- Sandra: Daddy’s boss and his wife are coming for dinner, so I want to see you on your best behavior this evening. Understood?
- Woo: Understood.
- Woo: My excellent behavior this evening shall become a shining example for all of raccoonity!
- Sandra: Woo!!
- Woo: What!?

…..
I….
sheesh…
I still hang around late on Sundays and Wednesdays to update S&W right on the button.
Sometimes it’s worth it.
This one was worth it. Quality gag, in-your-face delivery, characters doing what they do, social commentary if you care to dig for it. Good writing, funny art, this is S&W as it should be.
Well, to be fair to Woo, Sandra SHOULD have explained what she meant!
There’s a joke about turkey and stuffing somewhere, but I’m waaay too lazy to find it.
I take it “behavior” and “performance” are synonyms in Woodland?
The cultural differences between me and this comic kept me from finding this funny. Seriously, whatever next?
It seems that Lily doesn’t have any problems with her food envy at the moment.
Oh my days my eyes were not prepared for that!
Great shock gag xD
Love your art but this joke wasn’t for me, I’m now sitting here trying to figure out how Woo, who was raised by humans for years, missed the whole sex makes humans freak out thing…
WOO. OUTSIDE. NOW. FOREVER.
kitenkaiba wrote:
Maybe because that hasn’t been a problem in their household yet? Being raised by humans doesn’t mean you know everything about them, and there are actual human kids who have situations like this all the time. It’s how they learn.
Whelp
So much for this comic.
Thanks for the good ones, but there’s been too many questionable ones of late.
Will still read Gaia for a bit but it’s slow going too.
@ pip25:
Eeewww, animals have sex. How horrible.
@ kitenkaiba:
Errr… He was raised by a twelve year old girl. Also, the “culture shock” is a comedy tool that has been used on multiple occasions, be it regarding food manners or putting dead animals in others’ school bags. Woo is still very much a racoon, and racoons have been depicted in S&W as fully hedonistic.
Dude, This is a little over the top and I’m Crazy. But seriously he would get kicked out of the house for this behavior if I was in anyone of these characters shoes…….This should take a serious turn….It would take a miracle to save this raccoon after this. But a lesson should be taught.
Also takes big balls to even try this joke.
Is there an uncensored version?
@ Zero:
I sincerely hope not.
i fricked out for a moment because I thought that he talked instead of thinking
Of all the ways I expected this strip to end…
…that definitely wasn’t one of them.
I love this comic to death. On my second readthrough now. That said… this… this was a no. I’m kind of hoping this is a prank pulled either on the author by a friend or on us by the author.
If the latter: +9001 troll points to the author
All Lily wanted to do was imitate the turkey on the table.
YES, WOO! Show them the power and strength of a male raccoon when making love to his mate! This will not only wow the people watching, but will prove you, more than anyone else, have made the best performance of all!
Thumbs up, author people.
…Do I even want to know?
I… I was not expecting this. Very well done. I’m on my phone so the first thing I did was zoom in on the first two panels. Then I scrolled over and that was right there. Just wow.
Y’know what’s worse? When Sandra shouts Woo’s name, if you take it on the wrong context, or if you don’t know the raccoon’s name… It…It sounds like she’s cheering…For the act…
Suddenly I want to be a Raccoon.
Censorship is everywhere…
JUMPED THE [ ]ING SHARK!! WITH ONE PANEL NO LESS!!!!!!!!!!
One of the reasons S&W keeps me coming back for more are all the silly prudes in the comments who unfailingly fall for the controversy bait that the strip casts every so often. It is an education an all the ways people can get outraged from the littlest things and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that the authors get as much amusement from it.
The most surprising thing is that after almost 700 strips people have not come to expect this stuff and how they are still so many of them if time after time they claim that “this is the strip that broke the camel’s back” for them.

Oh, THAT’S why you fricked out.
This is definitely the edgiest strip in the history of S&W. You successfully shocked me. Like, mouth agape over here. Kudos to Powree for not being too weirded out to draw it!
Just… wow.
Wow.
Wut
And that’s all there is to say
I never read the comments, but I hope there will be baby raccoons soon! Racoons in the real world are adorable, especially their babies!
I was beginning to wander when we’d see Lily again…didn’t think it’d be in such a… hmm… personal moment.
That look on her face though. Even eating Woo can certainly satisfy his lady. LOL
@ RHS0:
I’ve been hoping that too for a while now.
I mean…I never get upset by the controversial stuff occasionally addressed in this comic. Hell I enjoyed reading the comments of upset people over some of it while laughing. That said…this one kinda gives me the heeby jeebies. I think because for the most part its a story revolving around kids and a pet raccoon. I mean…that censor bar doesn’t mean it suddenly isn’t raunchy. And sex-raunch + kids = … >.>
I’m not saying this is over the line. But it does rather make me feel….uneasy. That said, i’d never dream of stop reading over something like this. Comic is great. Think i’m just gonna try to forget I saw this one yeah?
Well… wasn’t expecting that. What’s Sandra gonna do to Woo? I’m pretty sure she isn’t too happy about this.
… Hm…
You know, i kinda wish he had said it aloud. We could have had a few strips of Woo trying to explain, only for the boss to say “the racooon talks?!”
Ok so the joke can be explained two ways:
1. It’s stuffing the turkey joke.
2. So I did some digging in in social behavioural of Raccoons in the wild. The fact is they are a well known “Fission-Fusion Society.” So they are sharing the place for play, feed, and of course…. mating. So it seems like for Woo social gathering means to enjoy food, play with stuff and…. banging your mate in front of hilariously horrified guests.
kitenkaiba wrote:
You think just because animals are raised by humans for years they will start behave like them? Then why cats mating in the family room while everyone can see them? Or dogs mating in the front yard where passerby can see them doing it. Or dogs humping people leg is a well known joke? Animals, no matter how tame they are, still acting like wild animals from time to time. Do you expect a dog will start sitting upright and sipping tea while holding a cup with his fore paw?
@ kitenkaiba:
He’s being raised by a guy who as far as we’ve seen has never been laid, as well as a 12 year old grl whoa gain, has probably yet to be laid. Before then he was raised by a psycho who likely was never laid without paying for it. So…. yeah…..
Yeah… I’m going to have to come out of the shadows here to say WTF!!
This is a blatent use of shock humor, which is fine, and the situation matches with the character personalities, but this doesn’t seem to mesh well with the comics general “taste.” Sure, we have precedence in Shadow’s revenge against the photographer (comic [0615] Fox Fan), but this seems worse somehow. I think it’s in the details: Lily’s face, the proximity to food, amidst a group, that it is undeniably characters we know. That’s probably the worst part, at least in Fox Fan there was a plausible anonymity to the fox photos, but this is saying “Look at this, this is what they look like during sex. You can not forget it.”
I really like this comic, but this really upsets and saddens me that this has been tossed into my face all of a sudden
From now on, every time I have a girlfriend and she tells me to be on my best behavior for something, this comic will come into my mind.
@ Pylgrim:
You and me both.
well, to be fair, in the butterfly-arc the goddess threw an orgy(!) to celebrate, so maybe this IS standard racoon behaviour when having a feast.
Hey I’m reading this and I would just like to say I love your comic that being said I normally show this comic to my little brother as it stays on the clean side which I appreciate. Also as a reader I would prefer stuff like this to stay out of the comic. I don’t have a problem with stuff like this per se its just that there are other places I can go to read stuff with offensive humour like that. I love your comic but I hope I will not have to see more of this in the future.
Is one of them infertile or something? I thought I would have seen some Woo kits running around the panels by now.
Come on, Woo. You’re a raccoon, not a Member of Congress.
@ Xezlec:
r
This got you? IMHO the taunting of Cloud and his boner crossed far more “important” boundaries (and was hilarious, damn did it suck being a teen boy). (I do see you are just expressing “Wow” vs. disapprobation). That said, this is not being shown to my 9 year old anytime soon….
So yes, this is certainly the raunchiest strip so far, insomuch that it required a Censor Bar™.
I wonder, if there is a situation where Sandra and Cloud go to visit Raccoon Territory, Woo and Lily will be just as shocked when S&C don’t try mating at all… 😛
Woo just looks… So natural, happy, and self-satisfied. Who’s a good little raccoon? Woo is? Woo is!
He’s like a cat bringing a bloody squirrel corpse to the porch door. So sure he’s done right, so desperately mistaken.
@ Sarusig:
But *on the table.* Yeesh. At least cats are (usually) discreet about mating.
