- Roger Brown: Why me?!
- Tommy: Good virgins are hard to find nowadays. Post-pubescent ones, at least.
- Roger Brown: How about the girl instead?
- Sandy South: HEY!!
- Tommy: Hmm…
- Tommy: Do you think you’re qualified for the job?
- Sandy South: Well, that depends on your definition of–
- Tommy: Now do you see how hard it is to find a proper virgin?!
- Roger Brown: But Huitzilopochtli will certainly expect a different kind of virgin and burn you alive for such a sacrilegious offering!
- Tommy: On the contrary!
- Tommy: That’s exactly what I like so much about Huitzilopochtli! Regarding virgin sacrifices, he doesn’t discriminate on the basis of gender, age, religion, or race!
- Roger Brown: I don’t think that I can approve of that much political correctness.
Wouldn’t it be easier just to find some gamer shut in and break into his/her house?
Still not convinced this isn’t some kind of elaborate roleplaying.
If the problem is finding virgins, then why did Sandra start to say it depends on the definition of something? Was she saving herself (totally understandable after the guy tried to sell her out) or have she and Cloud been doing things off screen?
What Sandra and Cloud have been doing is naughty thoughts (does not count as “doing”), and kissing. This would require an extremely strict definition to disqualify her.
However, this is Sandy South speaking – it is just not possible to apply the label “virgin” to a hardboiled detective.
What? Cloud got to second base or something?
@ Cervisia:
you have a point, as far as we know it, Huitzilopochtli want sacrifice of a pure virgin in every sense. Oh man, that Sandra’s line is going to cause a huge debate
So Huitzilopochtli still discriminates against orientation, the jerk. What is Tommy’s definition then?
@ Trimutius:
But then you have to deal with their moms….
Alternatively, it could be a commentary on the fluctuating definition of pubescence. Different medical groups define puberty as having different numbers of stages, which means she might be too young to qualify for a “post pubescent” virgin.
To compound the weirdness, non heteronormative definitions of virginity get weird when you start considering that sex takes up a whole plethora of meanings that…
[trails off on long winded lecture that is easily NOT PG-13]
…
And that’s why you should always be wary of spatulas.
…
I feel like I got off topic at some point in there.
@ Cervisia:
Virgin is a completely subjective concept when not applied to food products. So she’s probably right to ask the insane murderous psychopath what his concept of virginity is. Or to just say she’s not regardless of his definition, because again, insane murderous psychopath.
this whole exchange reminds me of TNT’s The Librarians , where a n evil company is sacrficing “VIrgins” to a Minotaur, and this very discussion happens, and it’s concluded that a Virgin could mean an Unmarried Person, my ancient definition.
P.S. Sandra’ reaction is funny in the hidsight that she nearly had Woo maim the guy
They should tell him to check the rating on Top Webcomics! That would narrow down the possible definitions.
Tommy: PG-13… what does that even mean? What are thirteen-year-olds supposed to be able to view these days? Where have they all gone…? AAAAAAAGH! My captives have escaped!!!
>:=)>
Whelp, here come the people whining about her being twelve or thirteen.
@ athroughzdude:
well one could argue that she hasn’t reached “adulthood” yet as the killer implies he wants. and No I don’t think she and cloud have done anything, as cloud is too noble for that.
While I also don’t want to imply anything we should not forget she’s on the pill for quite some time now ( http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2014/08/07/0605-teenage-pregnancy/ ) and at least Richard and Ye Thuza (who supposedly know sandra and cloud a lot better than we do) seem to kind of assume theyÄre (going to) have sex (in the not to distant future).
What interested me was that this “insane murderous psychopath” is depicted as holding his pistol with his forefinger outside the trigger guard. Good man, shows proper gun safety usage.
…Wait, what? Did I just detect something going on??
@ Billycop32:
Also he wouldn’t dare if he want to keep his head. 😉

@ athroughzdude:
I’m going to go with “She’s bluffing.”
Someone once said “It’s easier to murder someone than be politically correct in this country.” Looks like Tommy is going for both, though.
Not entirely sure if Woo/Qoo’s paws are tied up, but if that man’s smart, he’d make sure a raccoon’s paws are restrained. Yeah, still not sure.
Either way, a raccoon can unlock/untie things faster than you can say “Houdini”.
Not sure if I’m the first to wonder: where’s woo in all of this? Wonder if he’s being sneaky.
@ Kaprekar:
He’s visible in the first frame.
@ Nillo:
Well-trained, safety-conscious insane murderous psychopath then.
@ Old Man:
Achmed the Dead Terrorist said that.
“Killing people is easy. Being politically-correct is a pain in the ***.”
Cervisia wrote:
On action that might count as Doing is She deliberately proved Cloud to get an erect when they were at the beach.
And the kissing also counts as doing.
And your kidding yourself if you thin she not explored her own body at her age
So if can depend on your definitions, though so she not lying even if by many definition he probably is. But being aware enough to even ask that question put her into “see what I mean” category.
What did she mean by that?
“I’m a virgin, but not my hands”
I feel like every time there is a comic that causes a debate of any kind Novil sits at their desk and laughs as we tear each others’ theories on the meaning of the comic apart.
Is it wrong that I think Tommy is awesome? Don’t care! I think he is awesome.
Wouldn’t it have been easier just to find a Star Trek Convention?
All this talk about sex is bringing up Planned Parenthood ads on this strip, which is fine by me, because I’d love for them to be spending money on Novil and Poweree.

Like responsible parents they want to be better safe then sorry.
Preparing their kids is always better then having them have to deal with the consequences.
Nillo wrote:
Yeah. Good man. Wouldn’t do robing howyoucallhim of his rightfull sacrifice by accidently killing him the wrong way.
There should be a law forcing psychopathic axe murderers to have proper training in “gun safety” before they are allow es to go out and hunt for victims.
That Sandra said “that depends on your definition of–” is not a sign that she and Cloud have had sex off-screen. One of Sandra’s traits is that she is a good liar and her response sounds less like she’s just trying to save herself than a “no” would.
Richard giving Sandra pills is also not a sign that Sandra is sexually active. All Richard knows is that Sandra has gone trough puberty and that she has a boyfriend who she has a very good and stable relationship with. He cannot know the exact date Sandra and Cloud will have their first time, not even they can know it.

The problem is they are not spending enough money on Novil and Poweree. To me, I think about 99% of their gross revenues would be barely sufficient.
@ KMorisato:
It could just be, in Sandra’s innocent mind, the fact that she kissed Cloud. Then again, she does know what boner is from a previous strip, and is thus aware of sex, so……
Woo’s in the first panel but it doesn’t look like his paws are tied. If not, Tommy’s in trouble.
@ NewEraOutlaw:
You don’t expect her to talk absolutely honest about her love-life with a stranger? One who will kill her, if she gives the wrong (or right) answer?
Like a smart girl, she gives him enough doubt to be safe for the moment.
She was going to say “your definition of The Job” of course!
I believe this’ what you’d call “Values Dissonance”.
If i recalled correctly, Sandra and Cloud slept together in one of the strips. If i’m not wrong.
Slept together in the literal form though. I’d doubt that Cloud would actually do anything since Ye Thuza would not stay silent if he did something to Sandra.
Roger could use the same strategy: “Virgin? well, if you consider the internet….”
Just move locations, Tommy. The only virgins you will find work for Richard Branson
@ athroughzdude:
Almost certainly just saving herself.
@ KurosawaShirou:
That said, other than the issue of their ages I doubt Ye Thuza would object to a little carefully-considered lovemaking between the two of them.
Am I the only one around here who immediately read sandra’s speech bubble as “well, that depends on your definition of post-pubescent”?
Sandy South: Well, that depends on your definition of–
post-pubescent. She might not even be TALKING about virginity.
If Sandra and Cloud have had sex, who cares? They love each other, maybe a little young, but really, is it an issue?
I’m pretty much assuming Landon and Larisa are there already…
She’s what? 14? 15? So yeah, if my childhood is anything to go off of, her and Cloud probably messed around a fair bit in the years they’ve been together. The only person that’s going to offend is the overly dogmatic and hyper “moralized” people. Heaven forbid that people in a monogamous relationship that has lasted for years fool around a bit. If things like this offend you, try actually living in the world we live in. Or, you know, grow up. This doesn’t make either one of them slutty or “impure” or any other word stretch or derogatory name. It makes them hormonal teenagers in love. So can we all start behaving like adults now? The animated teenage girl is, I think we should at least meet her half way.
Why is the guy in handcuffs
Why did the weirdo assume immediately that the guy’s a virgin
Why does this lack of sense
Why
@ Hartlabs:
Why did he bring the two sets of handcuffs if he was only expecting one person to be there?
