Our reader Paul informed me that Butterfly climbed 213 metres up the Toronto condo tower to train her stamina.
- Richard: This was the worst week at work since that pack of coyotes ravaged the server room.
- Richard: A three year old toddler couldn’t have been more obnoxious than this woman.
- Richard: And worst of all, her code is 57% faster than mine.
- Melody: I love this song.
- Richard: So why, in God’s name, did I invite her to dinner?

I love the raccoon gizmo on the dashboard!! Too bad love doesn’t work like code Richard.
Well, Java sort seriously talking… writing something 57% faster is actually possible… Java is just not very effective from many points of view…
But well a lot of people called it… And as i said, hate and love are pretty similar… Indifference is opposite of love, and he was definitely not indifferent, so was she =)
Pack of coyotes? 😀 how did that happen?
Not gonna lie, I would totally put a Woo bobblehead on my dashboard.
As obvious as this joke was, I like the way it was executed.
Because you’re a glutton for punishment, and this arc is too good to leave alone yet.
I’m guessing the bobble head raccoon was probably a gift from Sandra
Either that or she stuck it down with superglue without Richard’s permission and he couldn’t bother fetching a crowbar. Seriously. That stuff is strong
Frikken Called it! FRIKKEN CALLED IT!
Yay
Ummm . . . because you’re hoping Lily and Woo will be on their best behaviour? Although how that would work to your advantage I don’t know.
To answer your question with a question, why did she accept?
Just remember rules 1 and 2 of optimization, Richard: ‘Don’t’ and ‘Don’t yet’.
Readability > Efficiency!
@ Blitzkrieg1701:
Now THIS is merchandise I would buy…
Answer 1: because she’s cute in spite of all that.
Answer 2: you’re hoping that your daughter will deal with her for you…
I KNEW it!
Because you’re hoping that knowing her away from work will help you deal with her at work.
Okay, I was kinda hoping for this, but now I’m wondering how Sandra would react.
Would Melody find out about Woo?
I love reading this comic on my mobile since I can zoom in on the first panel without seeing the other ones. It’s what made the one where Sandra and Cloud are talking about the next step so great. Also that one where Woo is told to be on his best behavior.
A lady friend of mine once told me that arguing with a man attracts and holds his attention, and she claimed that it worked on the man she eventually married.

NEW MERCH CONFIRMED!!!
@ Paeris Kiran:
Remember that Sandra and Woo occupy the same world as Gunnerkrig Court. So the pack of coyotes in the server room was probably part of some incredible plan by Coyote to achieve a cryptic goal.
Gasp! Coyote wants Cloud to leave Sandra and fall in love with Annie!
Sigh. People just don’t get percentages, do they.
In your previous comic, Melody stated that his code was 57% slower than hers.
That means they have relative values of 100:43, viewed as Melody:Richard.
The problem is…
Let’s now look at it from Richard’s perspective.
43:100.
Only, in order for him to utilise percentages from his point of view, you have to scale it such that his value is 100.
Or, in other words,
100: 10000/43 (which comes out to 232.558 etc)
Now, 232.558 isn’t 57% faster than 100… It’s 133%. (To the nearest percent)
d’awwwwww confirmed
Richard! No! Run away, my friend, RUN FOR YOUR VERY LIFE!!!!!
Agreed though MOTHERFLIPPING adorable couple.
Oh, and if Rich is right, rather than melody, then he’s 37% (to nearest percent) slower.
@ Eternis:
I think any time you’re talking about “this is x% more less than that” you’re bound for confusion. I would read 57% slower as “requires 1.57x as much time” so her code runs in (100/157) = 0.64x time, so “36% faster”
‘Cause she’s cute! Hell I’d ask her out if I wasn’t married, old, etc.
Saw this coming… plz…
Why not something less cliché?
Is that a Woo bobble-head?!
@ Leomon:
Annie is in no state to date what with the current going ons! :'(
Is it just me or is the next> button missing from the previous page?

In general, it’s less effective the older the man is: after about 25 they’re increasingly more likely to perceive it as an indication that the lady is still stuck in a teenage mindset.
Which is fine in this case, since pretty much ALL the adults in this series are still stuck in a teenage mindset.
GO! BUTTERFLY!
GO! BUTTERFLY!
GO! BUTTERFLY! GO!
And I’ll wait for the encounter between Melody and Sandra & Woo!
Uh-oh. It’s Cardassian courtship, only set in reverse…! o_o
I’m more concerned about the pack of coyotes at the server room. I hope we can see the story behind that.
Wait… last comic said 57% slower, and this says 57% faster. Those aren’t equal. (75 is 25% less than 100 but 100 is 33.3% more than 75).
MATH NITPICKING
So any one else thinking were gonna see another emergence of Hard Mode Woo when she boops him on the nose?

Wow… that conflict management session went better than expected.
It’s a match made in hell!

Shipping this so hard.
