[0893] The First Temptation Of Sandra
└ posted on Thursday, 8 June 2017, by Novil
- Sandra: I should have known! The whole thing was your idea! Cloud is innocent!
- Larisa: Cloud innocent? … And that’s where you’re wrong, kiddo!
- Sandra: What do you mean?
- Larisa: Let me explain.
- Larisa: The devil can only tempt you to sin, but he cannot force you to sin. You make the choice all by yourself to yield to the temptation. Therefore, Cloud only succumbed to my sweet charm because all those thoughts were already in his mind. Just like the thought of wearing the lingerie is already in your mind. It’s futile to resist it, Sandra, and you know it. Cloud and you are just two more sinners on this rocky planet in the Laniakea Supercluster.
- Sandra: Goddammit, you’re a friggin’ good succubus!
- Larisa: The best!
And then you remember that the literal Devil literally recruited her to be a literal succubus.
But what about demonic possession? Or is that a case of Shapley Cluster demonic activity?
True, Cloud is not innocent. However, Sandra should not let Larisa of the hook either, her trying to convince Cloud makes her partially guilty as well.
Anyway, Sandra letting Cloud see her in a Lingerie is getting more and more likely now. I hope I don’t get to see it though. I don’t care if Cloud get to see it, but I’d rather not.
Got to hate it when they make sense. It doesn’t have to be about temptation, but it’s just so hard to resist.
So do Sandra and Larissa somehow remember the while thing with the Devil when they’re not supposed to, or is Sandra just picking the word that best describes what Lar is doing either by chance or some latent sub-conscious memory?
@ MidoriLuna:
The individual has to first submit to the devil for demonic possession to occur. But then, some people are easily conned.
That’s all and true, but by stretching the argument a little, Larissa herself chose to provide temptation. While the Devil would be acting to his nature, or, depending on interpretation, his purpose, a mortal who takes up the position of Seductor is as responsible as the Seduced by virtue of having free will.
Which amounts to: I can’t wait for what amusing punishment Sandra will “choose” for her.
From a legal standpoint, actually, Larisa would indeed be to blame.
Were Larisa’s logic true, then entrapment is not a crime.
You don’t have to be a good succubus. You just have to deal with people who deep down want to be swayed by a good succubus 😉
Yeah, ”I only tempted you” arguement won’t hold any water when you go ”Oh I gave you a gun and gave you a motivation to shoot someone but I didn’t pull the trigger ! ” way of things.
No human is “truely innocent”, that said, it’s still Larissa’s fault as Cloud would not have done it had she not deliberately convinced him to.
The best succubus ? ORLY ?
Chloé might disagree with this bold statement.
“It’s the strangest thing, a few weeks ago I turned into a succubus and I’m not sure why.”
Deliberately tempting someone to sin is the sin of scandal. That said, I’m not sure what Cloud did actually constitutes a sin.
As for possession, the devil can’t possess you without your invitation. Thus, he can’t force you to do anything you haven’t already agreed to.
Oh gosh darn it, Larisa x.x;
The literal plot twist of Wonder Woman.
Also, spoilers.
Interesting that Sandra is innocent and naive enough to fall for the “nothing new under the sun” argument.
@ An “Average” High Schooler:
not true entrapment is a crime. And, while people are free to choose seduction works subtly to bend your will. This is why actual entrapment is illegal. But, it isn’t entrapment to wait behind a billboard for you to speed it is for the police to suggest you speed like the song white knight.
However humans are naturally supseptibal to peer pressure, by telling someone to do something you both implant that idea and give it legitamacy, it did not work on Sandra because she has more self awareness and thus could recognise this. Interestingly this does not make her immune, if Larissa higherd a few people to mention that lingery is a reasonable thing for a minor to wear near her for a few weeks she would quite possibly do it. It should be noted that this is not an inherently bad effect, after all if a majority of other people think something’s true even if you can’t understand it it’s more likely that it is true, in addition dissagreement in a soisal system is inefficient. This effect is simply suppseptable to exsploitation. From this one can divine a great deal of human nature from cultures to advertisements.
I thought the succubus story was an isolated thread.
@ Lowin Bayrod:
She might, she’d be wrong though, Larissa grasps the proper, fundimental nature of the job while Chloe seems just caught up in the hype and thus has the subtly of a brick.
@ Lowin Bayrod:
She’s barely even in her titular comic, though, let alone ‘best succubi’ material.
Hmm, I just realized, Larisa is trying to get Sandra and Cloud together, not get herself together with Cloud. That’s like… the reverse of being a succubus…
But he wouldn’t have done it without temptation, just because he had the thoughts doesn’t make him a sinner, you doofuses
@ Lowin Bayrod:
What about Dabbler?
It seems to me that Cloud is “mostly innocent.” If you look back at the relevant strips, it took an awful lot of directed persuasion. Not only would Cloud not have done it if Larissa had not intervened. But he would have backed out without her continued presence.
Yes the thoughts were in their heads but they also made a CHOICE not to act on them.
While it’s clear this power she use’s is some kind of things that suppresses inhibition she is warping a choice they already made into what she want’s. Her argument may hod water IF they didn’t “Already Decide Not To” therefor her actions are tantamount to mind control and subversion of individual actions.

True. It’s got to be a bummer to get spun off into your own comic, only to have it hijacked by supporting characters.
Love the tail… missing the cute horns…

To me, the universe is simply a great machine which never came into being and never will end. The human being is no exception to the natural order. Man, like the universe, is a machine. Nothing enters our minds or determines our actions which is not directly or indirectly a response to stimuli beating upon our sense organs from without. Owing to the similarity of our construction and the sameness of our environment, we respond in like manner to similar stimuli, and from the concordance of our reactions, understanding is born. In the course of ages, mechanisms of infinite complexity are developed, but what we call “soul ” or “spirit,” is nothing more than the sum of the functionings of the body. When this functioning ceases, the “soul” or the “spirit” ceases likewise.

Sandra rolls for Logic Immunity Check
Fails.
Larisa rolls for Logic Immunity Check
Succeeds!
Larissa should be a politician.
Dat tail 🙂

But again they already made their choice, she then decided she wanted them to do something different so she went against what they originally wanted because she wanted to be able to control what they would do and take that power away from her friends.
“Kiddo?” “Laniakea?” And all the succubus traits?
I get the feeling that somewhere something went wrong in the timeline.
Afaik Kevin and Larissa may not remember each other, but isn’t their contract still in effect? Systems are able to remain active, even when forgotten by time or circumstances. And if she’s scaling it up to astronomical levels, could it mean, that time (of which she may have not too much) is no more an issue to her?
So is Larissa just an instance of Larissa? It would explain how she extends parts of her body, how she grows horns and a tail and how she can handle the pain inflicted by Sandra.
Btw where is it written that it’s a sin to buy your GF underwear? It only gets more interesting if you say it’s a sin, I think.
JK, I just really like jumping.
Larissa is good. she slipped in more of her subtle manipulation throughout her entire monologue “It’s futile to resist” and ended with a statement to make Sandra feel weak and powerless.
Devil: Promote that girl.
@ Crystalgate:
“Guilty” of… lingerie purchase? Sexual thoughts?
Lust is a sin. But then so is eating shrimp, bacon, or cheeseburgers. Also, wearing basically any type of modern clothing.
Hmmm I just really hope Kevin and Larisa will get Odin out of the box… the old guy deserves it.
One, Cloud’s not innocent but that doesn’t exempt the temptress from blame either (even if she is a damn good succubus), since she brought the thought to the surface and continuously reinforced it.
Two, damn it Larisa, now I’m having unclean thoughts of Sandra in naughty lingerie.
@ Pvblivs:
further more to that point. it wasn’t clouds idea either. he never even considered said sexy underwear until a little snake whispered in his ear….
@ Paeris Kiran:
And Tesla didn’t know what he was talking about in terms of cosmology. Observation shows that the Universe had a beginning, and thermodynamics dictates it must one day end.
Memory erasure just didn’t work…
Honestly, Larissa sort of deserves her own comic. She’s wonderful. Or terrible. I’m not sure which. (Larissa’s game accent was a lot heavier than in my head, but it’s totally grown on me.)
The Adventures of Larissa. I dont know about brimstone, but there’s sure to be fire.
@ HMRC4EVR:
Probably the second one.
@ E:
Larisa and Fire
Larisa;Fire
Larisa and Vega [Burn It All Down]
I’m all out of ideas for naming her comic.
@ myth buster:
I guess it depends on your definition of the “universe”. even if it big banged at some point in some multidimensional space with different notion of time… and space and time will likely exists even if it freezes to death.
I’ve found it interesting that in another trillion years, the cmbr will have all but disappeared and we’ll have no real evidence of the Big Bang, and civilizations that form 1 to 100 trillion years from now will have no real way to prove how the universe was created. Moreover, a few trillion years past that civilizations won’t even be able to see other clusters of galaxies, to them the universe will visibly be a very small place.
@ HMRC4EVR:
What are you talking about?
Why are people calling Larisa a Succubus?
What does the Devil have to do with anything?
Did Powree do a big crossover plot in the other comic while taking that extended break from S&W?
