- Larisa: I’ll be visiting Landon’s parents for the first time tomorrow. Landon said his mom’s very much against us being together.
- Larisa: She’s supposed to be quite strict and religious.
- Sandra: Liz, I can give you only one tip:
- Sandra: Don’t be yourself!
|
Do as she said, Larisa 🙂
Or you can choose to “persuade” Landon’s mother 🙂
I am very interest in how this visit go’s hoop this is a begin of a story arc
“Well, don’t be your FULL self, anyway.”
Liz? I like this new nickname 🙂

I suppose thanx to Larisa we shall see more links to Russia in future and as I watch things happening in Ukraine, some of them might not be likeable.
@ Luke:
New? That nickname’s been in use since Larisa was introduced, if I recall. If not then – not long after.
Methinks Larisa gets this advice a LOT.
“2 hot 4 hell”. You should know that Hell is frozen:

t.A.T.u is a Russian music group that actually exists (I just learnt that, by looking it up). The two girls that are kissing on the poster are the singers of the group, and are not lesbian: they played as lesbian to support the LGBT cause.
Now, does Larisa having that particular poster means anything?
On a unrelated note, each time I hear the song “Girl on Fire” from Alicia Keys, it makes me think of Larisa… Am I the only one?
Is Landon’s mother a Baptist? Because it sounds like there’s going to be a baptism of fire! >:=)>
Wait, does that mean Landon managed to recover from his BscbL*?
I thought it might end in the need to reinstall him, as a simple reboot would bring him back into the same situation and cause an endless loop.
Knowing Larisa, it’s not impossible that his whole family will need a reboot (and some new fire extinguishers) after her visit.
*Bluescreen caused by Larisa
CouldnMt have said it better my self sandy.
Larisa, unless you can get his mother dirty minded like you…..
@ Egomane:
I suspect that wanting to meet Larisa and not approving of her have something to do with needing to cold boot him.
Oh Lord, she’s going to show up in the world’s most obvious good-Christian-girl costume, leading to much facepalming on the part of poor Landon.
Larissa, you know what must be done: seduce his mother as well!
@ arkane5:
Furthermore, according to this scientific calculation based on scriptural data, Heaven is actually going to be hotter than Hell!
for some reason i see Landon’s mom acting like the moms in the old spice commercials
@ NeonJ:
Really? Wow. I’ve maybe just been an idiot and not picked up on it. It wouldn’t be the first time if done something like that…
@ Greenwood Goat:
I don’t get it. Where is he getting that “seven times seven” from? Sevenfold means 7x, and the next part of the sentence is just reformulating the same, as the bible is wont to do.
Now, I don’t really know anything about the Stefan-Boltzmann whatever, but assuming it’s the same calculation for this value, that would give a total of 232C, which is significantly cooler than the figure he gives for hell (though still impossible to survive in).
It doesn’t really make much sense to me, though: according to his calculations, the temperature the Earth as it is now would be… -27°C (-16.6°F, in case someone is wondering).
I don’t really have the least idea what I’m doing with all these numbers, though, so I’d like it if someone who does could check this.
@ Eebiot:
That or the stories all the parents (of girls at the school), have repeated about her to some of the parents of boys at the school. 😉

She’s Russian. It’s obviously going to be a good-Orthodox-girl costume. ;p
I don’t mean to quote a Woody Allen movie (especially one I don’t like), but this is just a lawsuit waiting to happen!
Wow, T.A.T.U. THAT brings me back. Now I feel old….
In the last panel, Liz’s side profile shows a squarish corner where it should be an even curve, as if the 2HOT4 caption was pasted on and is coming off in one corner.
@ Rex Vivat:
I agree with you that the author erred in interpreting the multiplication factor as 49. It does appear that 7 was the number actually intended by that sentence. But the rest of your comment I don’t understand. With (H/E)^4 = 7 and E = 300 K, we have H = 488 K = 215 C. And I especially don’t get the “the temperature the Earth is now would be” part. The temperature the Earth is now is just a number. He gives that number as 300 K, which is 27 C, not -27 C.

Yes, and Orthodox are Christians.
Love Larisa’s shirt. ^_^
I heard that once from a friend…I was laughing until I heard a “this time it wasn’t a joke”….
Oh God, I can’t wait to see this.
Mmmyeah, I’m offended by the heaven/hell temperature comparison post. Even if we ignore the 7×7 solar radiation problem, there is the odious mistake regarding Kelvin/Celsius conversion. -300 Kelvin is bellow absolute zero, and can be considered impossible by conventional laws of chemistry and physics. In fact, that applies anything bellow 0 Kelvin! Now the actual ‘absolute temperature of the earth’, if it can even be called that, is around 300 Kelvin, or 27 Celsius.
Along a different tangent, if Larisa arrives in an orthodox christian good girl outfit, conflict can still break out over “my sect of Christianity is better than your sect, so you are going to hell” instead of “you are a dirty sinner, so you are going to hell”. Never underestimate the potential aggression of rabidly religious people.
Lesbians, Hell Tee shirt, and a flag that says something. What’s not to like about Larissa’s personality? Oh well I guess Larissa is finally gonna fix her act up when she meets Landon’s parents. Not
Can I has dat lesbian poster in the back?
Or the 180 spin and negotiate a relationship with blowtorch in hand.
Well, this is going to be interesting.
Probably highly flammable, too.
The heat is on.
Who is Liz?
@ Trimutius:
Larissa. And Sandy is Sandra
@ Anime fan:
I’m sure God wants to see this too
Omg, I was JUST thinking for Larissa to act the opposite of herself around Landon’s mom BEFORE reading the last panel.
I’m not sure if I should sympathize more with Larisaa, Landon’s mom, or Landon himself. WELL, here’s what I’LL CHOSE; get myself a bag of chips and enjoy the show.
@ chrisjenl:
I’m sure I’ll end in fire, and lots of therapy for Landon’s mom.
I can’t get over the fact that someone actually remembers tATu.
Larissa, what you’ll need is an open mind, an open heart, and a lot of respect.
Above all, be honest.
@ Vercalos:
Why wouldn’t people remember t.A.T.u.? It hasn’t been that long since the opening ceremony of Sochi…
This makes me wonder if this going the way of that episode of Oh My Goddess Flights of Fancy. where the character Otaki has to meet the father of he new love interest, and tries to class himself up only to find the father is just as Kooky as he is.
I’m always in favor for more Landon strips. The poor guy needs more screen time, he has only been portrayed as Larisa’s boy toy so far, and it’s time that he becomes a character that can stand on his own.
Wow… I knew about t.A.T.u before, and that Larissa was a fan (she must have been excited that they reunited for the Sochi Olympics!), but I did not realize that poster of the band members topless and kissing like that was REAL until I looked that one up! Quite authentic, I must say!
@ Mr_Nabby:
Well, I wouldn’t call him a ‘boy toy’ as he seems to be a good guy who deeper personality traits are simply overwhelmed by his nearness to Larissa.
It could well be that Landon’s life outside school is so controlled and planned (IF his mom is like that) that he welcomes the chaos Lar brings into his life.
That being said I do agree Landon could use a bit more fleshing out. Heck, if there is conflict between Larissa and his mom that could be the trigger for him to step up and be a more involved young man.
@ Michael O:
Tatu wasn’t the big controversy at Sochi, that was a group called “Pussy Riot”. Tatu came to prominence about 20 years ago. It is a very old, but very awesome, reference.
I think they should do a sex education class storyline, that would be hilarious 😀
@ Switch Master:
The flag says “Russia” in Cyrllic text, if I’m not mistaken
