- Larisa: I’m sorry, but I couldn’t do my math homework because I spent the whole day helping out in the orphanage.
- Larisa: Little Tim, for example, lost both his parents when he was only two! Just imagine it!
- Larisa: I was so happy to see a little smile on Tim’s face again when I played with him.
- Larisa: Those poor, poor orphans…
- Larisa: Come on, Cloud! That was at least a 5.0!

Nope, not buying it Larissa. Anyone who actually knows you would KNOW that you’re trying to pull a fast one, regardless of how well you acted.
Anyone notice that Sandra and Cloud are wearing the same shirt? 😀 😀 😀
So…just like the rest od the world, we will never know what happened to what’s-her-name.
I am surprisingly OK with this.
I have to agree with Landon its 5.3 she shouldn’t have ended with tears
The tears are a nice touch though.
I’ve always found that the old ‘I’ve left it at home and will bring it in tomorrow’ excuse works very well. Though, it only buys you an extra day so you’re going to have to do it that night and bring it in the next day…
In an unrelated note, today was a great day because I’ve just seen Guardians of the Galaxy. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, go watch it. The film is amazing.
Dang it, Cloud. You had one job.
@ Luke:
Guardians kicked ass. The raccoon in it kept me thinking of Woo a little bit.
Tsk tsk tsk Larisssa, Cloud only gave you 4.7 because you use Timmy. Timmy name is a bit overused. But I have to agree with @ Nachtschattengewächs: though, the crocodile tears earn you a couple points.

THIS! Hey Novil, this movie got a gun toting Raccoon in it! Why don’t you talk about it?
WTF? I don´t understand the marking. What 5.0 means? Is that cultural backround kind of joke?
I am surprised Landon was brave enough to give less than an 8
@ Robin_WH:
If this helps: cold war Olympics, the Russian Judges.
I assume we will never know where ol’ Dorothy Cambridge went to. Y’know, I think I’m okay with that.
The whole feminism arc seem to have ended rather abruptly. Not that I mind.
Just pretend Cloud rates on a scale from 1 to 5, Larisa.
Teacher (thinks): Go on and rub it in… the kindnesses you claim stand in stark contrast to the reality of what you will do if I don’t accept your excuses. I really like my things the way they are, and don’t want you burning any of them down. Still… at least she’s not as bad as that Yuna Williams… *shudder*

Hasn’t there been enough controversy in the last little while? ‘Gun toting’ and ‘Germans’ don’t really go well together, for the most part (there are exceptions).
If you want more than a 5 then make new excuses. The ‘helping in a orphanage’ excuse was already used when my grandpa went to school!
All hail Larisa! Our future elected leader!
If it were Sandra, I wonder what Cloud would rate the excuse then?
the teachers response is perfect.
still, why dose he look like a referee?
Eh 4.5
i mean come on “little Tim” try not using the Christmas carol

It’s a competition thing. The scores are on a scale from 1 to 10, so Cloud just said Larissa’s act was poor.
Nope sorry Larisa, although the degree of difficulty was reasonably high, you just didn’t stick the landing. Gymnastics/Figure skating references ftw!
All score being relative, I give Larisa’s Lies a 5 out of 10. Its got some good emotional moments but you’re taken out of the immersion of her lie at the end by her acknowledging her fellow students at the end.
So…that was it? That was the entire arc?
…it’s been nice reading you, Sandra and Woo. Goodbye.
Totally off topic of today’s strip, does anyone else now want to see the S+W gang as The Guardians of the Galaxy?
Woo=Rocket
Cloud=Starlord
Sandra=Gamora
Richard=Drax
David=Groot
Just my random ‘wouldn’t that be cool’ thought for the day
the worse is…if you follow Sandra and Woo, no one here would buy that Knowing Larissa.
Sorry Larissa, that was very fair and friendly from Cloud
@ emporerofnorthia:
“Oh! She failed to land correctly!”
Sorry, Larissa, we have to strike Landon’s score as playing favorites. Cloud’s score is probably closer to the truth. I felt the tears were just a touch over the top. Sorta like putting caramel sauce on top of the cherry and whipped cream on the hot fudge sundae. Just way to much sugar… 🙂
@TheJAM: nope, they’re not the same. Cloud’s shirt doesn’t have the stripe on the sleeves, only on the chest.

The raccoon is obviously Woo’s great-great-grandson.
Obviously.
Well at least fire wasn’t involved so ya gotta give her credit for that.
Switch Master: So Larissa how big was Tim’s smile?
Larissa: Real Big
Switch Master: So let me guess,The fire departments over by the orphanage right now aren’t they?
Larissa: You bet Switchy!!!!!
Switch Master: How predictable. Hey you wanna shoot flaming darts at a target with Harriet and Cambitches face on it?
Larissa: Hellz yhea!!! I’ll get the fire.
Switch Master: No use these rocket launchers I brought.
Larissa: (Sheds a tear) You make me Proud Switchy.
Switch Master: 🙂
@ Carl W. Roden:
Me Too!!!!!!
@ Carl W. Roden:
I agree, Rocket was awesome. His lines had me in stitches so many times.
Why do I have the feeling we may be seeing a GOTG inspired strip soon? Yup I can feel its gonna happen soon.
I see they aren’t using Cambridge school uniforms anymore 🙂
@ The J.A.M.:
Nope, Cloud’s is shortsleeve and has no stripes on the arms. Nice try though.

Not only the Christmas Carol, but that was Lassie’s little boy (though Lassie was really Laddie).
That Name comes up a couple other ‘legends’, too.
Have to wonder if this was the same orphanage that attacked Richard (LFGcomic), plausible if she was working there.
Sorry, Larisa, we know you too well.
So, the Cambridge arc is over? I know I may be in a minority, but I was hoping for it to have some sort of epilogue.
Leomon wrote:
I have to disagree with you. I think Sandra is Star Lord and Larisa is Gamora. And I don’t know who to assign to Drax and Groot.
Also, yup, that movie was pretty funny. I was left wondering how long Rocket’s lifespan is…
Anyone else thinking a comic should be done with the cast of Sandra and Woo posing as the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy? XD
that orphanage ATTACKED me!!!!
@ Xezlec:
Rocket’s lifespan will be determined largely by how profitable his series is.
As She-Hulk once said “As long as I have my own book, I don’t need to worry about wrinkle cream.”
Someone should tell Larisa that in most of North America orphanages do not exist anymore.
It’s true. Wikipedia has the whole story for the curious, so I shall not burden you with it here.
Orphanages still exist in the poorer and developing nations, but you’ll have a hard time finding one in the US or Western Europe.
Aand we’re back!
@ honnza:
Sandra’s is also long-sleeved.
Larissa, dear, if anything your friends and boyfriend are being too generous.
That lie doesn’t even rate as a 2.0 in my eyes. =_=
It seems like they are trying to teach Larisa how to lie. Apparently, they are doing a pretty good job. Unfortunately, it seems that the problem is more in the fabrication and less in the form…
Also, Larisa must have been trying to improve her grading by her peers (about lying) by using her firey temperment (sorry, couldn’t resist…) to her advantage.
I would tell that she would (or should) still be a bad liar. At least there is some way to keep everyone else safe from her pyromania…
On my previous comment, when I said “form” I meant her body language, and facial expressions. She could make for a good seductress if she didn’t need to fabricate any lies to become a seductress. She could fit in with red in MTG.
I bet the detention teacher hasn’t been given any lip from Larisa before. His face looks worried.
Very worried… He might try to intervene later…
