The obvious thing for Sandra to think:- If I save Lily, she might overcome her fear of me and I’ll have another raccoon friend to pet!
The obvious way for Sandra to react:- *yawn* It’s the middle of the night, and it’s raining cats and dogs. Knock yourself out if you want, but… *yaaaawn* ima wuzza… m… *zzzzzzzz*
Which will win out? We shall have to wait and see! On with the story! >:=D>
Oh boy….This kinds of feeling you just don’t ignore, ya know? Even in the middle of a dark stormy night. Boy I sure hope this isn’t a school night for Sandra.
Well, the obvious plot is that since Lily live in a big tree, in the middle of the jungle, without lightning rod whatsoever the tree will be struck by lightning and she well need rescuing by Sandra and Woo team up.
Possible plot twist? The tree isn’t struck by lightning. But…..
Woo: “Thank God you’re safe. I sense that you’re in danger.”
Lily: “Well, as you can see me and my house is in one piece. Even though I think your sense pick up another thing though.”
Woo: “……….. what is it?”
Lily: “I’m pregnant.”
Woo: “What?”
Lily: “with your child.”
Woo: “What?”
Lily: “I already told dad.”
Woo: “What?”
Lily: “He said he want to meet you but first he want to grab his shotgun.”
Hopefully Lilly is okay, but yea-you never ignore those sixth sense tingles. I just hope everything is okay with the young ladycoon.
I can see Sandra heading out with Woo leaving a note for her dad. Then Richard getting worried and calling Cloud to see if she’s there. Then Cloud will get worried and he’ll go all hero mode and then it’ll be a race to find Sandra to make sure she’s okay while she’s trying to make sure Lilly is okay.
And of course Larissa and Lawson will get involved (Larissa cause there could be fire involved and Lawson cause..well, he’s her boyfriend and someone has to protect her).
Then at the big reveal when everyone is yelling at everyone else for being over cautious Woo shouts something to get everyone to shut up and then realizes what he just did with a huge ‘uh oh’ thought balloon hovering over him.
Me: “Well that’s nice, being able to open your window during a storm and have the window continue to keep the rain out so you can look outside without worry of getting yourself or the floor wet. I wish I had a window like that.”
Other fans: “WTF DUDE THIS IS SERIOUS LILY COULD BE SERIOUSLY HURT AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS THE WINDOW!?”
Me: “…Dude, it’s a comic. Of course I care about Lily. Even so, it’s not like she’s gonna die or anything…right?”
Indeed, something terrible has happened to her! She’s been accused of being behind the attack on the Red Hall and imprisoned! She’s to be executed… Wait, wrong comic.
I had a girlfriend once who was an empath, she could tell when someone she cared about was in danger or suffering. There was this one incident where I ended up getting the feeling of “something terrible has happened” that she described when I was camping in Utah. I called her frantically asking if she was ok. As it turns out, she had been dead asleep after a night shift at work, but was ok; however a mutual friend of ours had just learned about the movie theatre shooting in Aurora which had been that night, and that one of her best friends was a victim.
My personal theory on this is that the emotional bond I shared with this girl allowed me to “borrow” her power and pick up on the sensation when she herself was too tired to notice. It’s weird but there you go.
@ AckAckAck:
I think there should be an exclamation point where the last “what?” is, if not a couple more on the ones above it. other than that, i think it would be epic if this is what happens. I would literally die laughing.
@ illeatyourself:
Don’t worry, these Skylight/Window combination units have very deep flashings built in to not let (much) rain by them, even when cracked open an inch or two (3cm – 5cm) for ventilation. You can’t leave it open as far as shown with Woo standing there when it’s raining hard, but Sandra and Woo both know that.
And the Roofer is supposed to put a big frog flashing above the window to divert the rain runoff to the sides, so it doesn’t flood the room if you accidentally left it open – Powree didn’t draw that, but this isn’t ‘Architectural Digest’. It’s Only A Comic Strip, You really should relax.
Why would it be terrible if Lily were pregnant from Woo? I think he’d rather be happy about that.
Yes I know. I just made a joke about typical comedic shotgun wedding that usually involve a happy bride, an irate father (with a shotgun in hand) and a scared groom(COMEDY!). In reality Woo will be happy if Lilly is pregnant with his kits.
………….
Did you just reveal the plot reveal for this story arc?
An adventure in a dark and stormy night? My own adventures with dark and stormy nights usually goes like one of following:
1) It was a dark and stormy night. I didn’t notice since I slept trough it.
2) It was a dark and stormy night. I was busy playing video/computer games.
With choice #2 you will notice too when the storm cut your electricity.
Add another points if the electricity cut during a saving. You know what happened to a save file if it’s stopped abruptly.
Lily better be ok. I really hate it when good characters die (damn Walking Dead).
That’s Walking Dead’s strong point though. In disaster themed movies/TV series audience tend to know the typical tropes like children “invincibility,” good guys survive, the jerk(s) will get their karma in the end of the story etc etc. WD turn all those tropes around.
If anyone wants to know, the person who placed the most recent comic [a dark and stormy night 2]
messed up. the misplaced comic can be found in the comic archive section, in the April 11, 2012 slot.
@ Nix:
Yes, I was thinking the same. I like this more grown look the girls are starting to have. After all, it’s like AckAckAck said, she should be that age now.
I remember Novil making a comment about the ages and art back when they did the swimming/beach plot a few years ago (checked, yes back in Priorities)
@ AckAckAck:
Also, Sandra would not say “CAN I BE THE FLOWER GIRL!” She would try desperately not to think about raccoons having sex. Larisa would be the one desperate to be the flower girl; however, if Larisa is the flower girl, the whole wedding will go up in flames, and I mean that literally.

No no no, the wedding goes up in flames if you don’t let Larisa be the flower girl – and don’t you forget it!
And so the arc begins
Animal instincts: once foresaw natural disasters, Now tells them if their girl/boyfriend is in trouble.
I can see this arc going in many different directions…
I just hope it goes the way I hope it will go.

She was framed!

Or maybe not. Can’t wait to find out though.
Woo senses a disturbance in the Force.

Did he knock her up?
@ Trimutius:
No, but the lightning knocked her down. *rimshot*
Yay! A Woo-centered plot-line! Those are the best ones.
I HAVE been wondering about Lily lately, considering Woo isn’t spending much time with her.
@ Draccoon: If you mean Sandra helping Lily, I hope for that outcome too.
Lily better be ok. I really hate it when good characters die (damn Walking Dead).

I believe it was the nonexistent kind…. but i’m not sure.
Lilith is in danger! I mean, Lily!

@ Leomon:
I think that Woo might inadvertently reveal his secret but I’m not sure how, though. I can only guess what the author has in mind.

Interesting theory. Check out The Secret Science Behind Miracles by Max Freedom Long.
