It’s an ambush
In raccoon-befriending, Sandra is no. 1!
And on the subject of rankings, Sandra and Woo just ended the month in 73rd place on Top Webcomics with 1602 votes. Gaia finished in 74th place with 1599 votes.
Now I *really* want a bunch of raccoons. Not that they’d actually make that great of pets, sadly…
In the 2nd panel, the speech-lines from “Yah!” seem to point toward the kits, not Woo.
Can they ALL speak Human? Previously, only evidence one can. And how about Lily?
Hmmm, in addition to his linguistic skills, Woo seems to be able to break the 4th wall.
I wish I had pets to cheer me up.
But if I had pets I would have to do stuff.
So I like Sandra and Woo better.
Yeah, pets are always there for you, if they are good pets…
That’s all very nice, but it looks like the entire day before that sucked hard. And that has some nasty implications. Didn’t any of Sandra’s human friends cheer her up? What, did Cloud break up with her because of her inept kissing? Shouldn’t Larisa have tried to make things up to Sandra after basicaly rigging the final round in Zoey’s favor? Not even a friendly hug from Luna?
Ah, well, I’m probaby overthinking things. It’s a nice strip.
What a cute strip after the last one. Good thing is, most of the school will have forgotten it tomorrow; I speak from experience.
This is exactly why I love dogs. No matter how shitty your day may have been they are happy you come home. Never had a dog bitch or complain about how much time you spend with them, they love any attention you give and act like any treat or toy is a gift of the highest love. They even seem to sense your moods and know when you need extra love. My dog Rocky had never met my father and he seemed to get along with everyone but when my abusive father showed up he literally went for his throat. When my father was waving his finger at him I wanted so badly to let go of the chain holding him back. Probably a good thing I didn’t. They may have branded him vicious and put him down. Strange world. A man gets away with beating a child but a dog can get a death sentence for protecting one.
I’m dying of cuteness overload, at least it’s a good way to go.
Sirius seems to have a better tongue technique as well.
awwww 🙂
This is the second best only best attraction(56) was better.
@ Greenwood Goat:
That ranking is a disgrace!
When I voted though (on 29th), I thought I saw 2000-odd votes for both?
This is insanely adorable.
If your pets don’t know this, you have bad pets… Or a cat.

lol wrong
Judging from Sandra’s expression, her day really sucked!
Nothing better to cheer you up than death by kawaii.

You’re right. Cats know when their owners needs petting, they are just evil creatures, that don’t care. Or take delight in showing their contempt towards them in their hour of need.
This is an adorable strip.

If you have a fever, a cat will be happy to snuggle up next to you… because they like the extra warmth.
Soo cute! Just what she needed!
Somehow I stumbled at the world “Owner”/”Besitzer” though. It seems to me that Woo would call Sandra his “human”, not his “owner”. Especially when this is about the little ones too: Vega doesn’t seem to be the kind of racoon lady who would let herself or her kids be owned by anyone…
As always: beautifully drawn!
@ Edda:
At least one of the kits – Vega – can also speak English, as per The Revelation (#947).
Shut up, Woo. You didn’t want to help her win… 😆
I loved this arc. You got great comedy, some creative work, excellent antagonism by Zoey, some fun character development, girls in bikinis for people who like that, and finally adorable Raccoon kits!
@ Wolfhowl:
My cat is still a kitten and she knows this.
@ Wolfhowl:
I have had cats that had an emotional bond and ones that didn’t. The reason dogs bond quickly and stronger is they are pack animals and you become a packmate usually the pack leader. Cats are mostly solitary hunters and thus the bond may not be as strong. However thid makes them easier to leave alone for long periods of time like when you go to work. Dogs are mostly working breeds and need something to do and to occupy their minds. This can be a problem for single people in small apartments. Personally I prefer dogs but cats are good pets also and will bond with their walking can-openers.
All adult raccoons are models. They’re built up from kits.
This is nice and sweet and everything but I reaaaaaaally wanted this arc to end with zoey getting a love interest 🙁

People who don’t own cats say something like that. My cat can sense my mood. If I have a really bad day or am sad like hell and hide crying in me bed, he finds me, comes to the bed, lies next time, purrig, putting his paw on my head or my hand. Instead like a dog where you have a master-server-relationship, the relationship between you and a cat is always on mutual level. It’s equal friendship. Because if you behave like a master to your cat, the cat will leave and dont want to act up on this bullshit. I know that dogs are friends too, but you always have to be a higher rank than your dog (meaning: being the Alpha) and train him otherwise it will be a problematic dog.
The petter has become the petted!
And hopefully this helps Sandra forget/get over losing to Zoey.
If I were in Richard’s place…
One pet raccoon is one thing, but now there are five.
I’d definitely think about having Woo neutered
@ Trimutius:
In which case, my cat’s a really sucky pet.
coulda been a ferocious tiger….
