- Julia: Are you up to the next round of smooching?
- Zoey: Sure. I’d like to try out a new tongue technique.

Yeah, I’ve since long had no idea what this arc is going for. Will things become clear once the arc is finished? Does even Novil know what he’s doing?
It looks like Novil is trolling, but I wonder who is being trolled. There’s no way to tell until we find out wether or not this coupling is going to stick since that is a complete game changer.

I agree, but I still think this arc is about punishing the shipper who sent Novil loads of e-mails about Zoey, so my guess is that Gilligan will not win in the end.

Yeah, they’re perfect for each other.

Yeah I agree. But I winder if that means zoey and Julia are going to break up or what.
As long as there both fine with it I guess it’s the perfect relationship.
To quote Zoey herselxlf “No! You are not allowed to like it.”
Maybe we should just sit back and enjoy the comic w/o trying to over-analyze it?
I mean, discuss it and try to figure out what’s going on, but drawing conclusions on how the creators are in real life from it just seems a bit unnecessary .
If they’re trying to entertain, let them entertain. If they’re trying to make a point about an issue, let them make it in their own way.
I just don’t want to see things going too far and a web comic I love be hurt in the process.
Somehow, I feel like this is going to end up with the shipper waking up from his wet dream or something
Nice reference to “American Pie”
Looks like they can get used to that.
This arc really should have ended at least 5 strips ago.
5th wall comedy, nice.
Sweet dreams are made of this. Who am I to disagree?

Dammit man, ya beat me to the punch
A match made in heaven.
No matter the complaints on the arc, I’m delighted at how it’s portrayed Zoey & Julia becoming a couple as entirely normal. No one in the entire arc has complained or made fun of either one for being “gay.” Not even Michelle, whose reaction was a bit homophobic back when Zoey kissed her, has acted like this is weird or disgusting.
Eh. Funny. Nice strip. ‘Tis the good stuff.
If this is a dream – the whole comic runs on dream logic a bit, so I’m not nearly as sure as some commenters – what does it mean?
I expect if it is a dream, Gilligan doesn’t exist, but Julia does. Gilligan, like Jareth, is the personification of her sex drive, and “he” wants her to get together with Julia, because she does, even though simultaneously she doesn’t, as expressed in a way in this strip. Larisa and Michelle play both sides because both of them are also her, and she’s of two minds.
That said, this comic almost convinced me it wasn’t a dream, because it seems like a real exchange more than something symbolic, but writing it out I can see the symbolism. I do think it’s a dream, but not because of Gilligan or the dancing otaku judges – we’ve seen much stranger. What has me convinced is the interaction of Zoey and Michelle. Zoey, who last time the subject came up claimed to Michelle’s face to be straight, suddenly admits she’s into a girl? Michelle, who right after that was seen lying awake at the notion that her friend was attracted to her, doesn’t blink? Even if she’s trying now to divert her attentions, that doesn’t explain her initial reaction, neither the later “go for her” nor “not a her,” just “not her.”
Zoey seems to be happy for now. Next shipment?
‘Cause this is filler! Filler night! And no one’s gonna save you when your brain goes on a strike!
Sandra got foiled.
“I’m being used? That means I’m useful! This is a huge boost to my ego!”

Imagine two people, one who loves skiing, but is bored by soccer and one who loves soccer, and is bored by skiing. You would assume that those two people just have different tastes and probably cannot enjoy the respective sport that bores them. Well, some readers here absolutely cannot enjoy this arc. They can sit back, but they can’t do the enjoy part because they are unable to.
Here the thing; I have no idea whatsoever what Novil is trying to do. I don’t know if he’s trying to make a joke or a point or a little of both. If he’s trying to make a joke, there’s not a single strip in this arc that I’ve found to be the slightest bit of funny and if he’s trying to make a point, I have no idea what that point will be. One key factor is if this new couple will stick, depending on wether or not Novil let them remain together will completely change the message.
If this comic gets hurt, it’s ultimately mostly on Novil. Readers who participate in a shitstorm are all responsible, but the comic writer will bear the biggest responsibility. That said, remaining calm is indeed a great idea.
@ Raen:
My opinion? Novil started this arc wanting to do the dream thing. But then people like djulia and he realised it would be a better story without the twist.
Still think Gillian’s gonna hey his punishment though.
This is simultaneously the most healthy relationship I have ever witnessed and least sarcastic statement I have ever made!
@ Manabi:
Yes. I’m glad novil is treating this so normally. I’m sure there are a lot of young gay readers who are glad there getting their representation.
There’s only one lesbian-appropriate response to my feelings regarding this entire arc …
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/IncompletePlayfulBaiji-small.gif
At least this strip got better, shows another kind of healthy relationship, fuckbuddys, in my country call ‘amigos con derecho a roce.’ Even so Gilligan deserves his punishment.
I don’t know if it’s supposed to be real, or a dream, and honestly, I don’t care anymore. I really enjoy the two girls and how they interact and Gilligan is an really annyoing distraction.
I want to protect these smiles.

Gonna be honest. This story arch is so funny, witty and clever written, that I really forgott all ma anger about the sensles gore/vore comics before. Thank you so much.
I’ve the feeling, that the Comic is now again on a really funny road.
🙂
Can’t wait to see the next strip!
Funny how everyone wants to be considered useful, but nobody wants to feel used.
Ok you lost me around panel 2

Congrats ladies. You’ve discovered that the core of all good relationships is beneficial mutual usage.
….Ok, I’m starting to get lost. Or is this about fanships not always being the picture of a healthy, good relationship?
@ Trimutius:
Both realize they use and are used by the other and have the personality type that does not seem bad. (a very mature personality)
In other words, both are in a good relationship, without any deception or deceit.
Honestly, I don’t think I mind being used… just not MISused.
…or going completely unused for long periods. That’s pretty depressing also.
This storyarc gets less and less okay.

In the Comedy movie “American Pie”, which revolves around a group of a little more awkward male teens desperately trying to get laid for the first time until their highschool prom, the male MC Jason had a very awkward encounter with the hot exchange student accidently broadcast in the Internet and is subsequently ridiculed by all of his classmates and branded as a looser in bed. As a consequence, he gets a prom date with virtually the only girl in his year who hadn’t seen the broadcast, a socially awkward nerdy wallflower he otherwise wouldn’t ever have considered asking out. However, during the course of the movie they seem to develop some real chemistry and discover that they really like each other (or so it seems).
When they finally find themselves a private place and are about to have sex, the girl gives him advice how to deal with his performance issues, thereby revealing that she HAD in fact also seen the awkward broadcast and just pretended to be unaware to exploit the fact that he would think she was the only girl he had a decent chance to score with. They proceed as planned anyways.
And now the scene that is referenced here: When the male MC awakes after their night of making love, she is already gone, left unceremoniously without waking him. His first reaction (in a shocked voice): “I have been used … oh my god I have been used …” then a broad grin forms on his face and he adds in an impish pleased voice: “I have been used … sweet!” as he realizes that she did about the same with him as he and his buddies were planning to do with their stupid bet to get laid before the end of prom night and that he has no reason to feel belittled or betrayed, because he got exactly what he wanted out of this after all.
I think that’s fun. Who knows what they can do when being in sync. Finally serious competition for Larisa.
If somebody doesn’t enjoy it, it’s because of their rules and global beliefs in their head. Not because the comic is bad.
Most of our rules and global beliefs form by accident and incompetent adults that have a truly strange idea of right and wrong.
Those two have fun and they don’t hurt anybody. And they’re cartoon characters on a page. I won’t worry.
Remember when Zoe coul’nt handel seeing Landon being used by Larissa?
