[0590] Michelle Makes A Call
└ posted on Monday, 16 June 2014, by Novil
- Larisa: Don’t be sad, Landon. It was just a picture.
- Landon: It was beautiful…
- Michelle: Have you heard? Landon’s mother deliberately destroyed a painting that Larisa had given him for his birthday.
- Zoey: Wow, that’s low.
- Michelle: “And she has banned Landon from ever seeing her again.”
- Zoey: “Doesn’t look like they’ll stick to it, though.”
- Michelle: Yeah, I really should have a talk with Landon’s mother.
- Zoey: No, Michelle, please don’t…
@ Scrutinizer:
She could just get his home number from the school roster if they have one.
I love the idea that Michelle just happens to have Landon’s home phone number ready to go when needed.
whoa hold now I now you hate but come on that has nothing to do with you , I’m mean what are you going to do next try to get their parents divorced. Besides who are you to stand between love.
I have a feeling this isn’t going to end well for Larisa…
I want to see a showdown between Harriet and Larisa SO badly. It is only a little higher than a showdown between Ye Thuza and Harriet, though.
Ummm, given her facial expression and the way she says it, was i the ONLY person who didn’t think the intent of Michelle’s call was to rat her out? maybe i’m just misinterpreting the art
@ GoogerGeiger:
Landon helped larisa study for a test and that stuff and then DRAGGED him into being her boyfriend using her ‘irresistible hotness ‘ according to some people

Not really, the way she says “have a talk” also seems to say there is no ill intent. The problem though, is we don’t know of any reason Michelle would interven on their behalf. The fandom and Zoey all seem to guess Michelle means ill due to her hatred/animosity toward Larisa.
But who can know until next time.
I find it funny how a lot people assume Michelle is going to tell on Landon. What she said is ambiguous as to whether she is going to try to make it worse or whether she is going to try to make it better. Yet even her best friend worries she shall make it worse.
Nice to see Zoey back again, its been awhile since that arc and I was getting worried that she’d basically fall back into the background after it was over.
I dont think anyone has commented or even noticed this, but there is a certian similarity between the two cases, just different causes and reasons.
Zoey is barred from Michelle possibly forever, just not because of their parents, but due to incompatable orientation.
So while its possible that Zoey is taking to Larisa’s defense because they have a truce, its also possible that she is siding with her because she knows how the alternative feels. To see the person you love every day but to not be able to be with them.
Tis just a thought.
@ TheSquishedElf:
I will never understand that. I’ve outright ditched women I was strongly attracted to for much less than this. I once broke up with a girl who was an easy 8 because she was stupid, and another just for being boring. I get that I’m really picky on the mental side, and I get that I pay less attention to the physical part, but I just can’t imagine staying with a girl I had a serious *moral* objection to.
Yeah myself, Landon’s daddy should really step up and gently speak to his wife and defend his son’s choice of seeing Larisa. The woman can’t keep her son in a bubble forever…

If it ends poorly, it’s very likely for Landon. He is the one who has Harriet as mother.
I’m kinda hopping Landon’s dad says something to his mom. He seems to like Larissa, and the situation is getting ridiculously out of hand.
@ Crestlinger:
Ball Buster!!!
Am i the only one left wondering why michelle has Landons house number. Im not sure ive ever seen them interact
@ john willow:
Because Harriet and Landon both have ties to the Republican party. And fascism.

I’m with you. The first thing I saw was she was planning to make things hard for Landon’s mom. After all, this is a teenager seeing another teen being abused by ‘the older generation’.
Michelle may not be all bad.
bzzzt, bzzt “hello”
“oh is this Landon’s mom?”
“Yes, it is. Who are you and how do you know my son?”
“Oh I go to school with him and Larisia. I gotta thank you.”
“What?”
“Yeah, when Larisa was his girl friend, the rest of us didn’t dare have fun with him. Now, without her protection, he’s free game” …click…

Hmm. This should be interesting… wait, why is she getting involved??
the scene of them kissing is cute <3
@ Casey Woodard:
Judging by their shared
bigotryfundamentalism, they may well go to the same church. (I mean, Michelle is anti-gay, any church that’d enable or even tolerate an evil bitch like Harriet would probably be anti-gay too.)I like how Michelle is this unforgivable little devil, yet Larisa is just a lovable scamp.
Ratting on the two would be far less of an asshole move than Larisa feeding Zoey her own homework.
I’m going along with the “Michelle is actually trying to help Larisa and Landon” crowd. As to why? My only guess is that she’s matured somewhat by now and has developed a sense of fair play.
But I’m not discounting the possibility that a leopard doesn’t change its spots.

@ GoogerGeiger:
“toying” is maybe a harsh assessment, though she surely didn’t take the relationship then as seriously as she does now. but it’s pretty normal and common for something that started out “for fun” to pretty easily develop into something “for real.”
as for why they got together in the first place, it’s anyone’s guess- maybe larissa kind of wanted something normal-ish for a change? if nothing else, all her previous ‘boyfriends’ (term used in the loose middle school sense of the word) were there when it was convenient for them as much as not, or possibly only at their convenience, whereas landon has been a steady presence from the start. as i recall, he offered his help unasked when larissa was in a pinch, and genuinely expected nothing in return- probably kind of a new and pleasant thing for larissa.
in any event, however their relationship started, it’s pretty clear that they genuinely care for each other, enjoy each others’ company, and are happy in a healthy and fulfilling relationship now, and isn’t that the important part? who cares about why??

This would only make the horrid situation some form of hell.
From bad… to worse.
Harriet, for example, could and possibly would send Landon to some strict-@$$ Catholic school with fascist teachers and “old-school” rules. Welcome to hell.
I don’t normally browse webpages very often, and I’m not entirely sure how I ended up here… but I do find these comics adorable. I was quite pleased with what I’ve read so far. This was definitely the highlight of my day after a very long time spent at work… Thank you for this smile!
@ Leomon:
Maybe he father is Landon’s pastor or her mother is in a more dominant position in the same social circle or something like that.
To those who are mentioning that Landon will be caught in the crossfire… Michelle might actually dislike Landon for some reason, because he makes Larissa happy.
And since Michelle dislikes Larissa, not without reason, causing agony by proxy is a realistic thing to have happen. Just a thought.
I see a few people saying that Michelle and Larisa have history. As far as I can see, the only time they’ve interacted is when Michelle called Larisa a slut. Everything else has been Michelle and Sandra or Larisa and Zoey. There may be more off-panel, but we haven’t seen it (obviously).
