- Sandy South: Sandy South, private eye extraordinaire, is setting out for the Crunchies Inc. headquarters.
- Sandy South: But what’s this–?!
- Sandy South: Sabotage! Our enemies are already on our tails, Qoo!
- Qoo: If I remember correctly, Richard’s told you three times to buy a new tire for your bike.
- Sandy South: Fortunately, they don’t seem to have spotted our “second car”.
- Qoo: Please don’t say…
- Zoey: I looked up “Uncool” on Wikipedia, and there was just a picture of you!
- Sandy South: Eat boogers and die!
A collapsible scooter is actually a really good choice of transport, you’ll never get a flat and it’s light enough you can carry it when it’s not in use.
“Eat boogers and die!” Still one of my favorite come-back lines in all of literature.
Woo seems to be becoming less enthusiastic about the Qoo role lately. I wonder if that’s just this chapter or if it will remain true throughout the Under a Killer Balloon series.
I’m beginning to like Qoo more and more.
“Eat boogers and die”? I thought Sandra was too old for that…
Qoo, you a suffering for a just cause!
Well… nice 🙂
Maximum swag achieved

I beg to differ. My old scooter did get a flat. (Which may or may not have to do with living on a large hill with no stop zone. I used the brake a lot.) Let’s just say biking with a flat tire is a lot more comfortable than using a scooter with a flat side on a wheel.
Well, a scooter isn’t so bad. It could have been a tricycle. 🙂
Or she could strike at Zoey’s vulnerable heart with:
Sandy South: Accessorise with boogers and die!
Zoey: Eugh! *cringes under the impact of this mental image*
>:=)>
@ Lucario:
If you managed to wear out your wheel by braking, how did you not melt off your shoes?! (This is also why I learned never to Scooter barefoot)
In other news, scooters make great transportation around a college campus, though If you want to be “cool” about it you should probably spring for the big wheeled adult sized model.
The “I looked up X and found a picture of you” is one of my favorite underused jokes of all time
@ Wyzwon:
Indeed. I remember seeing several guys using one during my time at the ETH in Zurich. Indoors even.
Sorry, Sandy. I really have to side with Zoey on this one.
Qoo, the only reason you keep your job is… because you’re better than Sandy South
I honestly can’t stay mad at Zoey. She’s too adorable.

Sandy doesn’t care about being too old for something.
Alternatively:
Zoey: Halloween was in October, you super dork!
Sandy South: It is October!
But it does seem Zoey is running a strip late this episode.
I lol’d when I saw the bag over “Qoo’ s” head.
I really like the expressions in the third panel. And Powree’s doing some great detail work here too!
@ Lookfar:
I agree…
“They see me rollin’, they hatin’…”
This one made me dislike Zoey even more. If there is one thing I hate, it is how people are vain and caring what other think about them. Zoey seem to be a such person. Also, she seem to like to to be mean with people, which is a very bad side.
I would never have considered Sandra’s “other car” to be uncool. And if it is uncool in the eyes of the other, she got all my respect for going against the crowd. She is a good girl not just following the crowd.
@ Not vain:
It’s a callback to the last Sandy South storyline. She wasn’t using her “second car” that time.
Still, I thought Zoey agreed with Larisa to scale back on the horribleness not too long ago?

That silly prejudice about how tricycles are just for kids makes it pretty hard to find a trike made for adults. I’d still take one over a bike any day, balancing is for losers.
Question (as an uncool old fart): What’s wrong with a skateboard? Are they not “cool”?
I still see lots of kids around using them. And they are even more “compact” than a scooter.
Hey Zoey.
“Eat boogers and Die”
I could have sworn Sandra said the same exact thing in the last case…
Woo is just done.
Poor woo…..
But at least he will die long before she she so old that this will look really really rally embarrassingly pathetic… some far of woo descendant will probably be forced to endure that…
in the wild they have a 2-3 year expected life span… in captivity about 20 so arguably woo is a hybrid… say maybe 15 years…
so Woo the fifth or forth will be out solving a conspiracy with Sandra in her 70ties if she does not grow out of this horribly uncool habit with age…
Right now in Czech Republic in the middle of Europe… And this is real in here. They really changed our favourite biscuits (Tradiční piškoty Opavia). There is already on-line riot about it. Main problem is, they moved production into Poland and change ingredients and now it tastes horrible. Almost not edible.
Her tire met Shreddies it seems.
@ Wyzwon:
Some local Amish youth ride scooters with 20-inch (~51-cm) bicycle wheels and brakes. Those things roll.
I am so tempted to edit Sandra on a scooter picture into Wikipedia.
Zoey is being quite uncool herself. That said, Sandra’s vehicle clashes quite horrible with her trench coat. It’s like someone were to wear a fairy outfit and a Darth Vader mask.
@ Crystal Gate
Less so for me, because the Skater boy crowd and the “watched the matrix too many times” crowd had a lot of cross over while I was in school. collapsible scooters had a bit of a following for a few years till they lost it due to not being extreme enough.
….. then again I could totally visualize my sister handing out candy as “Darth Tinker”…… I’m so going to bring up that mental picture for her.

I have a Razor A5 Lux collapsible scooter that served me very well during my time at university. I’d rather use it than any longboard or bicycle! Sandy South, your mode of transportation is plenty cool, because as everyone knows, young adults are cool, and I used one.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Uncool&redirect=no
Uncool redirects to cool on Wikipedia. So she would have seen Sandy in the article about cool

Haven’t you seen the recumbrant gear trikes? Those things are quick and not only tricycle stable but have a very low center of gravity. I may get one after I move. Portland is a very cyclo city. Check this puppy out! http://www.tridenttrikes.com/stowaway.htm
It seems like someone is bound to develop a taste of snot.
It wasn’t me.
I’m not 6 anymore.
I’ve gotta say, I love this comic and I’ve been following it for a while. I recently decided to turn off ublock and ghostery for this site to support, and I have to say… WHY IN F&#* ARE THERE 97 TRACKERS?!?
Heh, Hilarious! Sandra sure does’t let one of her own oversights stop her from narrerating her own story, altrough i was expecting a skateboard, not one of those lol…
@ Wyzwon:
Because braking only meant completely stopping the wheel while still moving forward (albeit with negative acceleration). So while my shoes were stationary compared to what they were standing on (the scooter), the scooter’s back wheel was sliding over the pavement.
And I thought, that Zoey grew soft over the course of the comic… She’s still fun as Sandra’s arch-nemesis.
Ear Booger And Die is possibly one of the best comback ever heard and found on internet
Those are getting a lot more popular now. Especially the adult-sized versions with electric motors. I know people who use them to get to work (even riding double). I have to admit, MUCH more affordable than a car, and can be picked up and carried onto a bus or train for the longer stretches of the trip.
