Zoey: “MY LEG!”
Michelle seemed to be rather….not hateful but cold to Zoey a few panels ago. Bit weird that shes on her team now.
@ Will:
Erm…nevermind, its me misremembering something from from all the way back before Strip 1000@ Will:
So if Zoey retires hurt (concussed by the look of it)… that’s a win for Sandra, right?
Hasn’t Sandra been putting Zoey down since the start of this arc? *rimshot*
She used to be an athlete, then she took a volleyball to the knee.
I can’t walk again but I can still run.
Reminds me of a crime thriller I read where a magician murdered a guy using magic tricks to make him believe he had been cut in half. It was smoke and mirrors of course, but the victim was so certain that he had been cut up that his brain just shut down.
How does Michelle get buried in the sand like that? It isn’t quicksand surely
I was worried that Sandra’s team might lose this one, but now I’m thinking they could still win since Zoey’s team seems to be just as terrible at volleyball.
Zoey NOOOOO
@ Brijeka Vervix:
Spontaneous liquefaction.
@ MidoriLuna:
If two teenagers landing on the ground can cause that, I think the pool ought to be closed until it can be inspected by the USGS
Since beach volleyball is supposed to be played in bikinis, shouldn’t Zoey be penalized for being out of uniform?
If that’s her reaction to it, she is lucky it was not Actually broken.
Also sets her up for a ‘ Hey Zoey, break a leg’ joke.
You’re never going to walk again…so keep running and don’t ever stop!

Point for Sandra’s team.
Opponent left the playing field.
Poor Zoey.
She needs a break.
@AnotherBear You won’t hear me complaining.
This is my favourite arc, and not just because of the cute girls in bikini.
I once had a knee operation and woke from it with the weight of the cast pressing painfully down on my ankle. A kind nurse put a pillow under my leg and I drifted off again. The next time I woke (still pretty out of it) I looked under the sheet to see what looked like the cast bent at 45 degrees to my upper leg, and had an anxious moment before I worked out what I was actually seeing!
She’s never gonna walk again.

Looks like they have extra-light sand made from pumice. Or Zoey and Michelle are way heavier than they look.

Compared with Sandra’s team from the last strip, they appear to be even in skill, so this could go either way.

As this is a universe where racoons (or at least one of them) can talk, where squirrels uses guns to hunt predators (or at least one of them do), and small girls hold their classmates in terror with their pencil (when not creating black holes or building machines controlling the weather) I think it’s safe to assume that the laws of nature might be a bit bendy when confronted by the Rule of Funny.

No kidding. I broke my leg like that, once, and stupidly (shock!) got up and tried to walk. The vascular damage from the broken ends shredding tissue forced me to keep it elevated for better than a month.
I was told I was lucky I didn’t lose the foot after pulling that stunt.
BTW, strangely, (again, shock) it didn’t hurt a bit for the first half hour.

Shock is a hell of a drug

That’s true. Check out the title of the panel….
Wait a second… Are they standing outside the fourth wall?
@ Asrial:
I’m about tired of this particular story arc. Ready for it to be over.
KayJay wrote:
I think you’re out of luck (I hope!). 🙂 I rather like it. 😉 🙂 🙂
@ KayJay:
You’re right, it is getting quite long but not really adding much besides the possibility that Zoey and Sandra may stop hating each other
Brijeka Vervix wrote:
Just relax and enjoy the show.
@ Nikary Flare:
I’m not un-relaxed though. Just feeling that this arc ought to be drawing to an end soon (I’m not sure if it’s being drawn out so that people can see the cast in swimmers for longer but surely 34 or something strips of bikinis is enough? They aren’t that amazing geez)
AnotherBear wrote:
According to Wikipedia: According to FIVB rules, female beach volleyball players have the option of playing in shorts or a one-piece swimsuit. Most players, however, prefer the two-piece bikini.
Brijeka Vervix wrote:
Yeah, I think this arc has outstayed it’s welcome as well.

Good eye. They are and that’s an interesting twist in its own right.
