@ Antiyonder:
Oh strawman my strawman!
I tried Googling these countries, but not much came up. Help?
@ Zelnik:
Yeap… failed socialism is never “real socialism”, while any failing that occurs in a capitalist economy is “an obvious failing of capitalism”.

What? The comment I responded to singled out kids and college students as the sole cause of the world being complete Hell. Perhaps you’d care to point out where I misunderstood.
“Bingo! You can almost hear the whiny, blue haired, pierced college student who has never worked a day in it’s (watch those pronouns, bub) life saying it. Remember kids, socialism is always just one execution away from utopia.”
@ person:
the only good take in this absolute dumpster fire of a comments section

I’ve just come back from spending working 5 years in Sri Lanka.
if you knew what Sri Lankan politics was like, and understood it’s history, you’d think again and maybe change your mind.
It’s not the worst place in the world (plenty of contenders for that title) but its politics, and in the past 40 years or so its inherent corruption, often enough at the level of national government, have seriously impacted on the development of the country, and the quality of life for its people.
It would be paradise, but for the snakes.
@ clickbait:
No, that’s about right. I live in a state where a single city has the population to force the rest to vote for one side even though the rest of the state is for the other because unlike a few other states all our electoral votes go to one party.
To top it off, the majority of people vote for one or the other because it’s a waste to vote third party. Such logic ensures the two parties keep their place at the top and neither is going to do anything to allow a third party in. Things will have to get much worse to get better on our current course. :/
Lots of holidays–provided one shows up at the speech and parade….and not go home early lest the people’s police take heed.
@ Killjoy:
I was thinking more of a Eternal Cyborg Ruler just like JC Denton/Helios in Deus Ex

Since you were quoting me, Antiyonder, I shall point out where you misunderstood. I was NOT blaming today’s 20 somethings for the state of the world. I was pointing out that the SJW 20 somethings are the people who make statements about all failed socialism is not true socialism.
Anything more that that is you reading too much into my statement. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

I guess. It’s just that I’m sure there are SJW’s above that age range who your comment can apply to.
They got “peaceful and serene” right at least.
(because no one is quite as peaceful as someone too weak to move)

I see you missed my hints that the enlightened ruler would need to be literal angel – meaning supernatural celestial being. (Note that last I checked, no angel ever tried to become part of any government.)
Holy crap, talk about mood whiplash after that last comic…
@ Eliyahu:
You were likely being humorous, but that is only true
if you’re ruling a country roughly the size of NYC.
Anything much bigger than that and bureaucrats get involved -then things begin to implode.
Somehow, I keep coming back to this one. I feel like it’ll always be the darkest strip in the whole series.
@ Brett Bellmore:
I think that “United” is out for debate still – at the very least, it’s very much situational and subject to many, vehement, and highly varied opinions
