Our yearly Sandra and Woo and Gaia artwork contest has just started! The prize money this year is a whopping $1100! So don’t miss your chance to become one of the winners!
- Woo: Won’t our readers notice that Novil reused old art for this strip because he needs more time to work on strip #905?
- Lily: Of course not. They have the long-term memory of a fruit fly.

Original use of art: http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2011/09/01/0304-sleeping/
This one seems to be shrunk by a few pixels. Easily noticeable when ctrl-tabbing between the two.

Fixed.
I noticed.
Extra tag required: Fourth Wall.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Woo and Lily, nice :-3

But short term attention to detail seems to be optimal.
Also, fear the archive binger for from them, you can not hide with mere long term memory.
Fantastic new strip!
Oh and she is so right!
Hey, this fourth wall’s been broken. Does that mean we can reach in and pet the cute raccoons?
Woo: On the basis that we’re here to buy time… sure! I suppose. Right, Novil?
Lily: I’dbettergoandaskhimbye! *retreats, leaving disintegrating outline and small sonic boom*

Fun fact: I worked in a fruit fly research lab, and they can remember stuff for at least 24 hours! Not exactly long-term, but I didn’t even know you could measure their recollection abilities until that job.
“long-term memory of a fruit fly”
This demands an appropriate response :

How much is a long term? A few months? 2 days?
i feel offended, but i can;t tell why
Wait, who are those raccoons again?
Well we certainly noticed now.
Raccoons are maybe not as aware of us as they think they are.
~600 strips between this and the original art, = 300 weeks ago. Fruitflies live about 40-50 days, so say 45 days ~=6.5 weeks.
300/6.5= 46.15…
I’m not sure about what Novil thinks the long-term generational memory of fruit flies are like, but it must be impressive.

No matter how offbeat the content of your comic is, there’s always one smartass who studied the exact same thing for a decade and tells you how wrong you are ;).
OK, I’m not going to feel bad for not instantly recognizing artwork from about 6 years and 600 strips ago.
But anyway, thanks for letting us know what’s up with the schedule, so we aren’t just constantly looking for an update that’s not there.
Plus this update is super cute, which is distracting!

Just some random trash pandas. Probably won’t see them again.
In case you were wondering… the year is 2011, and the magic number is 306 🙂
@ Nabyrie:
+304 XD
Hey! THAT’S NOT…..what were we talking about again?
Don’t forget about the, uhh, umm…
*one minute delay*
…the art contest!!!

We’ve only seen Lily once before this over the last year, and nothing of Shadow and Sid. Even Woo has been reduced to a background character =(
@ Deadly-Bagel:
I hear you brother. Maybe their holding it all for next year.
Think the question would be “does the readers care …”.

It’s always better to be called a smarta$$ then a dumba$$. 🙂
@ Deadly-Bagel:
Agreed. We need more talking coon action!

That depends largely on whether you include the spice melange in their diet.
Now I’m picturing fruit flies in tiny black robes controlling people with high-pitched little insect Voices.

@ Vidad:
I’m kind of impressed that this is the FIRST comment. I mean, if it had been like the 10th or 15th, then I’d assume someone went through an archive binge to find those strips. But here is this person who found it so fast, they posted it a day before the comic was even posted.
I remember this page :p Yup, we all see you just changed the dialogues :p
@ SlugFiller:
One of the perks of being a Patron on SandW is the illusion of time travel.

@ SlugFiller:
Being a Patreon patron comes with the perk of time-travel. Furthermore, finding these strips does not require a full archive binge. I remembered roughly where they occurred, and clicked on a couple links in the “Comic Archive” page until I had it.
I got comic content, I’m happy ^^ hope you get the next one done without stressing too much ^^
Hahaha… Meta isn’t always funny.
Isn’t it just because this webcomic has had so many unmemorable strips?
-_^ wrote:
Unmemorability is subjective.
No, I have the memory of a tiger. I am merely sleepy sometimes.
I bet! Who knew insects liked doing random math?
Too bad I have read all of your strips in one day and I remember it!
Ha! Your reuse of art is obvious to me, as I read the original strip mere hours ago!
