Unfortunately, the webserver issues are more severe than I thought. There might be a problem that some script running on the website requires too many resources. Therefore I have deactivated all WordPress plugins and the comment section. It will take a while until all features will be activated again since increasing the stability of the webserver is now the most important goal.
Check out the great fantasy/sci-fi comic Gunnerkrigg Court by Tom Siddell if you want to see more of Sir James Eglamore!
- Sir James Eglamore: Now, observe!
- Sir James Eglamore: Ha!
- Cloud: Ah!
- Sir James Eglamore: Klonk?

Roy mustang….is that …you?!
Curses, I’ve been found out.
Most noteworthy
Looks like Sir James is a real heartbreaker.
Bonus points to Eglamore for breaking Cloud’s pride without breaking his spirit – or his hand. He seems to have broken someone else’s heart in the process, though…
My guess for what the heart is: All of the tween girls of the class are standing on the observation platform, and all their collective attraction creates actual solid matter!
Also, was it much trouble to get the site working again?
aww, someone is heart broken over the end of the sword fighting. Interesting technique, striking hard on the weapon to partly disarm.
I fear he might have hit something that he better not should have hit.
Damn, that sounded wrong. English grammar was never my specialty
@TehTimmah: I wouldn’t count on its usefulness – a strong swing has a lot of momentum in it, which leaves one open to a counter-attack if the swing doesn’t connect. Cloud just made the mistake of blocking when he should have feint-blocked or dodged 🙂
Take heart. *Klonk. Oky not That literally….
This does not bode well.
Interesting.Maybe its Sandra’s hart and got the now a big problem.
PS if you have still webserver issues you can decide to delete automatic ale comment older than 3 months / (half) year
Must be all that practice with Jones that lets him hit so hard.
Replies don’t seem to be working, but glad the comments are back up! ^_^
…I feel like that heart might be Zoey’s.
Wait… Eglamore…. As in Gunnerkrigg Court Eglamore? I am an IDIOT
A few observations.
1) Eglamore really did get Mr. Walch to do five laps. Either that or Mr. Walch is simple running away from Eglamore.
2) It was expected that Cloud would have problem against Eglamore. I haven’t read enough of Gunnerkrigg Court to encounter him there, but I assume he’s very skilled with a sword. So is cloud, but he’s twelve while Eglamore is an adult.
3) Looking at the last blow, Eglamore would probably have completely missed his attack had Cloud not blocked. Meanwhile, Cloud almost had his back turned towards his opponent. I don’t think there’s much use to analyze the fight, rule of cool is pretty much what’s going on here.
Being older does not necessarily mean being better, Crystalgate. The adult does not always have the edge, and, depending on whether or not said adult shares your attitude, may even put him or herself at a DISadvantage by underestimating said child. Granted, in this case, it’s reasonable to assume Elgamore has been at it longer and, therefore, is likely better, but not because he’s older. He just strikes me as the sort who got into it at a young age and decided that was his life.
@ … When it comes to fighting with a close range weapon, an average adult has a huge advantage over an average twelve years old. Cloud is of course way better than average, but since Eglamore (I assume) is so as well, the “better than average” kind of cancels each other out. My post strongly implied that I was not talking about a scenario where the kid had way more training than the adult or something like that.
looks like zoey and michelle just had a falling out
It doesn’t look like Cloud was defending. Rather, it looks like Cloud was attacking with a thrust, Eglamore dodged, and then came down with a hard swing to disarm Cloud while he was off balance.
Looks to me more like his back swing hit someone and cloud is more breaking the 4th wall by his comment…
**insert bad heartbreaker joke here** Careful, that heart is gonna fall and hurt someone.
I just realized that you can see the bottom tip of that heart in the top-left of panel 2.
I think the heart is the accumulation of girls love toward Cloud and Eglamore so thick it became solid. And Eglamore accidentally broke their heart….
Klonk!?! This s*** does not go klonk!
When this is over, since James is in the States, maybe he can head over to the Navajo Reservation, or thereabouts, and say high to that mangy old Trickster, Coyote.
He just totally hit Michelle, didn’t he? :p
The transcript neglects this line:
Cloud: ♡?
WordPress sites frequently get hacked!! Also, plugins (esp. community-submitted ones) can be sources of malware for web servers. Strongly advise you switch to a hosted site (e.g. wordpress.com, but can use your own domain name), vs. running your own server — it’s a recipe for disaster from any webcomic artist I’ve ever heard of. P.S. Check out Google Webmaster Tools — as well as your server hosting provider — they often have tools that let you scan websites for malware. (Ever seen a spam email w/ a link that goes to …[examplesite.com]/content/WP-PLUGIN/… (wordpress plugin)…. I.e., most spam is hosted on hacked WordPress (or other) websites. It’s extremely common nowadays.
Heh. Cloud is good, but Eglamore is a master, and superhuman. Cloud really shouldn’t have made his little challenge, now Eglamore can’t go easy on him, he has to teach him a lesson.
It’s probably for the best for Cloud – he never really seemed to act superior or anything (how could he with his mother?), but he was very cocky to challenge a visiting master like that. He may hurt a bit now, but it’ll help him stay humble in the long run.
