looks like Arci is going to need a trip to the veterinarian
luckily it’s only his shoulder, but for a young raccoon
that kind of wound could leave him crippled.
depends if the tine missed any bones, nerves, or arteries
the muscle is going to be all messed up
and if he isn’t taken to a veterinarian by Sandra and woo
it’s likely to get infected, which could go very bad, very quickly.
That is way less bad than I thought it was. Rub a little dirt in it kid, you’ll be fine.
Better yet, go the way of John Rambo and pour some gun powder in it and light it on fire.
… at least it was just the shoulder, rather than the chest or something.
Would still smart, but a torso wound would have been a lot harder to walk away from.
Shouldn’t Arci be yelling, shouting, crying or whatever? Has he become suddenly mute lol?
the poor kid is crying. Probably shock from the pain as opposed to the bobcat.
I wonder why there is still a lynx tag when the predator is obviously a bobcat.
Hooray for Canopus! That’s one courageous racooon.
I’m also shocked that Arcturus actually landed on the pitchfork nearly in between the two tines, only piercing his shoulder instead of the rest of his body.
So it went through the shoulder! Looking at panel six on the previous page you can see it, too. Kudos for making it hard to see. Most ppl (including me) thought it had gone through the upper torso!
Well, its a comic. You also got parents who think it is fine to threaten others with their life, and so on. Just got to roll with it, and decide wether it is fun enough. 🙂

I believe Mystik meant to those poor, unfortunate predators… xD
But being serious, if he eat and rest well, he most likely would be able to heal up from that wound, without a vetenarian help, but then he would be a cripple for sure. Raccoons, even the younger ones are astoundingly toughish!
I can’t help but notice how similar this bobcat looks to the mother Ruth killed in the Psycho Squirrel story. I wonder, is this one of the cubs she left behind?
@ Ominous: yes “hunt” it down. You really think that bobcat would get a swift death from a gun? Oh how you underestimate the wrath of a mother. If we actually get to see it, it would surely not be pg13, it’ll be rated R if not NC-17.
Jesus Christ, this is freakin’ intense!!!
The transcript says ‘Acturus’ where it’s actually Canopus attacking the lynx, I think.

Fixed.
Damn, that bobcat lost his eye, didn’t he?
Perfect. Now we have a nice scar to identify the same predator when we inevitably have a re-confrontation for some kind of thematic resolution.
Tis but a flesh wound, Tis but a scratch!
@ MM luger:
But your whole eye is gone…
WOW!!!
So forget the intervention of irrate parents or of the racoon deity, instead make way for Expert Mode Canopus to the rescue.
Of course , I’m curious about how this will affect a possible future return of the bobcat, and also worried about Arcturus’s state.
Luckily, he seems to have avoided the most dangerous outcome…. for now.
Beast-mode Canopus.
I’m more worried about the pitchfork.
They still haven’t figured out the whole food chain thing, have they?
Someone’s been getting lessons from Auntie Ruth.

Or they can just get a squirrel they are on friendly terms with to hunt him down.

The tension is filling the air, get a room guys.
Well ain’t Canopus quite the little badass.
Still better than through the heart like what was being alluded to with the last one.

Now that is one bada** kit. Go Canopus!
@ Psychronia:
If they tell Ruth about it, that bobcat is lunch.

Phew, much more relieved now.

Yay! Tarzan (Canopus) bundolo! 😉
Wait, Canopus attacked the bobcat? I thought Vega was the aggressive one :O
I’m just glad Arcturus is small enough to fit mostly between the prongs of that pitchfork. I was so scared the poor pup would be totally skewered!
As I figured, Arcturus needs some professional help, but will be fine.

What a releif!
I was expecting Vega to go crazy on the bobcat.
wow, that’s intence. Luckey that they fenced him off.
That curse thing is not looking good for the human who left it there.
amazingly drawn Lynx, beautlful drawn creature 🙂 Was one close to where I live in Sweden not too long ago.
I’ve got to say I feel the same way about my siblings – You mess with them, I mess with you!
Thanks, Novil. I don’t need that much real life in the comics.
Well, we know that bobcat is going to get at least 30 years in hell for hurting Arci.
Silly bobcat, plot armor is invincible against any and all attacks ever.
It’s so heartwarming to see Canopus so dedicated to guard his family :3
A FAAAAAMILY PICTURE

Way to go, Canopus!! I see you inherited your dad’s badassitude!
Canopus clearly demonstrating that he was a tanuki in a previous life.

Am I the only one still thinking about this: all these pages and not a single nod to it or any type of conclusion.
