I’m pretty sure the point of this comic is to bring awareness to ice cream abuse. And some commentary on the popularity of basketball in the third panel.

Makes sense. Larisa got to keep her diabetes under control, so ice cream is a no-no. Probably that was the best option. And as a bonus, she may have fun with his funny face
