Don’t miss these amazing animated shorts by Cerberus.
- Lily: Good morning, Woo.
- Woo: Lily?
- Lily: Sandra’s in school. How are you?
- Woo: I’m… … okay.
- Lily: Woo,… you saved my life!
- Woo: I did?
- Lily: Yes, you did. Even if I had survived the lightning strike, the boulders would have crushed me. Woo, …
- Lily: … would you like to be the father of all my kits?(*)
- Caption: (*) = A sacred expression of affection among raccoons who usually don’t mate for life.
@ Lucario:
Some animals do mate for “life”… or as long as the mate is alive. For example jackdaws mate for life.

@ Hex:
D’AWWWWWWWW!

Actually several animals also mate for life. Also some humans have legal polygamy (for 1 male many females) or polyandry(1 female many females).

Actually it’s already explained that Woo has special vocal chords in his throat allows him to speak like human. He’s a special case.

Because I’m evil, John.
And then, several years from now, Woo asks “Lilly? Why haven’t we had any kits?”
@ Taylor:
Well I cannot provide a full reference, however I am a Zoology student and my lecturers did mention this scared expression.
@ PaladinVII:
That would be the lecherous monk Miroku.
I knew this would happen! YES! I called it! Way to go Woo!
I’ve come back to this page day after day, it’s such a lovely sentiment… it always cheers me up. Yay! for Woo, and I’m so happy Lily’s affection for him overrode her natural fears. This is a very-very cool arc. <3
@ Bruce Bergman:
Wolves are actually one of the few species that pair-bond, as are foxes, I’m sure you’ve noticed that Shadow has been with the same vixen for at least four years. Domesticated dogs on the other hand are sluts, it’s why they keep recommending that you spay or neuter them.
And many biologists are moving away from the “alpha male” classification, most natural wolf packs are composed of a breeding pair and their siblings and offspring. The idea that wolves fight for dominance came from observing bunches of unrelated animals crammed together in a confined space.
@ AckAckAck:
It turns out I’ve been singing that wrong for many years!
“Wait, he saved her? No he didn’t! I didn’t see any boulders! WHEN THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-”
*goes through comments, sees one about shelter collapsing, goes back to before the incident, and realizes that the tree that was struck was right above her hiding spot, which I didn’t notice was there before and thus didn’t realize was her shelter*
“…Oh. I stand corrected. But IT WAS STILL HER FAULT FOR FOLLOWING HIM OUT OF HER SHELTER UNINVITED.” |:(
😛
Lily says “Would you like to be the Father of ALL my Kits”….is that implying that she’s already Pregnant?
Love seeing Lily with Woo! Glad she decided the girl was not a threat. Good work.
@ AckAckAck:
Called it. Evil robot from space.
@ Lucario:
There are many animals (besides humans) that mate for life.
So Woo will be the father of all Lily’s kits? Since Raccoons have litters of two to five kits per mating season, It won’t be long before Sandra’s house is Raccoon Central.
“Aunt Sandra, may I have some peanut butter?”
“Me too!”
“And me.”
“Don’t forget me.”
And so on … 😉
@ Zarpaulus:
No..It means that she’s asking him to be her mate and to be the father of their future babies.
@ Lucario:
yes there are, some bird spcies mate for all life…
Hey, you mentioned cerberus! He’s one of my favorite animators ever!
Geeze, so many people arguing over whether species mate for life or not, completely obfuscating the fact that cheating, as a concept, only applies to monogamy. (I’m not sure why it was even brought up, to be honest. Having kits together for a few years and then separating to subsequently find new partners is not cheating by any reasonable definition)

Actually there are several different species of animals that do mate for life, it’s just that this would be highly unusual amongst racoons.
