Suddenly, her outburst towards the ref becomes a serious cause for concern.
Hi just thought you should know strip [0011] Heaven And Hell is returning a 404 error.
Is it sad that I laughed? I swear Novil masters all types of comedy. This is great dark comedy right here.
this is a reality for some folks. veterans, police, first responders, crime survivors can suffer with those thoughts. Be there for them.
Also the widowed. Grief is massive.
Where the hell did that come from?
This is a reference to a cute little comic I saw a while ago. It was about a stickman doing daily routine things, and then the 4th and 5th panel said “Don’t let existential dread sink in” and “Don’t let it sink in!” I can’t find it right now because I don’t know the name, but this is definitely based on it.
Say Novil, the six panel situation I’ve seen other people do the same joke, where the character is doing well on the outside but is shown to suffer internally on the fourth and fifth panel. Is it just a coincidence or is this a backstory joke?
Dude, just… …no.
DARK TIMES INDEED.
wow that got dark very fast
wow that went from 0-dark as fuck in record time.
You know what? I love this strip. Note the last panel. Luna was remembering something horrible but overcame it and did the wave with a boy she likes.
I’m afraid this is the darkest strip yet, only comparable with the one where larissa talks about her wolfram syndrome.
As I understand ptsd and the depression it often goes with, she has not overcome anything. She is playing along, suffering alone, afraid to show her pain.
She deserves a VERY nice BF in the future, ok? OK?
@ stvsteve:
Speaking as someone who suffers from mental illness and depression: she’s actually doing fine. What’s most deeply flawed about your understanding of these things is this notion of “overcoming” the issues… For the most part, these are things that can never be permanently overcome. The trauma will always be a part of us, and it will probably always keep surfacing every now and then for the entire rest of our lives. The best most of us can do is learning methods that help us not to focus on the things that make us unhappy… and Luna is doing exactly that here.
