too.
@ Moxie Man:
Sid was probably dropped on his head as a child… or infused with human genes in the lesser-known side of the Human Genome Project. HEHEHE CONSPIRACY.
Would be a rather awkward moment if that’s the same wolf from 193 :p
This is a gif of a raccoon playing with a sprinkler. Has anyone here with a raccoon offered this to their furry friend? Looks like they might have fun.
For what its worth, here comes the Earth!
~And I’m, hungry like the wolf!”~
I just finished this entire series in 4 nights of constant reading. I love it! I’m inspired to draw again! Aaaand…. I dunno, does anyone else feel as though the Woo-centric arcs are a bit…fillerish? The other ones are rather interesting, in my opinion.
sigh… now i have to wait for new ones. I miss being able to read 70 strips a day. :p
Jump, the best onomatopeia ever!
@ Neospector: Comics don’t usually need a sound for “the snow has given way but hasn’t reached the ground yet”
@ Xane: I’m going to say it’s the fact that he wasn’t in color before
looks like someone’s found their meal.
Sid is so hardcore he eats wolves.
oh noooo.not again. again a poor wolf will suffer in this comic -.- .Just because he is a wolf and would want to eat the squirrel.
Dammit leave the poor wolves alone.
Ahh the pains of hunger….its hard being a Wolf sometimes……
Wolf in Bears Clothing (its the last thing they’d suspect)
Like mother like son.
(( I warned you about branches, bro. I told you dawg. ))
