- Woo: Even though it might not look like it, Lily is happy to see where I live and she’d like to get to know you better…
- Woo: … But she believes that you’re crowding her. For a start, she needs more free space so she can sniff at you from a safe distance.
- Sandra: I don’t think that’s physically possible.

Given that Lily has just come from the forest, I believe Sandra can smell Lily just fine…
Hardly a Kobayashi-maru… Sandra ask Cloud to do it he will make it…
QUESTION! I know Sandra can understand Woo, but can she understand Lily or does Woo need to translate between them?
@ Strife:
I don’t think Lily plans to say anything in the presence of a human even if Sandra knows that raccoons can talk. However, I’m sure Lily is going to have words later with Woo for revealing to a human that they can talk.
Lily will already have Sandra’s scent, as the room will be full of it. What she could do with is for Woo to demonstrate the benefits of proximity to humans in a way that Lily can empathise with. So let the raccoon-petting marathon commence!
Nonsense, you just need to expand your living room.
You can spare some hundreds or thousands of dollars for rebuilding, right?
I wonder if Lily has ever heard of Schrödinger’s cat, if so she might try to replicate the situation and thus provide the safety of improbable distance, or maybe just open a window?
And then we find out that Lily was told terrible things about human beings and she refuses to think they are untrue because of an experience her father had once. XD
So, Lily’s a little tense in new social situations. As comic geeks, I think we can all agree that we’ve seen worse.
Lily actually looks kinda adorable there, now that I think about it. XD
Here’s a tip from a cat owner (in this case, me):
Raccoons, like cats and many mammals will always rely on smell to recognize and familiarize with both enemies and friendlies. The best way to keep my cat calm is to give her my used shirt. Take note: Don’t use clean and fresh shirt. Use our recently worn shirt. I suggest wearing it all night for a week to leave quite a smell.
Give the shirt to your pet as her blanket/bed. She will get used to the smell thus considering you as a friendly.
I figured these two would have to meet eventually…
I think an offer of food might help smooth things over.
You know what they say. The way to a raccoon’s heart is through her stomach. Just offer her unlimited free food and she’ll be as spoiled– I mean acclimated as Woo in no time. (Same goes for any pet, actually.)
Found this web comic, maybe…5 days ago? I can’t believe I read all 430 already! I’m glad I found it too, it was all an awesome read! Every strip made me laugh, think or smile. I’ll definitely keep checking back.
Ninja Raccoon!
*puts on pirate hat, eye patch, and parrot*
Arr, me arch-foe!
this kind of reminds me of the film The Fox and The Child when the little girl brought the fox into her bedroom and she jumped out the window.
I hope there’s more to this story
First time meeting new someone is always the hardest thing to do.
C’mon, you are smarter then that, Sandra! Need more room? Then go outside where there is plenty of space!
Also kudos to Lily for being bold enough to even come inside a human house, let alone get that close to a stranger human.
where i live raccoons seem to come and go inside houses (many times with the occupants still inside) quite often. folks spend bunches of money around here to keep them out.
@ Moxie Man:
Wait, did I miss something? I thought Woo was the only racoon with speech abilities?
I hope you’re starting an arc with this

I believe he is. So Woo would have to translate Lily’s stuff, but I think for simplicity’s sake, all the animals can understand what the humans are saying.
She must be a great climber/jumper lol.
Is Lily… the Dragon Warrior? She’s in the same pose as Po used in “Kung Fu Panda” when he was stealing cookies.
… and now I want cookies.
I had a dream about doing that once so I think it’s physically possible!
Meeting the family is always an awkward step in any relationship
Oh goodness. This makes me so excited. I really, really hope this is an arc and that it will continue for a while. I’ve always wanted to see more of Sandra meeting Woo’s friends.
@ Strife:
I guess we’ll find out. 😀
I just love Lily! 😀
nothing is impossible for SCIENCE
Sapienphobic Lily planted herself on the celing and is now taking root.
Just go into the other room and leave the door open. Better yet, go outside and leave the window open!
Noooo! it only took me a couple of hours to read the whole comic front to back, I NEED MORE!!
Ninja racoon!
With the proper application of pressure to the proper points on the wall assuming Lily has enough strength and length to reach such places this would certainly be physically possible.
In other words, SCIENCE!
@ Civ:
… Basically she could move further back.
Never mind all that – don’t Raccoons have claws? Or at least nails?
lol, give her food.
Aw…I ran out of back comics to read! I guess I’ll have to start waiting…
this reminds of a scene from “hunter x hunter” where Killua gets afraid of Wing’s Nen-abilities. lmfao
Spider coon, spider coon…
To everyone saying that this pose is physically possible, that’s not the point. The point is that it’s not physically possible for her to give Lily more space since they’re already at opposite corners of the room.
