[0363] Strain On The Relationship
└ posted on Thursday, 29 March 2012, by Novil
- Sid: Shadow would certainly be very upset if he came back from the hunt with two fat rabbits and found out that you ate me in the meantime.
- Echo: Hmm…
- Echo: … You’re right. It could strain our relationship for a while if I prematurely ate my mate’s best friend.
- Caption: Meanwhile
- Shadow: Four hours in the cold and I didn’t find even the tiniest mouse. Looks like I’ve got no choice but to go…
- Shadow: … searching for food in the city.
If she saved him some, I don’t think he would mind.
You could have pointed that out in the first place.
Seasoning him while he’s still alive, kinky…
Yeah, I could see how that MIGHT strain your relationship. *pokes Echo*
Little did the vulpine know that he would have competition from RJ and his annoying (yet trusty) sidekick Hammy.
I like that Echo’s still not letting go of Sid’s tail. 🙂
Echo: But in the mean time, as a show of good faith, I think you should sit in this bath of marinade.
Sid: What!? I (splosh!) …ho hum.
Echo: (wags finger) Now, no getting out and sneaking off.
Sid: Yeah, sure…
Echo: And no peeing in the marinade!
Sid: Bah!
am i the only one who suddenly heard Proud Mary start to play in response to that last line?
Sid, if you’re willing to sacrifice a paws-length of tail, you could make your escape now.
No, really, I’ve seen many a squirrel lose the tip of their tail in escaping predators.
Fox and the City.
Becareful Shadow, they have Cougars there 😉
C’mon, Sid don’t wait for Shadow to get back, then you’ll be even more outmatched, put up a fight while you still can.
“Prematurely” being the key word.
well sid, I hope someone throws out the lamb roast they accidentally dropped on the floor.
@ SlimeCat The awesome one:
hammy’s not annoying, he just sees the world through more, um, innocent eyes.
Woo will have some part in this in the near future. He’ll probably help sneak food to Shadow. Just watch. I’ll get at least part of it right! 😉
It could but who knows, maybe it won’t.
@ AckAckAck:
lawl
Find Woo and get a fridge worth of food.
@ illeatyourself:
Do you mean Sid…?
@ m:
The unlucky animal searching for food is Shadow. It took me a while to figure out as well. The colour is distracting.
Just avoid the Asian restaurants! thire are some things not meant for mortal eyes!….on the other hand though it IS Delicious!
Wolf in Bears Clothing (its the last thing they’d suspect)
I smell trouble. Mmm, and potatoes.
@ Marmota:
Oh… XP I didn’t even see the “MEANWHILE” or the fox-tail. Anyway, I guess there really wasn’t any reason for Echo to refrain from eating Sid, then…
…WHY DOES NOBODY GET TO EAT SID??!! D: He looks so tasty.

I found a 3-inch piece of squirrel tail in my friend’s back yard. Brought it home as a toy for my cats… 😉 🙂 🙂
And now to double my post…
Just thought I’d mention that Lisa Moore seems to be doing very nicely as your colorist!
Also: Love the skull and bone on the floor behind Echo in the first panel. 🙂
Called it … just like Maurice the cat, there’s none so conflicted as an apex predator which gains quasi-human consciousness…

Never even heard of it. I’ve just googled, playing on youtube in the background. I recognise the chorus but certainly didn’t know the words or even the title…

With walnut stuffing … Then Sid gets some food as well. Everybody’s happy.

Foxes live longer than squirrels, don’t they? Once his spirit passes on, his carcass is fair game in the forest…
Ive thought this many times. ASK WOO. he has access to a refrigerator (yay spell check!).
Yay, fauxzez in teh city! 1337 aside I can scarcely wait for more comics keep it up.
@ Ellert0:
Echo eats him while he is alive, so not really
Lord Detrius wrote:
Yeah, but then I would have no story to tell.
Novil wrote:
Why? You’d have a story on Woo/Sandra getting in trouble for cleaning out the fridge a lot sooner then it should be.

And imagine the quarrel between Echo and Shadow when he returns, finding only the tip of his friend in the den: “You ate him! And you saved me next to nothing!”
@ tahrey:
I don’t think cats or foxes are apex predators.
