- Sandra: All right, Woo, let’s keep calm and don’t panic!
- Woo: Easier said than done!
- Sandra: You still have three minutes to come up with a joke that is so funny that it compensates our readers for the missed episode.
- Woo: Hmm…
- Woo: How about this one? Why did the raccoon say “Moo.”?
- Sandra: I don’t know. Why?
- Woo: Because he was learning a new language!
- Woo: TA-DAA!
- Sandra: And another thousand readers gone…

And yet, the feeling of overbearing dread continues. This is all going far too nicely.
Gj All I have to say is Gj!
These 6 comics really enerved me but now I fell weirdly intrigued for the next strip …

What makes you guys think this is not over? This absolutely sounds like Novil to troll the hell out of his audience just to deliver the poorest joke ever. 😀
…and Richard was behind Woo and Woo will have explaining to do. XD
A thousand here, a thousand there.
Pretty soon you will be talking a real audience, or lack thereof.
At least he start with “Mein hund hat keine nase!”

That was so bad, I’m going to stop reading this comic… until the next one is out.
Only the best quality jokes here, folks!
And……….
this is the end of the arc! *NOT.

Sorry, but me and my brothers make worse word-puns, just to test how much can they endure… 🙂
Quick! Throw in a touching and slightly racy scene with Larisa and Landon those usually go over well.
10/10
didn’t expect meta.
perfect.
also nice way to fanservice readers with random “happy world” strips that don’t need to force a pun. Those will last until the next code indetion style discussion.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sandra and Woo. I discovered it 4 years ago when I was working in a tiny shop that nobody came into (we sold school uniform – and this was in the middle of winter) and I clicked away the long hours finding out about Woo and his forest friends, Cloud and Sandra, Larisa and Landon, even Zoey and Michelle… and grew to love them all. But it makes me really sad that for the last year the longest story arc was “all just a dream” and half the comics involve characters breaking the fourth wall, knowingly making silly jokes, and with no character development at all. The plot hasn’t gone anywhere for ages and waiting for the new comic to come out doesn’t have the same anticipation and excitement that it used to. It seems like you’re saving up for something big but it’s been such a long time! And there are so many different directions you could take the plot in… I can’t wait to see where it goes!
I really hope you do have something big planned – I really miss good Sandra and Woo stories.
How long does it take to get to the next Bon Jovi concert?
We’re halfway there.
Say! Whaddaya get when you cross an elephant and a rhino? ELEPHINO!! Say it fast, you’ll get it.
See, when you say it, it sounds like… Oh, never mind… *walks off grumbling*

A little while ago, Novil actually mentioned that he was running out of ideas.

We all know that “Sandra and Woo” has jumped the shark a long time ago. Some would even say it did with the 9th strip since that one already shattered the 4th wall.
only lost 999 readers, I’m still here and enraptured. Why did Woo say spoon by the way?
Trolled by Novil. Again.
Why don’t people like ghost jokes?
Because they see right through them.

This is my first post.
Novil, you are too awesome. We’ve been on our toes for over two weeks man! This was the webcomic that made me realize that today’s newspaper comics suck, and dragged me out of my depression.
Whatever happens next be it raccoon kits, Larisa’s flamethrower, or pissing off some readers, I will be thankful for it!
And I occasionally vote for you on TWC’s. (Have to be honest here.)
And thank you Powree, I love your art!
.
If anyone really is upset, go read the archives or another comic! Post something more meaningful than ‘No’! We all run out of ideas, think up a possible believable S&W script and send it to his email. Writing is not easy.
Once again, Novil and Powree I love this comic.

Okay, this comment by ippi really bothered me and I went back to proove that he’s objectively wrong in every mentioned point:

The ending was ambiguous, and there are just as many arguments for it having really happened vs. it being a dream.

Sandra and Woo has always had some silly jokes once in a while. I fail to see how the jokes published in the last year should have been more silly than usual.

Now it’s getting really weird. Sandra and Woo never had a “plot”. It was always a mixture of gag-a-day strips, story arcs that tell a self-contained story and story arcs that advance the relationship of the characters. Luna’s one at the beginning of the year certainly falls into the latter one. And the one with Sirius climbing the tree gave us Sid x Ruth as a romantic couple.
Hey Novil, I really like Sandra and Woo and have been following it without pause since I fitst found it. You’re doing some great work here and hope you will keep it up for many strips to come. One thing rhough I’d really like to know more about: Once in the earlier story arcs, there was Woo observing Larissa taking some meds and it seemed like she was hiding it from the other characters. Maybe you could elaborate a bit more into this direction or did I miss the explanation later? I know she has diabetes and needs insulin injections because of it but why pills? Anyways, I’m looking forward to the next strips, everybody have a nice weekend
Ranudar
Moo hahaha.
Or, you know, when he’s reading his name in Australia.
@ Ranudar:
This and the strip after is the ‘wham’ episode.
717 and 718
I suggest you read the whole arc starting around 711

And Novil, I joined in to comment because ippi was so very wrong.
First off – Don’t change the format. I like the silly strips, small story arcs, and the progression of the characters relationships without going overboard. I have enough serious stuff in my life – I don’t need one more.
Second off – you have talent for storytelling and I like Powree’s artwork. Don’t get hung up on “ideas”. Believe it or not, ideas are easy – as one professional writer put it, where *can’t* you get ideas from? Don’t believe me? Setup a one-way e-mail drop box, make people include their avatar name in the header and the message to cut down on spam and ask them to submit ideas but limit them to a few sentences of so many words – you’ll be buried. Within three days, you’ll close the box to prevent the server from crashing. May want to use a method where people have to log in. Maybe 5% will be any good, but that will be hundreds of ideas.
Examples:
1) A young character gets hold of a condom. What thoughts spring to mind in a 13(?) year old? Will not be the same as an adult. Do they bring it to their significant other’s attention? Throw it away? Give it away?
2) One of the primary adults discovers accidently that Woo can talk. What’s their reaction? It’s rather trite to have them go “world-wide” with the discovery, but it might be fun for them to drop anonymous hints to Woo that he should be more careful.
3) Have Melody become Sandra’s STEM tutor – lots of technological/programmer humor potential and a chance for her to interact with Richard on a personal level without being “in a relationship.”
4) What is Richard’s relationship with Woo like? That’s got to be a worth four comic strips.
5) What about Cloud and Woo competing for Sandra’s time in a friendly manner – you can do it without sore feelings – more of a one-upmanship contest?
To the rest of you (and I like most of your comments), please don’t rate these ideas. That’s not the point. I said there were plenty of places to go – I’m just putting my money where my mouth is and I freely admit these ideas may be in the 95%.
Last comment to the author and illustrator: Have fun or don’t do it. But I hope you keep up the good work!

What about advancing the story on Larisa’s condition? We had an arc about it 600 strips ago with only one or two mentions about her life-threatening condition at all.
@ Drew:
What’s more to know about Larisa’s life-threatening condition. Maybe if you want back and read some of the comments that come along with the one or two mentions about her life-threatening condition, we know now what it is and why Larisa acts the way she does. Seems pretty wrapped up to me.
@ Skystrider:
I know you said please no rating and I wont. : ) I really like ideas #3 and #4. Or Woo could interact with Melody; we haven’t seen much of her but she is obviously one of the smartest characters, she must have some idea that Woo is very different.
Idea #2 seems unlikely. If the humans didn’t figure out that most mammals and birds are sentient during the (awesome) climbing arc, they never will. They may be in denial or something, but whatever it would break status quo and the feel of the comic. That said, #126
http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2010/01/04/0126-secrets/
(Seeing if I did it right this time, I’m a noob to this.)
seemed to imply that Larisa knows Woo is intelligent. Her knowing Woo’s secret, of all people, would be completely believable. Woo doesn’t even have to talk to her! She could say some snarky comment to him and the interpretation would be left ambiguous.
Your idea #1 has kinda been dealt with. Larisa probably practices safety, if you catch my drift, and I’d rather keep Sandra and Cloud’s relationship level as unknown.
@ Drew:
I agree mostly with Pikadusk. Every time we see Larisa the subtext of her condition is there. She acts the way she does because she has already had a midlife crisis in her preteen years; extraordinarily sad and heartwarming that she has had to decide to live life to the fullest instead of dwelling on the possible future. Expanding more on that part of her story implies an end to…something. Possibly the comic itself! Larisa is the favorite character to many readers and I think it would be drastic to enter some kind of advancing illness storyline. That said, Novil has brought unpredicted amazing before and probably could make it work. I’m imagining ‘Flamethrower Girl’ escaping the hospital to be with Landon one last time type of story.
.
P.S. More Sid and the raccoon kits please! Sid and Ruth are a great pair even though they are a different species. Housepets! and Zootopia has made that not much of a problem hahaha! The kits have to catch Sid a few more times, Vega is still hungry!
