- Priest: Now let’s pause for a moment and thank God for all the good things that have happened to us in the last year.
- Sandra: Well, I’m thankful for having such a kind dad and being able to spend so much time with my best friends.
- Ye Thuza: I thank God for The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, the two best games of the decade!
- Cloud: Me too.
- Richard: Me too.
- Priest: Me too. And for Star Wars.
- Priest: The most important things first.

Why are they having a priest over?
Snowwolf wrote:
Why x?
Because it’s a comedy comic and x needs to happen so that the joke works.

Personal priests. Grab one for as cheap as 10 cents in the story. 😉

@ All-Purpose Guru:
It’s priest, have a little priest
Is it really good? Sir, it’s too good, at least
@ Snowwolf:
To be honest, you can’t exactly tell who’s house it is. Maybe Sandra and Cloud are over at the priest’s home for dinner, because their own home burned down or something.
I laughed harder when they mentioned about the witcher 3 and fallout 4.
I’m thankful for the increased presence of swords and knives in my life and my discovery of this website. And Star Wars, even though it was way too close to IV.
Where is Yuna?
I’d guess this is a lent related strip. February 10 is Ash Wednesday after all.
Having priorities is important.
*goes back to rereading the books* Aaaah, Ciri. Anime when?
No Undertale? Seriously?
Feh. Gamers 😛 😛 😛
The priest comes over like a fun bloke to be around. And generally a good guy. If the churches are losing members, it’s certainly not because of people like him! 😀
(And yeah, there are priests like that in real life.)
As for the Undertale question: I haven’t played it myself, just to be clear. But from what I’ve heard from people who did, it is somewhat of a hit and miss with people. More people on the “hit” side of things, but nevertheless not a game for everyone.
Okay, sorry, but: What? Fallout 4? Really? It’s just another mediocre Betheshda game. Morrowind was fantastic, one could even say revolutionary. Oblivion was decent enough, but every game Bethesda has made since Oblivion has just been a continuous dumbing down of the same formula. And the few unique aspects that the heretic of the fallout series forced them to incorporate (IE: the perk system), has been practically removed. Sure it’s still there, but most of the feats are, well, not really feats. +20% melee damage is not perk material. It’s just a minor increase in numbers (which is also all there is to say about their difficulty system, even survival was ridiculously easy (which is no surprise since simply doubling enemy HP does very little to change gameplay, and the legendary enemies spawning more often really just made the game easier….)). Not to mention the fact it’s so poorly coded that almost instantly after release modders made a graphics pack that increased texture quality massively and reduced GPU and memory demands more than should frankly be possible….
I though Cloud and Ye Thuza had better taste in games than to call that poorly coded game anything more than “playable”, but apparently they think it’s not just better than all the truly great games of 2015, like Undertale or Rocket Leauge (Say what you will about RL, but how it got all the football haters to play football is IMO one of the greatest feats ever :P), but in the whole decade? We have had so many great games so far this decade! Last of us, Dark Souls, Mass Effect 2, Portal 2, Super Meat boy, X-com enemy unknown, Fallout new vegas (which, probably due to not being made by Bethesda, is still the best of the modern fallout games)… HECK even minecraft got it’s full release in 2011, and it’s undeniably the most influential game to come out in ages!
Look, i get it’s just a comic strip, but seriously, play some better games…

Fallout 4 was a good game. But it’s not even on the same level as Witcher 3.
Fallout 4 and Witcher 3? Filthy casuals.
I can vouch for witcher 3; nth replay and all that. I’ll leave the critique on fallout 4 to those who’ve actually played it themselves.
So Sandy and Cloud have finally decided to tie the knot? ‘Bout time. They weren’t getting any younger – this ain’t the newspaper.
I can not completely tell if cloud’s mom is the one sitting next to him or not. May someone tell me if i’m correct?
Fallout 4 is like Cod (but 10 times better)…everyone knows of its problems but that doesn’t stop people from loving it. Plus the fact thats its on of the most openly modded games (Or anything that bethesda makes) Means there will be lots of support for it….I mean I had my character in skyrim craft and wear Rift armors and wield a katana while firing japanese armors from a asian style bow..all while riding yakul from princess Mononoke. Meanwhile my character, Serana with a retextured face and clothing similar to Morrigan , Cloud, and Samus re all hunting dragons and just exploring. *takes a breath* Now I dare you to find another game where you can do that.

I hate racing games and sport games, so I kind of double-hate RL. Not saying is bad, just that that statement is not as accurate as you think.
It’s interesting to find a priest that likes videogames, even if he is only in a comic. I’m sure there are real ones around, but I never encountered any.
Sorry, but Fallout 4 is crap. Its an ok game, but fact is it is a shooter with some rpg gimmicks glued on. Which really is a shame when you look at what Fallout /2 was.
Zyrin wrote:
No, bethehda rules the over modded thing, because no one else is as willing to sacrifice good content and decent coding for massive worlds. It’s not bad, it has its uses, I played quite a few hours of fallout 4 myself. But it is insanely badly made. The story is bad even by video game standards. The voice acting shouldn’t even be called that. It’s glitchy even by Bethesda standards.
There is no innovation, no skill, no art and no roelplaying (which is only an issue because they pretend there is room for RPing). I agree with you on one thing. Fallour 4 is like the newest CoD. Generic, boring and virtually identical to it’s predecessors, but still playable.
I’m thank full for the most critizied game for the decades went to clover studio or platinum game s. And for the smash ballot
I’m still praying to God for the Ridley DLC that will DEFINITELY come in three years or so.
@ All-Purpose Guru:
Which begs the question, why aren’t they sitting together? I doubt her dad would mind.
This is a thoroughly confusing strip. Is Sondra at Cloud’s house? If so, where’s Yuna? Is Cloud at Sondra’s house? If so, who’s the adult female? Yeah, Yesterday was Ash Wednesday so I can understand the priest but the rest? Difficult . . .
For the questions of where are they/where is Yuna/why is the priest there bit.
They are at Cloud’s house, the priest is there to see if the black holes Yuna has been making are actually portals to the Hell, meanwhile Yuna is off arranging to take over the world.
The Williamses are Catholic? That’s kind of odd, given that Richard is a scientist (Source: http://www.pewforum.org/2009/11/05/scientists-and-belief/) and Ye Thuza is from a country that is predominantly Buddhist. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it is statistically unlikely.
@ 1oldbear:
The adult female would be Ye Thuza regardless of whose house they are at. As for whose house they actually are at, it hardly matter past fan curiosity.
@ All-Purpose Guru:
Lots of religious communities have the tradition of taking turns hosting their pastor for dinner.
How can I get into their church?
@ Oddysen:
Exactly. It’s just a comic strip…
I wondered why the Witcher series was so popular. It didn’t seem that interesting to me.
And then I found out that it’s some sort of tradition in the series to have uncensored sex scenes. Suddenly, there was clarity.
But it still doesn’t seem that interesting to me.
@ billy:
Yes it is. Just check the transcript for confirmation.
I like how Sandra’s grace was so standard and generic and everyone else’s so… Not. xD
And while I do not doubt that Sandra really does like having a nice father and friends, it kinda feels like the grace of the others is more sincere and not just something they said because they were asked to thank God for something. I should follow suit:
I am thankful that I was finally able to wash out the wax clog in my left ear so I can listen to music in my headphones and not feel like my right ear is throwing a smooth party while my left ear is sitting in the adjecant apartment, eating icecream to stave off its depression and really wishing he’d be invited to the party but being far too socially awkward to actually knock on the door and ask if it’s okay for him to join.
What happened to Luna? Was THAT the end of the story arc?
Strangely, I can buy the priest being there more than Ye Thuza.
I mean the priest might just be one of Richard’s ex-classmates or he might just be a religious guy.
(Wonder if he knows that his daughter speaks to actual deities on a regular basis.)
And if you’re talking about great RPGs over the last decade: the original Xenoblade gets my vote.
Not the sequel, though. Too disjointed between normal on-foot battles and mecha battles for my liking.
Although, I think Witcher 3’s definitely up there.
As for the marriage topic:
Apparently (according to Wikipedia at least, so it’s probably bullshit), you can get married in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Texas at 14 with parental consent.
And (if I’m reading it right) in California, there seems to be no minimum age for marriage.
So, yeah. shrugs
@ Oddysen:
You can play OpenMW if you want. It’s an open-source re-creation of Morrowind’s engine. It loads the game files from an original Morrowind install, and runs the game, minus all the bugs.
…*Didn’t play either of them and didn’t watch it*
I feel like we have different tastes.
“Thank God for Cloud”
That aside, why are they praying with their eyes open :/
I do believe you’ve located one of my parish’s priests. The only thing missing are terrible puns.

>Implying Fallout 4 isn’t a disgusting disgrace to the franchise :^)
@ Oddysen:
Actually, I think Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is without a doubt the best Bethesda game of 2015, no, all time.
Now Club Penguin’s a close second, but without a doubt the way Mario weeps after Aerith’s death in the Whispy Woods after Ganondorf killed her brought a tear to my eye as well as every gamer in the history of cinema.
And if you don’t agree with my opinion I will hack into your Webkinz account and put you irreversibly on the Genocide Route so your Black Cat is haunted by the demonic child, COD Ghosts.
@ KurosawaShirou:
“Why are they praying with their eyes open?”
That’s a weird question… As far as I know you can pray any way you want.
