I have posted the first batch of submissions I received for this year’s artwork contest!
What’s life without a controversial story arc every now and then?
Of course this touchy subject will be handled in a mature and thoughtful manner serve as the source for lots of immature jokes.
If you need even more to discuss, here’s a spoiler for this story arc: Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street bank, becomes involved in some way… I’m sure you didn’t expect that. 😉
- Text message: For your birthday, a pic of me in my birthday suit. LYL, Larisa
- Caption: Send to all
- Caption: Send to Landon
- Larisa: Oopsie.

@ Sarusig:
So it’s OK to make jokes about receiving child pornography here. Gotcha.
Well my birthday is coming up soon. Maybe I should check my SnapPic account?
@ Jim:
Not child-porn. It was taken by the an underage girl to send to a underage guy. No more porn than a toppless picture on a beach is porn. The intent is what makes it good or bad. Is the Venus de Milo porn? Is your girl friends sexy pictures porn?
Well That’ll ruin yer day.

Unfortunately, that is still widely considered pornographic to most people and the legal system (unless its a gray area like New York city).

…but got sent to everyone on her contact list; a number of them who are adults who are now in possession of, and could be arrested for (if they fail to delete it), child pornography.
To Mr. Random and AshKetchup: when I was in middle school, something along these lines did happen (despite circumstances which one would think would conspire against such things), so yes, not exactly unreasonable.
Also, Leomon, Jim, and any others discussing the penalties: 1 month suspension, nothing more if memory serves, but the school had a pretty screwed up sense of discipline (I won’t go into details, but it’s somewhat disturbing when you put it together).

Only if they feel like not-so-spontaneously combusting. It is Larisa, after all.
@ Jim:
The joke is that she sent something to “all”. Which she clearly didn’t because the guy who made the joke didn’t receive it. The content was not the joke. The joke is the 4th wall breaking of the comment. You will find humor like that all the time in the comments.
In fact the fact that you went straight to “this is a guy requesting sex pics from a minor” is super disturbing. You have a dirty mind.
Isn’t it amazing that, after all these years of this Exact Same “OOPSIE” actually Happening to Real People, none of these “Apps” has yet installed an “Are You Really, Really, Really, 100% SURE?” button?
A person could begin to think that, somewhere in the Software Development Process, there are a small, dedicated group of people who Vote that “Feature” Down every time some naive soul suggests it…
Since Landon’s mom is what she is, Larissa could put him into danger by sending a nude picture of herself. Other than that, Landon has been shown to be considerate and their relationship is stable, so the risk of something bad happening to Larissa is much lower than in the average case. Of course, if she accidentally sends it to everyone, then it’s no longer so much about Landon as it is about everyone on her contact list.
The problem with sending nude pictures of yourself is that it’s apparently easier for most people to do so instead of directly showing their body to their partner while at the same time being riskier. Basically, your shyness betrays you and steers you to a more dangerous path.
@ Robert: I don’t know how I feel about this.
This might hold unforeseen ramifications…

Hmmm, depending on which direction this arc takes, I predict that the comments will be closed before it finishes.
@ AshKetchup:
There was girl who put naked pics of herself (age 15) she was charged with disseminating child porn over the internet.
oh well, fortunately Larisa is a pyromaniac everyone is afraid of…
jokes will be severly punished I guess… however she should call Landon NOW.

Larisa should be 12…
This comic went up the day after my birthday.
@ Qohen I think the first panel has… uhmm auto-enhance feature enabled. XD
Nothing good could ever come of a “Reply to all” and/or “Send to all” button
This is a lecture – newer use lousy machine for something critical…
do it properly… get USB cable, dowload it and send it by email.
Compose a NEW email with no set of adresses.
write the adress manualy in
MUCH safer…
but there should be an “oopsie” tag… not just Larisa 😀
My concern is that Larissa will come into conflict with the child pornography laws!
Gamesman wrote:
This act is called “sexting.” When performed by underage children, there is in fact a mountain of legal precedent that absolutely makes it a case about distribution and possession of child porn. Both Larisa and anyone on that list could end up being arrested for this. This has HAPPENED. Underage girls sending pictures of themselves naked getting arrested for doing so.
Why do I have a feeling that she did it completely on purpose, just to brag for Landon. She might even have done it only to tease him.
I gotta say, I’m with her. Thoroughly looking forward to his reaction.
There are three ways this could go. The joke way, the serious way and the for-a-while-serious-then-joke way. Since Novil is up for any of the three, we can’t predict which it will be.
But it’s entirely possible that Larisa will get into big trouble for this.
Put simply, the laws regarding so-called “child pornography” are just plain stupid. By being over-broad, ill-defined and draconian, they do nothing to protect children and, in cases like this, actually harm the children they’re pretending to protect.

Actually, the “Reply to all” button is very useful in email conversations, when you don’t have a forum for that sort of thing.
“Send to all” though? what kind of app would allow you to send content to every single address/number? Making groups and putting the group’s name to send it to everyone on there, sure, but that’s it.
@ Ephesus:
Things like Facebook and Twitter let you send messages that are public by default, while also including a lesser-used feature for sending things privately.
Wow. There’s so very many ways this could go.
Landon’s mom could freak out, only to be reminded that without Larisa, he would become gay.
Police getting involved can go any number of ways, most of them not good at all.
Someone could end up getting nabbed on child porn charges without knowing they have the image.
Larisa could find herself with a stalker.
Gah…

It’s a bit like the Doctor Who episode Blink, in which the weeping angels can only move when unobserved. Whenever anyone looks at them, they appear to be statues. Even when none of the characters in the show can see them, they are frozen in place, because you can still see them.

When’s the last time you read the three popups that windows gives you when you try to install something?
Unless the app had some logic to recognize possible nudity, and respond to it with a second, occasional, warning, it’d be of no use within a week of regular use.
Reading the comments, I can’t help but wonder why the USA hasn’t applied military separation lines for children on nude beaches, in dressing rooms and so forth.
Oooh, I get it. They can’t! Because the soldiers themselves would be infused with satanic thought!

Looking at the angle she is holding her phone, it’s quite possible the photo only shows Larissa’s head, shoulders and a bit of cleavage – just like we see – so no question of pornographic images.
I think the best part is how she wasn’t completely “NNNNOOOOOOOO” about it. It’s like she spilled a glass of water and figured “meh”.
in the words of the legendary George Takei.
Oh Myyy
@ Daevad:
Somehow “oopsie” doesn’t even BEGIN to describe that problem.
Cloud checks his inbox, sees “from Larissa” and opens.
Cloud: Not again.
Well, looks like we’re going to get at least three, I’d say, new porn picks of Larissa online now.
The worst thing about this is that there is 99.99 % chance that the images will be re-sent worldwide, uploaded to porn sites and downloaded to millions of pedophiles’ collections…
No, scratch that. The worst thing is that there are real kids doing that like all the time. I know of several cases. It often ends with the parents of the girl who sent the pictures brawling with the parents of the kid who taunted him to do so, and the teachers desperately trying to stop the rumor mill at school…
Because there is no way taking a naked picture of yourself on you’re cell can go wrong.
I can only imagine how many horrible things she’s done and her reply to that was “oopsie.”
Just one of many reasons why you shouldn’t be taking naked pictures of yourself.
And the Rule 34 artists will go nuts in 3… 2… 1…
@ Paeris Kiran:
I seemed to have missed this one…
define “all”
I didn’t get nothing
The twist: She’s actually wearing a sleeveless strapless women’s suit.
