- Sandy South: Sandy South, private eye. My specialty? Exposing international conspiracies. My weakness? Never being allowed to stay up past 9:30 to expose international conspiracies.
- Sandy South: I was just amusing myself with two of my favorite toys, when someone knocked on my door.
- Sandy South: It was Cloud! He asked for my help in recovering something that was very dear to him. Not that I was hell-bent on a new case, but…
- Sandy South: … he radiated that raw male sexuality no dame could possibly resist!
- Cloud: Thanks for helping me find my Tifa action figure!
Oddly enough, this actually reminds me of many novels I have read.
Cloud’s just toying around with her on this case :p
Looks like Fluttershy is fighting with King from Summer Wars.
[I don’t know about USA, but in Brazil a Summer Wars/Final Fantasy action figure is pretty expensive]
I hope for Cloud Tifa isn’t taking the heated challenge of the Oven Temple.

Why do I get this mental image of Philip Marlowe secretly amusing himself with his Fluttershy and King Kazma figures when nobody is looking?
@ Frozenwolf150:
Thanks for reminding me of King Kazma’s name. On a side note, when webcomics make MLP:FiM references it’s usually Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie, or so it seems.
“Raw male sexuality”, huh? Larisa is proud of your apparent fantasies about your boyfriend, Sandra.
Seriously though, I lolled at how much of a gender-flip of that old and much-referenced “hardboiled detective meets dame” dynamic.
And now, the perfect song for Cloud entrance to the scene:

Yes Cloud, use your swag no dame could possibly resist.
Extra Note: I was expecting Cloud to appear in a buttoned up shirt with suspender and bow tie along with his boyish charm. Seeing him in a T-shirt kinda ruin the Noir film charm a little bit.
Cloud sure is a dame. A good one, in fact. Dare I say, a “great dame?”
Also, I’m assuming some people has some problems with my S&W dream cast list?
@ Strife:
Cloud’s not a dame! Though, I must admit, SANDRA is a pretty great dame– though aren’t all the dames in this comic?
International conspiracies always go down after 9:30 at night… which means she has plenty of time to help Cloud find Tifa.
Now let’s watch as Larisa becomes involved in a case: the case of the burning bush. 😛 I can already see Sandra’s conclusion…
“Of course it has to be Larisa. Who else would try to recreate a famous part of christian history by literally burning a bush, taking a photo, and then enlarging the photo and donating it to a church to put on their wall?”
@ illeatyourself:
Nah… If it is Larisa much more interesting would be if she will ask Sandy to investigate Landon… like suspecting infidelity (of course false accusations, but well it is Larisa we are talking about, she can make a case just for the fun of it…)
Called it.
Caaaaaalled it.
Jeez…I’m freaking tearing up from laughing so hard XD the last panel…i just can’t help but laugh, I love how it’s one of those where even if you didn’t understand what was going on or what the references were, that it would still be funny :]
Yay! Fluttershy is best pony!
Well, I never knew that Sandra liked Fluttershy
Sandra’s expression in the last panel is hysterical! 😀
Is the title a reference to the classic Tex Murphy game Under a Killing Moon?
*snicker* 😀
Reading Sandra’s subtitles with Patrick Stewart’s voice is awesome.
ack! i meant to say monologue! >.<
Here’s hoping Sandra isn’t jealous of Tifa. XP
I was gonna say, is that King Kazuma, but it looks like several other people beat me to it. I wasn’t expecting that one!
Question for the author – is this story inspired by the Tracer Bullett stories from Calvin & Hobbs?
What does she smoke: Chocolate or Bubblegum?
Looks like decent start of Noir-style stories parody.
I say the sister did it!
I love how the cigarrette isn’t even lit. It helps show how much she’s trying to look like a detective despite falling a bit flat.
All I can say is, where can I get a Tifa action figure? I want one!
@ C. W. Roden:
The sister, or the mother who acts like a sister?
I’m betting it was Woo.
Love your comics! Just finished reading all of them up to the latest, I wish love were that easy fro me, but I am way to intellectual to even think of romantic things
Am I the only only one that thinks her expression in the last panel is less than happy? She honestly looks annoyed that he missed her mouth…
@ JavaBeanJohnny:
There is so much wrong with what you just said.
@ Shadow:
Humm good point, she’s on the list too.

Pfft…like that’d happen…
…unless of course there was at least a Rainbow Dash and Applejack in “injured” postures. Then comes coward killing time.
ERMERGERSH IT’S A FLUTTERSHY!! Sandra, you are officially one of my favorite fictional characters in the world.
Raw male sexuality no dame could resist *laughs and rolls on the bed till sides hurt as hell*
