I’ve had to recently stop allowing WIkia.com to run scripts because they added something that made viewing their pages problematic. I find it rather dis-heartening that Sandra would want to emulate Larisa’s behavior. Also, I thought that the succubus thing was outside the regular story.

Knocking on wood used to be a thing in the US as well, back in the 18th century. From what I understand knocking on wood was the way to show agreement in political settings while hissing was used to show disagreement.

its a type of aplause, most commonly used in school or university, because it allows you to aplause but still have a hand free to take notes 😉

But why should it be translated from German practice? Americans never translate anything for other cultures, I’m frequently baffled by things in films. It took me 30 years to find out why giving your credit card to someone to go shopping works in the USA, because they don’t have signatures or chip and pin so literally anyone can use someone else’s card. I assumed they were forging each others’ signatures, because that’s what you’d have to do in the UK.

We also use a completely broken number-based id called social security to do basically everything; its a simple 9 digit number you’re basically stuck with at birth, and it’s pretty easily guessable. But don’t talk to us about a more secure id system because FREEDOM.
